Chronic back pain can present a serious health concern, with symptoms that can significantly affect an individual's well-being, mobility, and overall quality of life over an extended period. While chronic back pain may manifest suddenly in some cases, it often develops gradually and persists for weeks, and in untreated cases, it can linger for years. Hence, the utilization of assistive devices such as wearable posture-monitoring vests can offer valuable assistance and guidance to users. this research paper is dedicated to the development of a system for detecting, diagnosing, and correcting poor posture, specifically leaning posture. the vest is designed to provide users with visual, auditory, and tactile cues to help them address this issue, thereby reducing the risk associated with leaning. Additionally, an integrated electrical box has been designed to consolidate all components directly onto the main board in a secure enclosure. this box also displays the daily count of instances where the user has leaned. this system is characterized by its electrical safety, portability, compactness, comfort, and affordability. A comprehensive analysis of the system's performance has been conducted with a meticulous evaluation of accuracy. Each component of the system has undergone successful testing, and the system as a whole is currently in the testing phase. the results of these tests have indicated a lack of faulty errors and have demonstrated outstanding accuracy and detection rates. Over 100 individuals of varying ages, genders, and BMI categories were involved in testing, with each person wearing the device for an average of six hours. the accuracy rate achieved was 98.85%, with an average of 54.35 instances of poor posture detected per participant. © 2023 IEEE.

With the extensive adoption of renewable energy, the uncertainty of photovoltaic (PV) output poses significant challenges to power grid scheduling and planning. To address the issue of PV output uncertainty, this paper proposes an improved Conditional generative Adversarial Network (CGAN)-based modeling method for PV uncertainty. the method in-corporates the characteristic data of PV output as conditional information for the CGAN and employs the Wasserstein distance as the discriminator's loss function. Subsequently, through adver-sarial training of the CGAN, the generator learns the mapping relationship between random noise and the real historical dataset, enabling the efficient generation of scenarios closely resem-bling the real distribution. Comparative analysis and validation through case studies demonstrate that the proposed method accurately captures the uncertainty of renewable energy output.

DR-BIP is an extension of the BIP component framework intended for programming reconfigurable systems encompassing various aspects of dynamism. It relies on architectural motifs to structure the architecture of a system and to coordinate its reconfiguration at runtime. An architectural motif defines a set of interacting components that evolve according to reconfiguration rules. With DR-BIP, the dynamism can be captured as the interplay of dynamic changes in three independent directions (1) the organization of interactions between instances of components in a given configuration;(2) the reconfiguration mechanisms allowing creation/deletion of components and management of their interaction according to a given architectural motif;(3) the migration of components between predefined architectural motifs which characterizes dynamic execution environments. the paper lays down the formal foundation of DR-BIP, illustrates its expressiveness on few examples and discusses avenues for dynamic reconfigurable system design. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2018.

Plug-in components are a means for making feature-rich applications customizable. Combined with plug-and-play composition, end users can assemble customized applications without programming. If plug-and-play composition is also dynamic, applications can be reconfigured on the fly to load only components the user needs for his current work. We have created ***, a plug-in framework that supports dynamic plug-and-play composition. the basis for plug-and-play in Plux is the composer which replaces programmatic composition by automatic composition. components just specify their requirements and provisions using metadata. the composer then assembles the components based on that metadata by matching requirements and provisions. When the composer needs to reuse general-purpose components in different parts of an application, the component model requires genericity. the composer depends on metadata that specify which components should be connected and for general-purpose components those metadata need to be different on each reuse. We present an approach for generic plug-ins with component templates and an implementation for Plux. the general-purpose components become templates and the templates get parameterized when they are composed.

this paper deals with embedded systems software and the modification of its architecture and behavior at execution-time. Incautious implementation of these features demands both heavy memory and performance overrun. To accomplish such software evolution activities in resource-constrained embedded systems, we propose a component-based run-time evolution infrastructure that reconciles richness of evolution alternatives and performance requirements. Our proposal is based on off-site components reifications, which are representations of components that allow us to treat evolution concerns remotely. Hence, the workload to be processed by the embedded device is alleviated. Memory and processor-time resources consumption evaluation on a real-world scenario show the efficiency and pertinence of our approach.

