Software engineering is fundamentally driven by economics. One of the issues that software teams face is employee turnover which has a serious economic impact. the effect of job dissatisfaction on high turnover is consistently supported by evidence from multiple disciplines. the study investigates if and how job satisfaction relates to development processes that are being used and the determinants of job satisfaction across a wide range of teams, regions and employees. A moderate positive correlation between the level of experience with agile methods and the overall job satisfaction was found. the evidence suggests that there are twice as many members of agile teams who are satisfied with their jobs (vs members of non-agile teams). the ability to influence decisions that affect you, the opportunity to work on interesting projects, and the relationships with users were found to be statisticcally significant satisfiers.

the traditional versus agile project debate is most often represented in terms of polar positions of the life cycle - the process is either traditional or agile, waterfall or highly iterative. this may be effective in intellectual discussions, but it is highly unlikely to be useful to practitioners, especially those practitioners that are facing traditional project pressures and trying to find the "home ground" for their situation that will increase the likelihood that they will succeed. In this paper, we discuss extensions to Boehm and Turner's five dimensions for determining a project's "home ground" - that is, the process configuration that might best fit the situation at hand. We have added dimensions to the basic framework provided by Boehm and Turner and have considered the process configuration question as a process itself and increased its scope to include both management and engineering key practice areas.

PEEP is a server-side scripting programming language that is widely used to develop website services. However, web-based PHP applications are distributed in source code so that the security is vulnerable and weak because the lines of source code can be easily copied, modified, or used in other applications. these research aims to implement obfuscation techniques design in PHP extension code using AES algorithm. the AES algorithm recommended by NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) to protect the US government's national information security system. through obfuscation technique using encryption, it is expected that programmers have an option to protect the PHP source code so that the copyright or intellectual property of the program can be protected. © 2017 Association for Computing Machinery.

Ultra-dense mobile edge computing (MEC) is expected as an effective approach to provide services with ultra-low latency and massive connectivity, which is extremely important for delay-sensitive applications. In this paper, we study service instance (SI) placement for delay-sensitive applications in ultra-dense MEC, which decides where to place applications and the required data (programming codes and datasets). In general, the SI placement problem is a combinatorial optimization and usually does not have low-complexity optimal solutions. Existing centralized policies are difficult to implement due to the high complexity, especially when edge servers are densely deployed in the ultra-dense network (UDN). To design an approach that can make SI placement decisions quickly and efficiently, this paper investigates a distributed strategy for multi-user multi-server edge systems in UDN. We first formulate the SI placement problem as a non-linear combinatorial optimization, which is proven to be NP-hard to compute a centralized optimal solution. then, we propose an uncooperative game to design a low-complexity distributed algorithm. We further analyze the properties of the game and prove the existence of pure strategy Nash Equilibrium. A polynomial-complexity distributed algorithm is proposed to get the Nash Equilibrium. theoretical analysis shows the algorithm's convergence and the bound of the price of anarchy (PoA), which serves as a performance guarantee in the worst-case scenarios compared to the global optimum. Numerical results validate the convergence and near-optimal performance of the proposed distributed algorithm. © 2021 IEEE.

the Traveling Tournament Problem is a sports timetabling problem that abstracts two issues in creating timetables: home/away pattern feasibility and team travel. Instances of this problem seem to be very difficult even for a very small number of teams, making it an interesting challenge for combinatorial optimization techniques such as integer programming and constraint programming. We introduce the problem, describe one way of modeling it, and give some interesting classes of instances with base computational results. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2001.

the paper addresses the optimal design of the last branch of the supply chain, i.e., the Distribution Network (DN). We extend a deterministic optimization model previously proposed by the authors, using fuzzy numbers and fuzzy logic to take into account uncertainty in the DN model and in the DN design. Hence, a procedure employing digraph modeling and fuzzy mixed integer linear programming is presented to select the optimal DN configuration. To show the method effectiveness, the optimization model is applied to a case study. © 2011 IEEE.

there are new diseases discovered in the 21st century which have identical and additional symptoms to the previous diseases but these new diseases are far more dangerous than the previous ones and have some additional symptoms. S o, In this work the new diseases can be identified by taking the input from the user and identifying the disease and displaying it on the users smart screen display. this work aim is to reduce the deaths of people by identifying the disease and cure it in advance. the Random Forest and Naive Bayes algorithms are used for predicting the disease. this prediction is done by considering and comparing the accuracies of both the algorithms and gives the predicted disease as output which has best accuracy. Its implementation is completed via python programming language and tkinter library. © 2023 IEEE.

We consider the constrained newsvendor pricing problem where the suppliers provide all unit quantity discounts. the problem is to determine the optimal acquisition quantities and selling prices so as to maximize the retailer's expected profit, subject to a budget constraint. We present a mixed integer nonlinear programming (MINLP) model to formulate the problem, and develop a Lagrangian based solution approach. A numerical example is presented to verify the approach. ©2010 IEEE.
