this study introduces an approach to forensic bone age estimation by employing a multimodal fusion strategy within a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) architecture. the challenge of low-quality images in the dataset is addressed through the incorporation of the Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE) preprocessing technique, effectively enhancing image quality and bolstering model accuracy. Furthermore, efficient net transfer learning techniques are implemented for additional refinement. the validation of the proposed method, assessed using Mean Squared Error (MSE) and the coefficient of determination R2 score, demonstrates compelling results with an MSE value of 18.21 and an R2 score of 0.59. these outcomes surpass those of existing methods, highlighting the superior accuracy and robustness of our framework. this marks a significant advancement in forensic bone age estimation. © 2023 IEEE.

Several path key setup strategies make the assumption that node capture attacks are equally likely to affect every node in a wireless sensor network. However, in crucial applications like border surveillance and crisis management, this supposition might not hold true, making such schemes unworkable. In order to lower the issue of key exposure, this article suggests an attack matrix (AM) that determines the attack coefficient of sensor nodes based on where they are located in the sensor field. the disjoint path key establishment is an attack-resilient path key establishment method that is developed using the AM. the suggested scheme outperforms the current path key establishment technique in terms of performance, and the likelihood of key recovery and the path compromise ratio are used to confirm that they are resistant to node capture. the outcomes show how well the suggested strategies work to lessen the effects of node capture. © 2023 IEEE.

the Advanced Weather Monitoring and Disaster Mitigation System is an essential resource for enhanced preparedness and response to unexpected events. It applies modern methods to show us dynamic weather images, detect regions susceptible to flooding, and present us with interactive weather maps. It is able of forecasting the intensity of an impending drought. these stupendous pictures and weather forecasts can assist everyone, including the public and authorities, make educated decisions and get ready for bad weather. In the case of flooding, the technology can detect high-risk areas, allowing officials to prepare ahead of time and safely evacuate citizens. It also looks for drainage problems before they cause disastrous flooding. By providing up-to-date information on local shelters, the system helps people find safe havens throughout emergencies. the alternative drought forecast may help farmers and water managers plan more effectively during dry spells. All of these components work together to protect us and lowered the effects of natural disasters. © 2024 IEEE.

this paper presents a novel approach for mitigating biases in news recommendation systems while also incorporating a user's personal preferences to provide a personalised recommendations. the proposed hybrid content and collaborative-based filtering system ranks news categories according to weights based on user history, resulting in a recommendation system that recommends news articles from a purely unbiased perspective. the method of 'preference correction' is incorporated to further recommend articles that the user will also prefer to read, improving the overall user experience. this approach can be applied to any news dataset that collects user impressions and has the potential to enhance awareness among readers and burst filter bubbles. © 2023 IEEE.

Along with the networking and automation of smart vehicles and the accelerated application of information and communication technologies, Controller Area Network (CAN) has become the most commonly used protocol in automotive bus networks, but it cannot protect the in-vehicle network from attacks because it does not provide a security system against network and physical attacks, so it is necessary to develop anomaly detection countermeasures to secure the CAN bus. this article proposes a CAN bus anomaly detection model for masquerade attacks, mining the distribution characteristics of each byte of Data messages of all IDs without the bus message identification function, combining the information entropy of message IDs to compose a new data set;introducing a focal loss function to improve the XGBoost algorithm for the case of sample imbalance, and realizing the FLXGBoost-based algorithm. the experimental results show that the anomaly detection model has a high accuracy rate in resisting tampered data domain messages. © 2021 IEEE.

Advanced biometric identification techniques are becoming increasingly necessary in response to rising security requirements. the limits of conventional facial recognition systems have been further brought to light by the COVID-19 outbreak and its emphasis on mask-wearing. utilizing periocular pictures, this study proposes an integrated technique to improve gender categorization and biometric identification utilizing Vision Transformers (ViTs), YOLOv7, DeepSort, and Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs). Our findings indicate that the combined application of these technologies results in a system that is both robust and accurate, particularly in challenging environments. the proposed methodology demonstrates a notable improvement in identification accuracy, with a precision rate exceeding 95%. With this research, secure identification technologies will advance significantly, and non-intrusive, contactless biometric devices will continue to be developed. the findings suggest that the application of these cutting-edge techniques has the potential to completely transform security procedures in industries including public safety, healthcare, and finance. © 2024 IEEE.

the paper describes the execution of a smart solar PV charge controller that exploits the operational capacity of the Raspberry Pi. Modern solar panel technology, boost and buck converters, battery storage and a DC motor load are all included in the system. the Raspberry Pi serves as the central component, facilitating simple control and information sharing amongst the various components. To optimise energy flow to the battery, a buck converter regulates voltage, a boost converter efficiently extracts power from the solar panel, and advanced algorithms are used in the charge controller. Real-time monitoring of the battery's level of charge ensures maximum performance and durability by preventing overcharging or deep draining. In addition, the charge controller regulates the power delivered to the DC motor load, providing a stable and consistent power source. By using the intelligence of the Raspberry Pi, the system enhances the efficiency of solar energy collection and utilisation in off-grid scenarios, thereby contributing to sustainable energy solutions. © 2024 IEEE.

this research attempts to predict the academic success of a student using Machine Learning algorithms and a thorough strategy that takes into account a variety of variables that affect students' results. the study examines a large dataset that contains information on the socioeconomic situation, involvement, and academic success of the students. To create predictive models that is able to find out the student who is at an academic risk of quitting and offer timely interventions to enhance their academic performance and prevent dropout, machine learning methods like Classifier based on Random Forest, Classifier Based on Decision Trees, Classifier using Logistic Regression, Voting based Classifier, and others will be used. To enhance students' achievement and raise the standard of education, policy decisions and resource allocation can be made using the knowledge gathered from the analysis. © 2023 IEEE.

the rapid depletion of fossil fuel reserves coupled with the ever-increasing demand for electrical power has prompted the search for new energy sources. Electric vehicles (EVs) are one potential answer because of the technology that allows for more efficient transportation while simultaneously reducing fossil fuel usage and emissions of greenhouse chemicals. Depending on the power system's capability, structure, and architecture, several studies have shown that the distribution network may be negatively affected by the widespread interconnection of electric vehicles. Consequently, it is important to determine the effects of this additional load on the network so that measures can be taken to prevent threats to the system's stability, dependability, and security, especially because the Indian federal and state governments have introduced incentives to increase sales of this type of vehicle. © 2024 IEEE.
