Steep development of computer systems has created a great variety of important technical and scientific problems: for development of an architecture of algorithms, control circuits for access to common resources, and computing structures and distributed database structures. In this paper, the principles of parallelism for the construction of multilevel distributed computer networks are given.

"Hackers" have written malicious programs to exploit online services intended for human users. As a result, service providers need a method to tell whether a web site is being accessed by a human or a machine. We expect a parallel scenario as spoken language interfaces become common. In this paper, we describe a Reverse Turing Test (i.e., an algorithm that can distinguish between humans and computers) using speech. We present a test that depends on the fact that human recognition of distorted speech is far more robust than automatic speech recognition techniques. Our analysis of 18 different sets of distortions demonstrates that there are a variety of ways to make the problem hard for machines. In addition, humans and speech recognition systems make different kinds of mistakes, and this difference can be employed to improve discrimination.

parallel Machine Translation (PMT) is a new machine translation paradigm that takes advantage of high-speed and large-memory computers and existing machine translation systems with different characteristics to solve the difficult machine translation problem. PMT is based on technologies of parallelcomputing, machine translation, and artificial intelligence. A PMT system consists of many machine translation procedures running in parallel, coordinated by a controller to dissolve various ambiguities in machine translation. We have designed and implemented a PMT system based on the above approach at a coarse parallel level. the system consists of four independent machine translation subsystems. Each subsystem is implemented using an existing machine translation technique and has its own characteristics. In this paper we present the principles and practice of PMT. We also present some results of experiments with our experimental PMT system and point out some future research on PMT.
parallelization of scientific applications remains a nontrivial task typically requiring some programmer assistance. Key considerations for candidate parallel programming paradigms are portability, efficiency, and int...

Recent performance enhancements, upgrade applications, and rapid advances in computers and networking technologies have all enabled information processing devices to share computer resources. We are interested in image processing that requires a large amount of calculations. If individual pixels forming an image can be calculated independently, the processing speed can be increased by parallel processing, thus reducing the overall processing time. However, it has been previously confirmed that increasing the number of servers beyond a certain point does not raise the parallel processing efficiency in a parallel distributed processing environment using a client-server model. therefore, we constructed a new processing environment using an agent model in order to investigate parallel image processing. this paper discusses the results of experiments in this environment in comparison withthose of parallel processing in a client-server model.

the Multiversion HyperData (MHD) approach to versioning in object-oriented databases for CAD/CIM is described. In this model, types of versions are introduced: revisions are wed to model evolution in time, variants - to model parallel ways of development, and representations to model different forms of an object. Version types are related to the configurations rather than to single objects, thus permitting to automatically keep consistency of the sets of objects. Some operations specific for version types are proposed including group operations for variants, and auto-derivation of one representation from another. Some implementation models are presented which differ in functionality, efficiency and potential application area.
