Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) is revolutionizing the field of higher education by leveraging deep learning models to generate human-like content. However, the use of GenAI in education raises ethical concerns such as the potential impact on critical thinking skills and the unethical or dishonest use by students. this paper analyzed the main problems existing in engineering courses in Chinese universities firstly and then proposed corresponding teaching reform measures based on the comprehensive consideration of the benefits and threats of GenAI. We applied the proposed teaching reform measures in the teaching of engineering courses, which greatly improved the teaching quality. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Single-carrier frequency domain contention (S-FDC) is an efficient wireless contention mechanism based on orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM). In each round of S-FDC, each node randomly selects and signals on one of the OFDM subcarriers while listening to all subcarriers simultaneously. Each node independently detects the activated subcarrier with the smallest index and regards it as the winner subcarrier. Accurately detecting the winner subcarrier is crucial to ensuring the functionality of the network. However, it is extremely difficult in practice due to power leakage problems that arise from frequency asynchronization among nodes. In this paper, we propose a gated-recurrent-unit (GRU)-based model that incorporates S-FDC’s unique features as domain knowledge to enable accurate winner subcarrier detection. Extensive simulation experiments verify that our DL model is effective and outperforms state of the art. this research highlights the potential of DL in improving wireless communication systems. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

the development of the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) is penetrating many economies around the globe. Various researchers in both industry and academia are looking into more efficient management of both vehicles and related data processing aspects. A vast trend related to the latter part is the distributed data processing of the transmitted data. this article discusses approaches to the use of blockchain technology in ITS. It explores the use of blockchain in modern transport industries. Particularly, the paper proposes a novel approach to the maintenance of public transportation vehicles or buses. the specificity of the proposed approach is the autonomous control of the technical condition using information systems. When using blockchain technology, building a transparent vehicle fleet management system is possible. the specificity of the proposed approach lies in the approach to data processing: in the organization, confidence in data increases, the possibility of manipulating transportation is eliminated, and the decision-making chain is reduced. As a result, the system can manage itself. It also helps to increase the service life of vehicles, makes it possible to predict their malfunctions and improves the quality of data on their technical condition. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence, big data, and generative AI models has ushered in significant transformations across various sectors, including education. Digital Human Technique, an innovative technology grounded in advanced computer science and artificial intelligence, is reshaping educational paradigms by enabling virtual humans to simulate human behavior, express emotions, and interact with users. this paper explores the application of Digital Human Technique in education reform, focusing on creating immersive, intelligent classroom experiences that foster meaningful interactions between teachers and students. We define Digital Human Technique and delve into its key technical components such as character modeling and rendering, natural language processing, computer vision, and augmented reality technologies. Our methodology involves analyzing the role of educational digital humans created through these technologies, assessing their impact on educational processes, and examining various application scenarios in educational reform. Results indicate that Digital Human Technique significantly enhances the learning experience by enabling personalized teaching, increasing engagement, and fostering emotional connections. Educational digital humans serve as virtual teachers, interactive learning aids, and facilitators of emotional interaction, effectively addressing the challenges of traditional educational methods. they also promote a deeper understanding of complex concepts through simulated environments and interactive digital content. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Based on the MPXV Clade IIb cases in Taiwan, 175 segments were identified from OPG001 to OPG210. the first focus of this paper is on sequence analysis of the MPXV cases in Taiwan, detailing the procedures, including semi-automated segmentation and dataset creation from a large number of MPXV Clade IIb nucleotide sequences found in the NCBI and GISAID databases. the second feature highlights the pioneering establishment of an MPXV Clade IIb RNA 2nd structure image dataset in Taiwan, as such a dataset does not yet exist globally. the third characteristic involves the use of unsupervised learning methods for the rapid clustering of MPXV Clade IIb RNA 2nd structure images. this approach allows not only for the quick detection and clustering of unknown MPXV Clade IIb cases but also for the rapid identification of new MPXV mutations and structural changes. Compared to traditional sequence analysis, this new hybrid systematic method significantly enhances overall efficiency, improving processing speed by at least 24 hours when handling the alignment of 10 MPXV sequences from Taiwan. Future plans include using this prototype analytical model and method to accelerate the analysis of critical lethal factors in MPXV Clade IIb, such as D14L, ultimately helping biologists reduce the time required for analysis and antiviral drug development. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Image denoising, a critical process in computer vision, aims to restore high-quality images from their noisy counterparts. Significant progress in this field has been made possible by the emergence of various effective deep learning models. However, these methods are typically confined to processing within the single-domain and exhibit weak performance in preserving detailed information, hindering their practical application. To address this issue, we propose an efficient Dual-Domain information Fusion Network (DIFNet) for image denoising. Specifically, we design an aggregate frequency domain and spatial domain network to capture and fuse the detailed information. the DIFNet employs a Dual-Domain Feature Fusion Module (DFFM) to integrate the extracted dual-domain information, facilitating the recalibration of weights between the spatial and frequency domains, thereby emphasizing and restoring detailed information. In the DFFM, frequency domain information is extracted through a Frequency Domain Attention Module (FDAM), while spatial domain information is acquired via the convolutional blocks in the image denoising baseline model NAFNet. Experimental results demonstrate that the dual-domain denoising method can recover more detail while maintaining denoising performance. Furthermore, the proposed method outperforms state-of-the-art approaches on widely used benchmarks, highlighting its superior performance.

the information retrieval system helps users find relevant information from large knowledge bases according to their search requests. With the massive growth of medical and health information, the problem of medical and health information retrieval has attracted the attention of the industry and academia. In order to improve the performance of medical and health information retrieval, a medical and health information retrieval method based on natural language processing is proposed. Based on the Chinese word segmentation model framework of dictionary enhanced graph convolution network, the medical and health information retrieval language word segmentation processing is implemented. the TTSimhash algorithm in natural language processing technology is used to calculate the word similarity and find the extended words of conditional keywords. Design a relevance retrieval method of query documents based on BERT multi-level information structure to achieve medical and health information retrieval. the test results show that the design method MAP@k is higher. © ICST Institute for computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering 2025.
