Fish growth model is an important method to study the growth and development of fish, aiming at the problems of poor performance and low efficiency in processing high-dimensional and large-capacity data in the existing fish growth equations, proposed a growth model of tongue sole built by the parallel BP neural network based on mini-batch gradient descent. this paper introduces the data preprocessing method, details introduction of the parallel BP neural network based on mini-batch gradient descent model design, and uses traditional BP neural network, parallel BP neural network based on stochastic gradient descent and parallel BP neural network based on mini-batch gradient descent build a growth model of tongue sole to compare and analyze. the results show that the RMSE of the tongue sole growth model built by the parallel BP neural network based on mini-batch gradient descent is 1.43, which has a better fitting effect. © 2021 ACM.

Accurate prediction of irrigation water requirement is the basis for irrigation water conservation. However, the widely used machine learning prediction methods do not utilize spatiotemporal information between related features effectively, and the abrupt mutation data processing method for environmental factors requires improvement. this study proposes an irrigation water requirement prediction method using a parallel Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Long Short-Term Memory network (LSTM) based on the Mann-Kendall test. In this study, the non-stationary data is segmented into subsequences based on the mutation points of meteorological data detected by the Mann-Kendall test. then, to satisfy the requirement of extracting the spatiotemporal information of input features, a parallel CNN-LSTM network is built. the CNN is used to reextract and down-sample the spatial information of features. Furthermore, the LSTM network is used for regression fitting in the time dimension to realize farmland irrigation water requirement prediction. Compared with CNN, LSTM, and CNNLSTM with data from 2020 to 2023 in Beijing, the results show that the proposed model can effectively improve the accuracy and stability of irrigation water requirement prediction. this study can provide a reference for intelligent water-saving irrigation and optimal allocation of water resources in irrigation areas.

As a representative error correction code, Reed-Solomon code is widely used in the related fields of information transmission and storage for its excellent performance. Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) is a mainstream hardware implementation solution. Although it has a high energy efficiency ratio, it has poor flexibility and cannot be applied to other communication environments. It needs to be redesigned and tape-out according to the application requirements, and the cost is enormous. Given the above problems, this paper proposes a coarse-grained reconfigurable processor suitable for RS encoding and decoding technology, which can meet the requirements of Forward Error Correction (FEC) technology in different communication scenarios. the design can conFigure RS codec circuits with different codes, different code lengths and different degrees of parallelism according to the instructions, and can support dynamic configuration of the processor under the condition that the total code length is constant and the signal code length is adjustable. there are broad application prospects in terms of flexibility.

the multi-dimensional (multi-D) discrete Fourier transform (DFT) has found a major application in analyzing the field of signal and image processing. the reconstruction of image plays a primary role in the field of signal processing for exploring different fields such as remote sensing, photography, industrial inspection, robotics, and medical diagnosis. the advancement in DFTs has given birth to fast Fourier transform (FFT) by making the system much faster in both 2D and multi-D. In this article, we present an efficient 64 × 64 point 2D FFT architecture with a radix-4 block structure. the designed structure is a parallel architecture that takes less computation time. the proposed design is implemented using the Vitex-7 FPGA tool with supplementary hardware. © 2021, the Editor(s) (if applicable) and the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Model checking on Pushdown Systems (PDSs) has been extensively used to deal with numerous practical problems. However, the existing model checkers for pushdown systems are executed on the central processing unit (CPU), the performance is hampered by the computing power of the CPU. Compared with the CPU, the graphics processing unit (GPU) has more processing cores, which are suitable and efficient for parallel computing. therefore, it is very attractive to accelerate model checking of PDSs on the GPU. In this paper, we present a new parallel model checker, named ParaMoC, to speed up the performance of model checking problems for pushdown systems (PDSs). Moreover, we focus on how to use Graphics processing Units (GPUs) to accelerate the reachability verification and the LTL model checking of PDSs. the ParaMoC running on a state-of-the-art GPU can be 100 times faster than the traditional PDS model checker.

