A Binary Integer Linear Programing (BILP) model was used to find the Fuzzy Critical Path (FCP) of a fuzzy project network, when the lengths of all activities are represented as Octagonal Fuzzy Numbers (OFN). Although there are many methods to solve the fuzzy network problems, this paper presents the simplest method for the purpose of estimating the CP, especially, when every path activity is expressed by an OFN in the fuzzy network problems. the OFN of each activity converted to the crisp one using a modified ranking approach. A numerical example of a fuzzy network problem is given to illustrated the steps of the method were the OFN of each activity represented the time needed to complete implementation of that activity. the same example is solved by using CP Method (CPM). this is considered to be one of the leading standard methods of solving such problems. this paper presents a comparison of results of the two methods.

Ultra-reliable and low-latency (URLLC) communication has attracted much attention because of the difficulties in meeting the requirement of extremely high reliability and low latency simultaneously. To reduce latency, short packet transmission is taken into consideration. In this paper, the resource allocation problem for 5G URLLC in cooperative industrial networks is first investigated under short packet transmission. the resource allocation problem is formulated as an integer programming problem withthe objective of minimizing the average error probability of the system, while guaranteeing the latency constraint. To solve the challenging problem, a joint optimal relay assignment and blocklength allocation (JRABA) algorithm is proposed, which alternately optimizes the relay assignment and blocklength allocation subproblems. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of the JRABA algorithm that supports the reliable transmission in low latency network by revealing the impact of various system parameters on the average error probability.

Segment Routing is increasingly being used in net- work traffic scheduling, while the number of delay-sensitive services in the network is increasing. However, calculating a segment list based on bandwidth alone is not good enough for scheduling experiment-sensitive services. In this paper, we calculate a segment list with delay guarantee effect in two steps. In the first step, an auxiliary graph is constructed by extracting some of the nodes in the network to reduce the network topology complexity, and in the second step, the segment list is calculated by Bellman–Ford algorithm based on the auxiliary graph and the link weights derived from the delay algorithm. We also construct a test environment based on programming Protocol-independent Packet Processors (P4) to verify that the segment list generation algorithm proposed in this paper can optimize the delay of traffic.

Since several alternative energy technologies have become commercially available, distributed generators are often of a renewable nature. this paper proposes a two-stage approach to determine optimal alternative electricity generation mix. An optimal composition and capacities of generation units of different types are determined by means of the simplex method. Alongside withthat, the problems of power losses minimization and voltage stability of distribution networks are also addressed. A backward-forward sweep method is applied for optimal sizing and placement of distributed energy resources. the IEEE 33-bus test system is employed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Software Defined Networking (SDN) separates the data plane and the control plane in the traditional network, and the data plane communicates withthe control plane through standard protocols. Withthe development of SDN, there are many southbound communication protocols in academia, such as OpenFlow, Protocol Oblivious Forwarding (POF), programming protocol-independent packet processors (P4). the design ideas and implementation of these protocols are very different. therefore, many controllers provide some high-level Application programming Interfaces (API) supporting different protocols to shield the complexity of the protocol and facilitate the writing of network strategies, but none of them can support different southbound protocols at the runtime. that is, the controller can’t support a variety of different protocols while the data plane has kinds of switches. For example, Open Network Operating System (ONOS) supports P4 and OpenFlow, but it can only support a specific data plane at the runtime, so it cannot combine the strengths and advantages of different types of programmable switches. this paper proposes a unified programming model that can support boththe P4 and POF protocols at the runtime so that network users can combine the high performance of the P4 and the flexibility of the POF. We also provide kinds of API to facilitate the writing of network strategies. In certain application scenarios, the losing of data packets caused by updating the data plane pipeline can be effectively eliminated withthe programming model.

this paper presents the development of a new hybrid optimization technique termed as Immune-Commensal-Evolutionary programming (ICEP) and its implementation to solve non-smooth/ non-convex Economic Dispatch (ED) problem. ICEP is developed withthe objective to overcome the drawbacks of single optimization techniques like evolutionary programming (EP), Artificial Immune System (AIS) and Symbiotic Organisms Search (SOS). the idea of developing this ICEP technique is to gather the strengths from the three single optimization techniques: EP, AIS and SOS to form a new hybrid technique that can solve non-smooth/non-convex ED problem accurately. this hybrid technique has better performance in finding the global optima of non-smooth/non-convex ED problem compared to the single optimization techniques. the typical drawback of the single optimization techniques is immature convergence, especially EP and AIS techniques. ICEP can avoid this from happening by thoroughly directing the searching process to its global optima. the proposed ICEP technique has been tested on the IEEE 30-Bus Reliability Test System (RTS) and IEEE 57-Bus Reliability Test System (RTS) withthree case studies. the dial-a-ride problem (DARP) is an NP-Hard problem related to transportation on demand, that consists in a set of requests for pick-up and delivery from passengers that need to be served by a limited set of available vehicles. In this paper, We study a static version of DARP with a time window. the goal is to determine an optimized route for taxis in order to serve passengers. Using an objective function that imposes penalties to assess the preferences of passengers, taking into account the driver's preferences to reach a specific destination at a specific time. For our tests, we generated instances derived from standard DARP instances. A solution approach based on the ILS algorithm is presented and applied to solve these instances.
