Community discovery in complex network has become an interesting topic in recent years. Multi-objective optimizations can entirely handle community discovery problem instead of single objective optimizations. thus a multi-objective genetic algorithm approach is proposed for community discovery in complex networks in this paper. We improved MOGA-Net [1] proposed by Pizzuti by applying effective searching on search space at genetic algorithm steps. We tested our approach and achieved better results on synthetic networks and real life networks.

the paper provides a concept of GNU-Prolog integration with PHP using ANSI C socket server as a middleware. Web application programming becomes more and more important issue. the meaning of HTTP based applications grows together with popularity of the internet. there ware a few methods of integration web programming together with CLP proposed so far. the simplest and most obvious way is to run CLP program in CGI mode, but it has disadvantages as well. For some appliance CLP programs can have long execution time that could cause web server timeouts. For that reason a new approach is proposed: to separate user interface (web based) from CLP program execution. that goal is achieved by means of socket server written in ANSI C. One of popular CLP tools used in general purpose is the GNU-Prolog, besides it is quite well documented and distributed under convenient license too. Together with PHP scripts it could give users powerful and easy to use environment to build web based applications that use CLP technique. the present paper describes the attempt of finding a good way to work PHP together with GNU-Prolog.

Increment of load demands will cause voltage decay in the system which may lead to voltage collapse and increase thermal effect to transmission line in the system. thus, reactive power support is one of the alternative available schemes that can be performed to the system other than employing installing compensating devices. One of the choices is optimal reactive power dispatched (RPD). Operating all generators for performing reactive power support to a power system may lead to non-economical results which is rather unnecessary. therefore, effort should be taken in order to avoid all generators from full operational in the attempt to raise the voltage level and improve the voltage stability condition in the system. this paper presents a new approach for selecting the operating generator performed optimally using Evolutionary programming (EP) technique in power system. the proposed technique determines the best combination of generator that should be dispatched in the system considering loss minimization or voltage stability improvement. Implementation on the proposed technique was realized on the IEEE 30-bus RTS. Complete implementations on numerous combinations have been conducted and results indicated that the proposed technique revealed the best combination of the operating generators for improving voltage stability in the system.

In this paper, we presents a novel approach for solving economic dispatch (ED) problems with nonconvex cost functions using a hybrid differential evolution and harmony search (DEHS). the DEHS method is an improved differential evolution method based on the harmony search scheme. the DEHS method has the flexible adjustment of the parameters to get a better optimal solution. Moreover, an effective constraint handling framework in the method is employed for properly handling equality and inequality constraints of the problem. the proposed DEHS has been tested on three systems with 40, 15 and 140 units and the obtained results from DEHS algorithm have been compared to those from other methods in the literature. the result comparison has indicated that the proposed DEHS method is more effective than many other methods for obtaining the optimal solution for the test systems. therefore, the proposed DEHS is a very favorable method for solving the nonconvex ED problems.

In this paper, we are concerned with optimized linear precoding strategies for multiple-input multiple-output interference channels (MIMO-IFC). Under practical transmission power constraints, we aim at maximizing the sum-information-rate. To date, most developments could not directly address this problem. Instead, intermediate problems of simplification have been considered by means of alternating optimization, which fails to jointly optimize all the concerned variables. In this paper, we directly solve this problem by exploring its hidden d.c. (difference of convex functions) structure. the recast problem can be iteratively solved by d.c. iterations (DCIs), which guarantees the convergence to at least a local optimum. Numerical simulation results show that the proposed solutions offer improved performance.
