Recently, grid computing infrastructures have been developed, but most of them connect nodes with hard-wired links. Seldom adopt wireless technology and mobile devices. However, if we can integrate a grid system with wireless network devices, techniques and resources to form a wireless grid infrastructure to provide different kinds of terminal devices, grid applications will soon be popularly and widely deployed in different domains to serve many more people in the world. In this article, we propose a service platform, named Wireless grid-based mobile agent system (WGMAS) which integrates mobile agent techniques and wireless environment with a grid system, to provide a wireless accessible mobile agent system to users.

Cloud computing is a relatively mature business computing model, which is gradually developed from technologies such as distributed computing, parallel processing, and grid computing. Similarly, with the continuous emergence of cloud computing applications, people's understanding of cloud computing is also constantly changing. this paper designs a private cloud platform called 'UCloudStack' based on cloud computing technology. the platform can provide a complete set of cloud resource management capabilities such as unified management of core services such as virtualization, SDN network, and distributed storage, resource scheduling, monitoring logs, and operation and maintenance, helping the digital transformation of government and enterprises. © 2022 IEEE.

the long lifecycles of many scientific applications tend to surpass multiple generations of grid technologies opening an increasing gap developers need to bridge. Automatic adaptation and migration of software to newer environments remains therefore as interesting research question. Most existing state-of-the-art solutions are grid middleware services that execute programs based on provided descriptions forcing clients to use a generic and non-problem-centric interface. this short paper outlines the Otho Toolkit for synthesis of grid application wrapper services based on specifications of scientific legacy programs. the generated output are service source codes that are either automatically built and packaged into a ready-to-deploy services or taken by developers for manual refinement. the services are customised and tailor-made for a specific application, service hosting environment and computational infrastructure. To increase their benefit they can be enhanced with supplemental functionality such as security credential management or filestaging. We applied the Otho Toolkit recursively to itself to synthesise a sophisticated Factory service that creates application-specific grid services on-demand.

In recent years, Global and grid computing emerge as two powerful technology trends. In this paper, we compare these two approaches of distributed computing. First, we present a definition for Global computing that accentuates the key point in this trend. this key point distinguishes Global computing from other trends and covers many such systems. Second, we contrast two approaches in general characteristics. then, by comparing them in technical issues, we show that the key point in our definition of Global computing is the main source of many technical differences between these methods. Finally, we present our opinion about the probable future of Global and grid computing.

Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm is an optimisation algorithm based on the intelligent behaviour of honey bee swarm. In this work, ABC algorithm is used to optimise the equilibrium of confined plasma in a nuclear fusion device. Plasma physics research for fusion still presents open problems that need a large computing capacity to be solved. this optimisation process is a long time consuming process so an environment like grid computing has to be used, thus the first step is to adapt and extend the ABC algorithm to use the grid capabilities. In this work we present a modification of the original ABC algorithm, its adaption to a grid computing environment and the application of this algorithm to the equilibrium optimisation process.

We describe a tool that implements a set of services to manipulate and store data from a radar network in a transparent way to end users. A major requirement of this system is data availability and reliability. Consequently, we have implemented a redundancy schema based on the Information Dispersal Algorithm (IDA). Preliminary results show that the IDA based replication provides better reliability and less storage spending than traditional replication.

"Intelligent Decision Analysis Platform" is an advanced application of decision and analysis based on the construction of "State grid 186" in China. the platform is committed to achieve the goal of all kinds of business managements and developments. With the auxiliary support of the platform, power enterprises are capable of making better strategies and increasing revenue eventually. According to the characteristics of smart grid monitoring and the requirements of management efficiently as well as the demand of reliable storage of massive grid data, this paper puts forward the decision and analysis platform based on the parallel processing framework which is called Spark and the fault-tolerant abstraction for in-memory cluster computing embedded in Spark as it is known as Resilient distributed Datasets (RDDs). this paper gives detailed analysis of the feasibility and the advantages of the new method, as well as some unsolved problems.

High performance applications such as gene sequence alignment searching, data mining, graphics rendering and Monte Carlo simulations in finance and science are putting ever-increasing load on computing infrastructure. Traditionally, such pleasingly parallel workloads are parallelized using standard batch scheduling or, on a larger scale, web-service-based grid middleware, which is traditionally based on SOAP web services. It is argued that Restful web services provide a natural framework for such asynchronous distributed computing and allow an architecture more suited for on-demand computing. Concretely, the services of the grid Factory distributed computing system are described. these services are implemented as Apache modules, leveraging Apache APIs for access control and database access. Moreover, the standard Apache modules mod-dav and mod-ssl are used for file serving, authentication and and encryption. the characteristics of the system are described and the performance of this direct use of Apache as hosting platform is evaluated. the system has been subjected to initial testing, demonstrating the feasibility of the approach. © 2012 IEEE.
