the paper is devoted to application of Cartesian Genetic programming (CGP) for generating optimal trajectories of a mobile robots group. the problem of a control system synthesis for a mobile robots group is solved. the proposed algorithm uses numerical approach from the class of symbolic regression methods to which Cartesian Genetic programming belonging. It allows to receive a control function in the form of a mathematical expression. We consider several stages to get optimal trajectories for mobile robots group moving along which the robots wouldn't collide with each other and obstacles. Initially, we solve the problem of synthesis for each robot in order to get the stabilized robot control system relative some point in the state space. At the second stage, spatial trajectories are found along which robots move from the current state to the obtained equilibrium points without collisions. It was proposed to improve an initial algorithm by using the principal of small variation of basic solution. there is considered a group of three robots and the control system for them with phase constraints in the paper.

the vehicle routing problem (VRP) is that of finding the optimal routes for a number of vehicles (trucks) to serve a set of customers, withthe goal of minimizing the total transportation cost. Due to the different sizes and nature of customer orders and different capacities of trucks, an order might be split onto more than one truck. the problem then becomes not only of finding the optimal routes, but further of how to divide the orders between trucks. In this paper, the VRP with split strategy, considering heterogeneous fleet and orders is approached. the problem was first formulated as a mixed integer programming model (MILP) with a total transportation cost minimization objective. Due to the complexity of the problem, a two-phase solution algorithm was further proposed to solve the problem. the algorithm first constructs the routes sequentially based on the savings function, then it employs a 2-opt algorithm to improve the routes. the algorithm was applied to solve the problem for a fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) distribution company. Results indicated that the algorithm is able to minimize the number of required trucks and satisfy all customer orders, while minimizing the transportation cost.

the economic growth in thailand has occurred in many areas, there are the infrastructure and megaprojects are produced by the government and the private sector. Although, the construction project favors to use the ready-mixed concrete for main structures work. But the facility's location of the ready-mix concrete plant exists in the area is not suitably distributed for responding service at the demand point. However, it caused damage to the business because there was not a good plan for setting up the ready- mixed concrete plant facilities. the objective of this paper is to find the least number of the ready-mix concrete plant and it can be suitably the facility location that covers all expected demand nodes. the method used for searching locations of this work is the optimization modeling by using mixed integer programming with a set covering problem (LSCP) approach. Besides, we applicated this problem in Rayong province, thailand, which is cased our study. the results indicate that setting ready-mix concrete plants at Mueang Rayong district and Klaeng district can sufficiently service the whole Rayong province.

the authors present an adaptive dynamic programming-based (ADP-based) scheme to solve the tracking control problems of flexible joint manipulator, which can be transformed to solve the Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman (HJB) equation. For the nominal error system, a critic neural network is established to approximate the value function and an online learning algorithm is proposed to update the weight of the critic neural network. the weight update of the critic neural network occurs at the same time as the system is running. the dynamics of the weight estimation error and the tracking error are proven to be uniformly ultimately bounded via Lyapunov method. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the performance of the present method.

this paper presents an approach that through simulation, implements a solution for two of the fundamental pillars of Industry 4.0: Internet of things and Vertical and Horizontal Integration of Cyber-Physical Systems, by always keeping in mind the concept of design and development of those systems. the objective of the approach is to present Cyber-Physical Systems designers a possible approach, with simple and easy to follow steps, even if they have superficial knowledge of programming. the approach is composed by two steps: In the first step the modelling of the physical part is performed, using a PLC simulator and the representation of a real system, and the second step consists on modelling the cyber part of the system, through web platforms, such as Node-RED and the use of some IBM Platform resources. the approach is validated through a case study in which data is collected in the system under study, and then processed, analyzed and visualized to give insights that help on decision making, whether in the context of market strategy and production and operation of the equipment.

the basis of decision-making at industry consists of formally representing the system and its subsystems in a model, which adequately captures those features that are necessary to reach consistent decisions. New trends in semantics and knowledge models aim to formalize the mathematical domain and mathematical models in order to provide bases for machine reasoning and artificial intelligence. Hence, tools for improving information sharing and communication have proved to be highly promising to support the integration of performance assessment within industrial decision-making. this work presents an intelligent agent based on knowledge models and establishes the basis for automating the design, management, programming and solution of mathematical models used in the industry. A case study concerning a capacity limitation constraint demonstrates the performance of the agent and indicates the directions for future work.

During the last decade, the number of devices connected to the Internet by Wi-Fi has grown significantly. A high density of boththe client devices and the hot spots posed new challenges related to providing the desired quality of service in the current and emerging scenarios. To cope withthe negative effects caused by network densification, modern Wi-Fi is becoming more and more centralized. To improve network efficiency, today many new Wi-Fi deployments are under control of management systems that optimize network parameters in a centralized manner. In the paper, for such a cloud management system, we develop an algorithm which aims at maximizing energy efficiency and also keeps fairness among clients. For that, we design an objective function and solve an optimization problem using the branch and bound approach. To evaluate the efficiency of the developed solution, we implement it in the NS-3 simulator and compare with existing solutions and legacy behavior.

Adaptive facade systems have the potential for saving energy and enhancing comfort conditions in buildings. Creating working models with materials, components and functions which embody the design idea of a responsive building envelope is an important part of the design process of these systems, because it allows the performance to be demonstrated and tested under realistic conditions and for difficulties to be detected in advance. this paper reports on the process of building and programming a functional model of a switchable ETFE cushion for preliminary performance tests. Different techniques of reverse engineering and prototyping were explored on a range of scales to build the membrane structure and its pneumatic control system. the study showcases the inter-link of advanced manufacturing techniques and parametric design software, the application of microcontrollers, actuators and sensors in combination withthe building envelope. the paper further documents and theorizes the process from design to making and testing, outlining a practical workflow for the development and prototyping of adaptive building envelopes for energy efficient buildings.