High-Performance Computing (HPC) is a fundamental tool for improving the performance of many algorithms in terms of time, especially for large-scale problems. In the last years, various HPC architectures have been developed to quickly process data in many research areas and at the same time the HPC tools has become very important. In addition, the development of scientific libraries for parallel computing plays a key role in achieving better performance. In particular, thanks to the computational power of Graphic processing Units, themost popular and inexpensive accelerators, the parallel computing field has become almost a standard process for datamanagement. Hence, the porting of many standard numerical libraries on these architectures produced excellent results. In this work, we deal with a two-dimensional time fractional diffusion problem. More in detail, we analyze the performance of some parallel codes, specifically designed to solve it, implemented in different architectures. this research addresses the topic of inclusion with emphasis on Deaf people, exposing the concept of the application of engineering systems through the design of a voice graphing software developed in LabView® that is used as a practice tool in the oralization process of people born Deaf but with the ability to phonate, which, according to global data, places them at a social, cultural, labor and economic disadvantage. this tool works as a technological support parallel to the therapeutic process carried out by specialists, aiming to provide support that encourages the practice of vocalization and oralization using the software presented in this article. the results collected in this work are the product of a multidisciplinary research that began in 2019, which continues in a complementary process of testing and adjustments according to the observations of users and speech therapists. It is these people together who provide feedback on the design with the aim of obtaining a functional application that seeks to irrigate Technology Applied to Inclusion and Bioinformatics in Educational Institutions and in society in general. the efforts of this research contribute to objectives 3 and 10 of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, relating to Health and Well-being and Reduction of Inequalities.

Multi-hop Knowledge Reasoning is a task that involves generating an answer given a query and a knowledge graph. Existing sequence-to-sequence reasoning models use the Transformer to encode and decode sequences, but these models have some flaws, such as the inability to effectively handle long-sequence reasoning and susceptibility to exposure bias. To address these issues, we provides a sequence-to-sequence reasoning model named STSR, which is based on Retentive Network. Aiming at improving training efficiency through parallel training, this model leverages the advantages in Retentive Network, reduce time overhead, and enhance reasoning efficiency through iterative reasoning. It effectively mitigates the problems of high spatial overhead and low efficiency in long-sequence reasoning faced by the Transformer. Moreover, it retains and updates historical information during the encoding and decoding process, enhancing the model’s memory and generalization capabilities. Additionally, the Scheduled Sampling method is adopted to alleviate the exposure bias introduced during reasoning, which involves using the model’s own output as the input for the next moment with a certain probability during training, instead of using the true label. We conduct the experiment on six public datasets, with the results showing that the proposed model outperforms existing baseline models in terms of precision and generation quality. this paper provides a new solution for the task of sequence-to-sequence multihop knowledge reasoning and also demonstrates the potential application of the Retentive Network in natural language processing.

Tangle is a novel directed acyclic graph (DAG)-based distributed ledger preferred over traditional linear ledgers in blockchain applications because of better transaction throughput. Earlier techniques have mostly focused on comparing the performance of graph chains over linear chains and incorporating the Markov Chain Monte Carlo process in probabilistic traversals to detect unverified transactions in DAG chains. In this paper, we present a parallel detection method for unverified transactions. Experimental evaluation of the proposed parallel technique demonstrates a significant, scalable average speed-up of close to 70%, and a peak speed-up of approximately 73% for a large number of transactions.

Vehicle Routing Problems (VRPs) are well-know combinatorial optimization problems used to design an optimal route for a fleet of vehicles to service a set of customers under a number of constraints. Due to their NP-hard complexity, a number of purely computational techniques have been proposed in recent years in order to solve them. Among these techniques, nature-inspired algorithms have proven their effectiveness in terms of accuracy and convergence speed. Some of these methods are also designed in such a way to decompose the basic problem into a number of sub-problems which are subsequently solved in parallel computing environments. It is therefore the purpose of this paper to review the fresh corpus of the literature dealing with the main approaches proposed over the past few years to solve combinatorial optimization problems in general and, in particular, the VRP and its different variants. Bibliometric and review studies are conducted with a special attention paid to metaheuristic strategies involving procedures with parallel architectures. the obtained results show an expansion of the use of parallel algorithms for solving various VRPs. Nevertheless, the regression in the number of citations in this framework proves that the interest of the research community has declined somewhat in recent years. this decline may be explained by the lack of rigorous mathematical results and practical interfaces under famous calculation softwares.
