A large variety of modern technologies fade the borders between the cyber and the physical worlds. Nonetheless, the two-dimensional architecture of cyber-physical systems also enabled the proliferation of innovative attacks where traditional computer systems malware caused significant damages to physical infrastructures, such as the power grid. In this work, we propose a methodology that provides optimal intervention strategies for fixing vulnerabilities discovered in production cyber-physical systems. the main goal of the technique is to decrease the risk of vulnerabilities being exploited by malicious actors, by leveraging risk modeling together with advanced job scheduling algorithms. the proposal is evaluated through use cases from the healthcare domain.

During the planning of communication networks, the routing decision process (distributed and online) often remains decoupled from the network design process, that is, resource installation and allocation-planning process (centralized and offline). To reconcile both processes and take into account demand variability, we generalize the capacitated multicommodity fixed charge network design class of problems by including different types of fixed costs (installation and maintenance costs) and variable costs (routing costs) but also variable traffic demands over multiple periods. However, conventional integer programming methods can typically solve only small to medium size instances of this problem. Two major difficulties are encountered when using commercial solvers to solve the associated mixed integer programs: (i) problems are large scale and even solving the linear relaxation of the problem can be challenging;and (ii) the solver hardly find good feasible solutions for medium to large scale instances. As an alternative, we propose a Lagrangian approach for computing a lower bound by relaxing the flow conservation constraints such that the Lagrangian subproblem itself decomposes by node. though this approach yields one subproblem per network node, solving the Lagrangian dual by means of the bundle method remains a complex computational tasks. However, it always provides a lower bound on the optimal solution. Moreover, based on this relaxation, we propose a Lagrangian heuristic that makes the approach more robust than a black-box usage of a Mixed Integer programming (MIP) solver. the United Nations agenda for sustainable development by the year 2030 proposes 17 sustainable development goals which include access to affordable, reliable and clean energy, sustained economic growth with full productive employment and, urgent action to mitigate environmental degradation. Planning for sustainable development requires integrating conflicting criteria on economy, energy, environment and social aspects. In this paper, we introduce a Weighted Goal programming model involving criteria on the economic development (GDP), the electricity consumption, the greenhouse gas emissions, and the total number of employees to determine optimal labor allocation across various economic sectors. the proposed model is validated with data from the six members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (namely Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates). the results of the model aim to provide empirical evidence and insights to decision makers and policy analysts in developing optimal strategies able to simultaneously satisfy energy demand, economic growth, labor development and reduction in greenhouse gas emissions to achieve sustainability targets by the year 2030. On the basis of input-output method a general model is built for analyzing the change in cost and profit of power consumers due to participating in demand response(DR). According to the basic principle of the input-output model the authors analyse the quantitative relationship between the various components of enterprise, determine the amount of material consumption of the internal product. the influence of price-based and incentive-based DR on the normal production of enterprises was analysed from the aspects of labor cost, price change and production interruption. And the benefit of enterprises' participation in DR was analysed by factors including the times, duration, and load curtailment of DR and other factors. Based on this model, the enterprise production optimization model with profit maximization as the objective function is established to provide decision-making for the enterprises to participate in the DR and adjust the production plan. And both effectiveness and advantage of the proposed model were verified by actual data of a certain industrial customer.

In order to overcome the shortcomings of agricultural machinery development such as the development cycle is long and the workload is heavy, a DEM-based digital design platform for agricultural machinery-AgriDEM is designed and implemented. this platform can simulate, analyze and evaluate the working process of agricultural machinery through integrating CAD with a self-developed calculation software that base on the coupling of DEM-CFD-MBK (Discrete Element Method, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Multi-body Kinematics), thus, the structure and dimensional parameter can be optimized in the design phase. the architecture of this platform is described in detail in this paper. Also, the implementation methods of the key technologies including the modeling method of particle and boundary analysis model, the parallel computing method based on OpenMP, the module encapsulation method based on DLL and the development method of prototype system are introduced. Finally, the feasibility and the effectiveness of this platform are confirmed through the given testing instance.

the progressive electrification of the worldwide vehicle fleet is leading to an increasing importance of electric motors in the automotive industry. Many automobile manufacturers therefore integrate the production of electric motors into their value chain and expand capacities to maintain the level of value creation and quality leadership. Process technologies necessary for the electric motor production are gradually replacing well-known process technologies in the automotive industry. While traditional process technologies are providing maximum process control regarding cycle times and reject rate (capable processes) within the framework of six sigma, process technologies of the electric motor production cannot keep up withthe existing requirements of process control. For optimization, the stochastic elements of each incapable process must be identifiable. the objective of this paper is to present a method for identifying and evaluating process technologies of the electric motor production based on the process capability requirements of the automotive industry. It is shown that automotive production processes, which were deterministic, are facing high stochastic variations. In contrast to traditional production processes the output cannot be calculated in advance, but only retrospectively determined by intensive functional testing. Additionally, efficiency deficits occur through increased cycle times and a high reject rate. A ramp-up of production with finally capable processes and predictable process outputs is therefore complex, time-consuming and cost-intensive. thus, this paper presents a model to identify needs for action in the process chain of electric motor production regarding predictability and process control.
