the optimization methods can be applied to design large scale mechanical systems. One popular method for increasing the efficiency of large scale design optimization problem is a hierarchical decomposition of the problem into a number of sub problems each with its own objective function, constraints, and design variables. then each and every sub problem is optimized by using a powerful tool known as genetic algorithm, to get required optimum solutions. the solutions obtained from sub problems are used to get the required global optimum solution of a large and complex design problem. A well known speed reducer is considered as an example to illustrate the application of the above parallel processing method. Speed reducer includes gear, pinion, two shafts, four bearings enclosed in housing. the design objective is to minimize the overall volume, where 7 variables and 25 constraints are considered. Purpose of I&C (instrumentation and control) system is monitor and control of processing procedure and equipment for reaching main goal of nuclear power plant (NPP) electric energy generation providing nuclear and radiological safety and economic efficiency of processing procedure. One of the main functions of NPP I&C system is control of technological processes in nuclear unit equipment via automatic regulators providing optimality of electric energy generation process. algorithms of I&C systems, especially laws of control, are realized on hardware and software complex TPTS. A great number of automatic regulators are used in process of electric energy generation on NPP. Despite nuclear units are standard (they have same reactor system project), they have unique characteristics nuclear units differ by technological characteristics of reactor system equipment and technological equipment providing electric energy generation process control. that is why parameters of respective automatic regulators for each nuclear unit are corrected after theoretical calculations in nuclear unit checkout process that cause specific economic and energetic losses. For solving this problem in this paper modem methods of NPP automatic regulators parameters setting are considered such as "intelligent" control system (based on neural networks and fuzzy logic) and using of analytical simulators of NPP nuclear units, which are used for researches of reactor system physics and researches of behavior of technological equipment respective nuclear unit. Retinex image enhancement algorithm occupies an important position in eliminating image uneven exposure, low contrast, and smog influence. However, with the increasing of image resolution, the real-time performance of the serial Retinex algorithm has not satisfied the requirements of practical applications. this paper proposes an OpenMP-based parallel Retinex algorithm. the parallelism of the Retinex algorithm is first identified by theoretical analyses. then, the time-consuming sub-algorithms such as Gaussian convolution and exponential transformation, of the serial algorithm are designed and executed in parallel. On Tianhe-2 supercomputer platform, the experimental results show that the speedup of the parallel algorithm is significantly improved, and the test image set achieves an average speedup of 12. It indicates that the parallel algorithm can satisfy the needs of real-time processing in image enhancement field. © 2019, IFIP international Federation for Information processing.

this paper presents a telemedicine hardware/software platform for data acquisition, communication, processing, presentation and storage, aimed to remotely monitor lifestyle, vital signs and in general the clinical status of patients affected by chronic diseases. Such platform is useful to support an innovative ICT-based application of the Chronic Care Model (CCM). the platform exploits wearable sensors, a BT/BLE connectivity to the local gateway and then a connection, using standard formats and cyber-secure protocols, to a server-based application and repository. the platform allows clinicians and practitioners to realize aggravations and act promptly, before they become irreversible and lead to hospitalization. the system also implements data analysis, by processing multiple parameters in parallel. As well as monitoring the state of health, the proposed telemedicine platform can be also used to monitor the emotional and psychological state of the patient.

Accessing data with low latency is a major issue for big data platforms. Some platforms use a Multiget method when accessing data. the Multiget method can be used efficiently when a server should seek data with multiple keys or many single get requests are waiting in a command queue. the method is implemented to access multiple blocks of data using multiple keys. In this research, we developed MPMG, a novel multipath Multiget method for a solid state drive (SSD)-based key-value storage. In MPMG, we use the open source key-value storage RocksDB, which was developed by Facebook and is one of the most representative key-value NoSQL stores. Current RocksDB system cannot fully utilize the internal parallelism of SSD. the MPMG method was designed to leverage ssd internal parallelism and access data in SSD with parallel approach. the ability to support the parallel access inside SSD is efficient for performance. With multipath approach, the SSD can fully exploit its bandwidth, compared to the original approach. In an experiment, this method showed improvements in speed and throughput. the elapsed time for processing decreased up to 80.

In this paper, we obtain the tight upper bound on the number of non-dominated fronts in a population. In general, the maximum number of non-dominated fronts in a population of size N can be N and the minimum number of non-dominated fronts can be 1. However, without sorting the entire population, it is very difficult to obtain an upper bound on the number of fronts. Here, we present an algorithm to obtain the tight upper bound on the number of non-dominated fronts and also prove that the time complexity of obtaining the upper bound is O(MN logN) where M is the number of objectives associate with each solution in the population. At the end we propose the parallel version of our approach and also prove the space and time complexities of the parallel version.

the increasing availability of high-resolution geospatiotemporal data sets from sources such as observatory networks, remote sensing platforms, and computational Earth system models has opened new possibilities for knowledge discovery and mining of weather, climate, ecological, and other geoscientific data sets fused from disparate sources. Many of the standard tools used on individual workstations are impractical for the analysis and synthesis of data sets of this size;however, new algorithmic approaches that can effectively utilize the complex memory hierarchies and the extremely high levels of parallelism available in state-of-the-art high-performance computing platforms can enable such analysis. Here, we describe pKluster, an open-source tool we have developed for accelerated k-means clustering of geospatial and geospatiotemporal data, and discuss algorithmic modifications and code optimizations we have made to enable it to effectively use parallel machines based on novel CPU architectures-such as the Intel Knights Landing Xeon Phi and Skylake Xeon processors-with many cores and hardware threads, and employing significant single instruction, multiple data (SIMD) parallelism. We outline some applications of the code in ecology and climate science contexts and present a detailed discussion of the performance of the code for one such application, LiDAR-derived vertical vegetation structure classification.
