Fault detection in novel distribution systems has been a big challenge with increasing distributed generation. Addition of non-linear devices has increased the rate of fault occurrence and thus a need to identify and rectify the fault with in a short interval. Inclusion of smart devices such as smart meters and PMU(s) can help a lot in reducing the fault detection time. Since most of the fault detection algorithms use iteration and a number of assumptions of the network topology, often the difference between the calculated fault distance and the real fault distance is huge. In the case of micro grid a single fault can result in more than one fault directions. Using petri nets can be of great use for fault detection as it has some major advantages. Petri nets don't use iterations and can precisely narrow down the fault depending upon the input data. A distribution network has been taken and simulated for both single and multiple fault instance. the algorithm was found to be simple and efficient. It can take information from protection device too which in aver all makes it a much more cost efficient method to challenge fault detection.

Of the remaining students, quite often they drop out or fail in their second or third year of studies. the purpose of this investigation is to identify the factors that serve as good indicators of whether a student will drop out or fail the program. In order to establish early warning indicators, principal component analysis is used to analyze, in the first instance, first-year engineering student academic records. these performance predictors, if identified, can then be used effectively to formulate corrective action plans to improve the attrition rate.

this paper presents a new bottom-up framework for programming a humanoid robot which keeps the control systems simple and manageable while still providing a broad variety of possible tasks. Firstly, the framework implies an approach for the creation and execution of skills on a humanoid robot. A skill is a small, specialized, task specific object which contains not only data but also active components like algorithms which are able to interpret and modify the data under the consideration of the changing environment. Secondly, the framework provides an mechanism for the temporal coordination of a humanoid robot. this mechanism uses Petri-nets extended by callback and trigger functions to describe the identified features of coordinated movements. the Petri-net is not only used for modeling but also for the implementation - it describes and executes coordinated movements. the framework provides furthermore a mechanism for the resource management of a humanoid robot-which allows the parallel execution of skills and the supervision of their execution. the proposed framework is evaluated in the sample application of a fetch and carry task requiring a coordinated movement of hand, arm and head.

In recent years, advances in motion detection, tracking, and classification have made applications in telerehabilition possible. Monitoring of the elderlies and physically impaired, sports medicine, and physical therapy, are some of the active research areas in telerehabilition. Furthermore, the gaming industry has provided some low-cost devices to track motion with reasonable accuracy;thus, making telerehabilition a reality for patients who need it. this project investigates the feasibility of using the Nintindo Wii Remote Controller as a handheld device that patients can use to perform repetitive motions in physical therapy sessions in a telerehabilitation setting. Patients can use such an instructional (or e-learning) system at home without the cost, effort, and time associated with visiting a medical office. At the same time, the public health care system also benefits from the deployment of these telerehabilitation systems.
