grid computing is a new paradigm for distributed computing, and service has become building block of grid applications. However, current approaches can not free developers from low-level laborious work when building grid applications. We propose a service-oriented virtual machine called Abacus Virtual Machine to simplify the task of grid application development. As a language level virtual machine, it provides a service-oriented instruction set to abstract the operations on the services of a grid application. It also virtualizes services and creates a virtual global system image for grid applications, thus services can be transparently distributed and shared In this way, Abacus Virtual Machine hides the cumbersome underlying details from programmers and reduces the complexity greatly in grid application development.

In this paper, an architecture framework of grid resource management supports reservation mechanism is proposed, which provides end-to-end quality of service (QoS) for users and adjusts the level of QoS. And we describe the request definition and processing of resource reservation, and design the strategies of reservation. Reservation strategies integrate resource request control, which improves the resource performance and guarantee use's QoS. © 2006 IEEE.

Gild Technology is the great progress of network after Internet, since gild enables the integrated and collaborative use of distributed computing resources owned and managed by multiple organizations, available over a local or wide area network. In this paper, we provided a Data grid platform with integrated storage to solve such data gridproblems by using PVFS2 to increase the data storage space. the experimental results presented show the effectiveness of such proposed combination of technologies.

Benefitting from the combination of the idea of pipeline with model parallelism and data parallelism, pipeline parallelism improves the efficiency of distributed deep learning systems significantly. However, suffering from the bubbles and gaps caused by the imbalance of different stages in pipeline, it can not output ideal performance yet. To explore the potential of pipeline parallelism further, we propose a novel approach called PipePrune, which adds a convolutional layer pruning strategy to pipeline creatively to reduce the bubbles and gaps. For the convolutional layers with heavy overheads, some unimportant kernels are pruned by the measurement of the L1-norm. this approach makes the processing overheads of different pipeline stages more balanced. the experimental results show that, compared with state-of-the-art pipeline methods, PipePrune can improve the training speeds obviously (e.g. for ResNet50 on ImageNet, about 30% speed improvement is realized with only 1.1% loss of training accuracies). © 2021 IEEE.

A common programming model in distributed and grid computing is the client/server paradigm, where the client submits requests to several geographically remote servers for executing already deployed applications on its own data. In this context it is mandatory to avoid unnecessary data transfer because the data set can be very large. this work addresses the problem of implementing a strategy for data management in case of data dependencies among subproblems in the same application. To this purpose, some minor changes have been introduced to the distributed Storage Infrastructure in NetSolve distributed computing environment.

In this paper we describe the implementation of a service oriented environment that enables to couple a parallel application, which performs the 3D linear dynamic structural analysis of high-rise buildings, to a grid computing infrastructure. the grid service, developed under Globus Toolkit 4, exposes the dynamic simulation as a service to the structural scientific community. It employs the GMarte middleware, a metascheduler that enables to perform the computationally intensive simulations on the distributed resources of a grid-based infrastructure.

Fault tolerant message passing environments protect parallel applications against node failures. Very large scale computing systems, ranging from large clusters to worldwide Global computing systems, require a high level of fault tolerance in order to efficiently run parallel applications. the Channel Memory approach provides the infrastructure for scalable tolerance to simultaneous faults. Along with a specially designed checkpointing system and recovery protocol, this approach has resulted in the MPICH-V architecture. In this paper, we describe CMDE - a stand-alone distributed program system based on MPICH-V architecture and implementing an approach to tolerate faults of Channel Memories. (c) 2004 Elsevier B.V. As to the Raman scattering based distributed optical fiber temperature sensing system, the temperature demodulation algorithm has great influence on the temperature measurement accuracy. So, the data for the temperature demodulation need noise suppression and position correction. In addition, the walk-off effect of Raman Stokes and Raman anti-Stokes light and the fiber reference temperature calibration restrict the long-distance distributed temperature measurement, and corresponding signal processing algorithm should be adopted to solve the above problems. Based on the typical temperature demodulation theory that relies on the Raman Stokes and anti-Stokes data, an optical fiber attenuation compensation scheme for the fiber reference temperature calibration and a signal walk-off effect correction algorithm are proposed and experimentally demonstrated, and the measurement dynamic range obtained is larger than 20dB, and along an optical fiber with length of about 8km, it achieves measurement accuracy of 0.5 °C and 1m spatial resolution. © 2022 IEEE.

this project intends to use the recently developed OpenMP parallel computing method to integrate the minimum-maximum reclassification method with the factor table path tree method. then the different types of images are segmented. this method can decouple LU algorithm from other transient stability algorithms to realize parallel processing of multiple independent cores. Each core has high bandwidth and low latency reliable communication cut connections very close, capable of fine "multiple small" parallelism. According to the characteristics of hierarchical division of power grid, the communication time required in the implementation of this method is established, and the corresponding communication algorithm is given. this method can reduce the communication times required to solve the quadrative variables, improve the convergence of numerical simulation, and greatly improve the distributed parallel computing efficiency of transient stability. the experimental results show that the communication method proposed in this paper is feasible. ©2024 IEEE.

computing grid are a set of unsymmetrical systems have provided a ground for sharing the computing resources. Regarding the facilities of grid and advantages of mobile agents and also the present problems reduction on distributed systems, the grid ground of "Alchemi" has been applied that is a low capacity system fixed with windows operating system. In this paper, changes have been made in Alchemi which has an open origin and the possibility Of inter thread communication and strong mobility added to it and then by using mobile agents in this system, the possibility of agent -based programming provided in it. Two main innovations of this paper are including: -Generating a strong excitation in NET environment. -Developing the possibility of parallel programming based on the agents over the grid.
