S-boxes constitute a cornerstone component in symmetric-key cryptographic algorithms, such as DES and AES encryption systems. In block ciphers, they are typically used to obscure the relationship between the plaintext and the ciphertext. Non-linear and non-correlated S-boxes are the most secure against linear and differential cryptanalysis. In this paper, we focus on a two-fold objective: first, we evolve regular an S-box with high non-linearity and low auto-correlation properties using evolutionary computation;then automatically generate evolvable hardware for the obtained S-box. Targeting the former, we use the Nash equilibrium-based multi-objective evolutionary algorithm to optimise regularity, non-linearity and auto- correlation, which constitute the three main desired properties in resilient S-boxes. Pursuing the latter, we exploit genetic programming to automatically generate the evolvable hardware designs of substitution boxes that minimise hardware space, encryption/decryption time and dissipated power, which form the three main hardware characteristics. We compare our results against existing and well-known designs, which were produced by using conventional methods as well as through evolution. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2007.

In Recent developments towards programming models such as MapReduce have introduced many techniques to evolve and utilize the use of design patterns. MapReduce is a computing methodology for processing various data which resides on thousands of computers that are popularized by google, Hadoop and others. Design patterns have become ease for developers, since they are the tools for developers to solve complicated problems in a reusable and general way with less time. Using these techniques in the domain of distributed Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) is simple, faster, accurate, flexible and adaptive than the old systems. Due to this flexibility and power of design patterns in composition with, it is easy to realize and understand the effects of the loose coupling between the components interactions in the designed architecture. Hence, this paper aims in proposing a real time design pattern using MapReduce based strategy visit and factory based design patterns for Distributed Service Oriented Architecture (DSOA). In addition, along with the merge of component based programming model to introduce dynamic service injection of SOA and to develop adaptive scalable distributed systems. By this proposed model, the performance and interactions between the end users are most highly appreciable and sophisticated. As industry and academia embrace component and object based design models, programming languages, technologies, and tools, they are outpacing our ability to formally define models and frameworks supporting organization and domain specific reuse. For software engineers to accurately assess potential and actual reuse of software artifacts, we must transition from ad-hoc reuse to a evaluative paradigm that achieves reuse of an organization’s current and future products. Towards this goal, our previous work has provided a framework for reusability assessment of components and classes via metrics and refactoring guidelines. In this paper, we work towards the formalization of this reusability framework. Our objectives and contributions are: a set of properties for the assumptions of the reusability framework;the formalization of class coupling, class generality, and related class concepts which underlie reuse assessment and refactoring;a reusability improvement factor to capture refactoring gain (or loss);and a refactoring algorithm for improving reusability. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2002.

this paper presents a method to estimate voltage profiles on source distribution system using Independent component Analysis (ICA) algorithm. the profiles are estimated for 24- hours with time interval of 1 minute. the objective of this research is to reduce loss by controlling source of voltage per-unit. When voltage source is controlled, the losses occur on the system is reduced drastically. Power System Simulation for engineering (PSSE) Software and Python programming was used in the simulation of IEEE 69 test bus system, while ICA is programmed using MATLAB R2012b version. the losses of simulation results with different tap changer and voltage set are compared and discussed in this paper.

Robotics has been widely used in the field of non-destructive testing in recent years. However, for complex surfaces, manual teaching or offline programming is time-consuming and difficult to ensure high precision for non-destructive testing robot trajectory planning. therefore, this work proposes a new method to generate non-destructive testing trajectory of the robot based on the pre-processed point cloud data. the workpiece surface is measured by 3D sensor to obtain the point cloud data. the trajectory line on workpiece surface is obtained by slicing pre-processed point cloud data. the dense trajectory points are obtained by isometric discretizing trajectory lines, and then they are compressed by Douglas-Peucker algorithm. the Principal component Analysis (PCA) method is used to estimate the normal vector of the optimized trajectory points and unify their orientation. the pose of non-destructive testing robot can be obtained by biasing the trajectory points along their normal vectors finally. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

the heart is a crucial component of all living organisms. Greater thoroughness and precision are required for heart disease diagnosis and prognosis since even a little error may result in serious consequences or even death;there are many heart-related fatalities and the number is growing daily (Kumar et al. in Cardiac disease prediction using data mining algorithm. Springer Nature Singapore, Singapore, 2020). An illness awareness prediction system is a crucial component needed to address this issue. Machine learning is an illustration of AI (artificial intelligence). It is quite helpful for predicting all kinds of occurrences related to natural catastrophes. In this work, utilizing benchmark data sets from Kaggle for training and testing, we assess the efficiency of machine learning algorithms for heart disease prediction (Gupta and Vinayaka in Cardiac arrest disease prediction system using classification algorithms. Springer Nature Singapore, Singapore, 2020), including k-proximal neighbors, decision trees, linear regression, and Random Forest Classifier. the Anaconda (Jupyter) notebook, which includes a range of libraries and header files that make the process quick and easy, is the ideal tool for utilizing Python programming. © 2023, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

By 2030 greenhouse gas emissions should be reduced by at least 55%. Despite hardware becoming more energy-efficient (Koomey's law), the ever-increasing reliance on computer technology has increased the energy usage due to ICT significantly. In software engineering (SE), there are many choices from programming languages to development patterns that influence energy efficiency. Recent research inspired our work on incorporating energy efficiency into SE education. An international group of researchers formulated initial recommendations for introducing green and sustainable software engineering [4] to students. An EU-US team formulated more refined recommendations for introducing green thinking as modules in existing courses [3]. ICT4S'22 best paper addressed HES eco-anxiety when teaching sustainability [2]. In this work we report on the experience of introducing reflection on energy efficiency into the default requirements of a SE course, and how that influenced students to address energy efficiency in their projects. Out of 8 teams, 7 implemented at least a small energy-efficient component. However, as one group donated to a climate charity in bitcoins, we need more ways to raise awareness.

Learning with very limited training data is a challenging but typical scenario in machine learning applications. In order to achieve a robust learning model, on one hand, the instructive labeled instances should be fully leveraged;on the other hand, extra data source need to be further explored. this paper aims to develop an effective learning framework for robust modeling, by naturally combining two promising advanced techniques, i.e. generative adversarial networks and self-paced learning. To be specific, we present a novel augmented self-paced learning with generative adversarial networks (ASPL-GANs), which consists of three component modules, i.e. a generator G, a discriminator D, and a self-paced learner S. Via competition between G and D, realistic synthetic instances with specific class labels are generated. Receiving both real and synthetic instances as training data, classifier S simulates the learning process of humans in a self-paced fashion and gradually proceeds from easy to complex instances in training. the three components are maintained in a unified framework and optimized jointly via alternating iteration. Experimental results validate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in classification tasks.

Genetic programming is known to provide good solutions for many problems like the evolution of network protocols and distributed algorithms. then, it is most likely a hardwired module of a design framework where it assists the engineer in optimizing specific aspects in system development. In this paper we show how the utility of genetic programming can be increased remarkably by isolating it as a component and integrating it into the model-driven software development process. Our genetic programming framework produces XMI-encoded UML models that can easily be loaded into widely available modeling tools, which in turn offer code generation as well as additional analysis and test capabilities. We use the evolution of a distributed election algorithm as an example to illustrate how genetic programming can be combined with model-driven development.