Image generation using deep learning generative models has witnessed significant strides in various domains, particularly in scene and object generation. However, the complexities escalate when applied to facial image generation, especially in healthcare scenarios where detailed and realistic depictions are crucial. this paper introduces a pioneering approach to generating lifelike faces with specific attributes, including age, hair color, and gender, leveraging the manipulable latent space of a generative Adversarial Network (GAN). the proposed system not only holds promise for applications such as criminal identification and film production but also showcases practical implications in the healthcare domain. By offering a user-friendly interface for attribute input and face display, the system facilitates healthcare professionals in generating diverse patient avatars for medical training simulations. the implementation utilizes Python, PyTorch, and the CelebA dataset, with the training process conducted on Google Colab for computational efficiency. this work represents a novel intersection of advanced deep learning, human-computer interaction, and real-world healthcare applications, providing a holistic exploration of attribute-driven face synthesis in the medical field.

the two-latent variable stochastic block model is a new graph synthetic model making a connection between the conventional stochastic block model and real-world networks. In this model, each node contains two latent variables such that at least one of these two latent variables is unknown. Still, this model lonely is not able to model a real-world network. Side information is another component that sometimes exists beside a real-world network. In this paper, we will investigate the asymptotic behavior of the two-latent variable stochastic block model in the presence of side information. Two different types of side information are considered in this paper: noisy labels and partially revealed labels side information. For each case, the necessary and sufficient conditions for the exact recovery of the desired latent variable are obtained via semidefinite programming optimization. It is shown that these conditions are tight and create a phase transition for the exact recovery.

Due to the additional design freedom and manufacturing possibilities of additive manufacturing compared to traditional manufacturing, topology optimization via mathematical optimization gained importance in the initial design of complex high-strength lattice structures. We consider robust topology optimization of truss-like space structures with multiple loading scenarios. A typical dimensioning method is to identify and examine a suspected worst-case scenario using experience and component-specific information and to incorporate a factor of safety to hedge against uncertainty. We present a quantified programming model that allows us to specify expected scenarios without having explicit knowledge about worst-case scenarios, as the resulting optimal structure must withstand all specified scenarios individually. this leads to less human misconduct, higher efficiency and, thus, to cost and time savings in the design process. We present three-dimensional space trusses with minimal volume that are stable for up to 100 loading scenarios. Additionally, the effect of demanding a symmetric structure and explicitly limiting the diameter of truss members in the model is discussed. © 2021, the Author(s).

Extensive research and development efforts have been dedicated to the investigation and advancement of the load commutation method-based automatic commutation device (CD) as a means to mitigate three-phase imbalance in low-voltage distribution networks (LVDNs). However, the present automatic commutation approach employs real-time balancing techniques. this entails that when the device detects an imbalance surpassing the threshold, it promptly executes commutation operations on certain power consumers where the user experiences a significant level of current, which poses challenges in the process of commutation. In this paper, a commutation-based load-pre-balanced system for low-voltage distribution line is created and put into practice. the system has the capability to perform the commutation operation prior to the user's utilization of electricity, hence eliminating the necessity for conducting high current commutation, which can mitigate the potential risks associated with automatic CD commutation. Firstly, a novel pre-balanced phase change strategy is introduced, accompanied by the construction of a pre-balanced system. Two commutation strategies, namely current-based and voltage-based, are designed for the pre-balanced system. Additionally, the effectiveness of the pre-balanced system in controlling the three-phase line load imbalance is verified by simulation on the MATLAB/Simulink platform. Finally, the hardware component of the system is realized through the use of the PIC18F27QI0 micro controller as the central controller. On the other hand, the system software component is developed by employing the programming languages C and Python, also a prototype is made for real environment testing. the experimental findings indicate that the designed pre-balanced system has the capability to efficiently regulate the imbalance in the three-phase line load.
