the Product-of-Exponential (POE) model simplifies kinematic modeling by establishing direct relationships between kinematic and end-effector errors using base coordinate and tool coordinates. However, It contains numerous parameters and high latitude, which may lead to reduced efficiency and precision in the case of limited test data. this paper introduces the Simplified Effective Kinematic Calibration (SEC) technique, combining the Simplified Product-of-Exponential (SPOE) model, Pre-processing Sequential Quadratic programming (PSQP), and Gaussian Process Regression (GPR) to enhance calibration accuracy and efficiency. the SEC technique reduces parameter identification dimension, identifies coordinate transformation, compensates for geometric errors, and uses GPR for non-geometric error compensation. Experiments show that SEC demonstrates better positioning accuracy and efficiency than traditional methods. © 2024 IEEE.

Eco-driving as a control method to improve vehicle energy-saving performance has attracted considerable attention. In order to avoid the disadvantages of a single control method, this paper integrates the model predictive control (MPC) algorithm and dynamic programming (DP) strategy and proposes a fast and efficient energy-optimal adaptive cruise control (EACC), which satisfies the following performance of vehicles at multi-signal intersections. In this study, the vehicle system dynamics model and the vehicle controller are first built. then, MATLAB/Simulink was used for simulation verification. the results of vehicle energy performance and following performance are obtained through simulation experiments under two different working conditions of the road and the front vehicle, and the simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2023 IEEE.

this paper considers the outbound operation of the steel plate yard oriented to the cutting lines in shipbuilding. According to the daily cutting plan, the yard should arrange the outbound order of cutting plates and the relocation strategy for the blocking plates. the objective of this problem is to minimize the makespan of the outbound and cutting operations. A hybrid algorithm composed of two parts is introduced to solve this problem. In the first part, two heuristics are proposed to decide the outbound order. And the second part is a mixed integer programming model determining the relocation strategy. the experiment based on the actual cutting data is conducted to show the performance of the proposed method. © 2023 IEEE.

Water scarcity is a pressing issue that is exacerbated by population growth, urbanization, and climate change. To address this, sustainable and effective water management must be practiced. In this study, linear programming was used to determine the optimal allocation of the forecasted 2023 water supply in the Philippines. the objective function and constraints were set using data from the Philippine Statistics Authority. Results indicate that the minimum expenses on water for the year 2023 amounted to PHP 129,440,000,000. the energy sector had the highest share in total water use under the optimal solution. On the other hand, households had the lowest share among the six sectors. the researchers suggest that future studies incorporate more constraints related to the costs or profit from water usage per sector to improve the linear programming model. Moreover, future researchers may explore alternative methods outside of MATLAB, such as those that use simplex tableaus. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

In order to reduce the turnaround time of vessels and improve the efficiency of loading and unloading operations at an automated container terminal, this paper proposes a loading and unloading process involving YC-AGV-mate-AGV-QC. the study establishes a mixed-integer programming model with the coordinated scheduling of AGVs, QCs, and YCs, based on the consideration about the constraint on AGV-mate quantity. the model is solved with a hybrid genetic particle swarm optimization algorithm. Experimental results demonstrate that the hybrid genetic particle swarm optimization algorithm outperforms the particle swarm algorithm. Furthermore, at a certain quantity of AGV-mates, the completion time decreases with an increase in the number of AGVs. When the quantity of AGV is optimal, the completion time increases with further increases in AGV quantity. © 2024 IEEE.

programming languages are constantly evolving to simplify real-world problems and provide unique features. However, this often leads to the need for developers to learn and use different languages for different tasks, resulting in a steep learning curve. this paper introduces EzLang, a new programming language specifically developed to make data visualization easy and accessible. EzLang offers several features to facilitate data visualization tasks. It supports dynamic typing, allowing flexible handling of data, and includes common programming constructs such as loops, conditionals, and functions. Moreover, EzLang provides a rich library of in-built functions tailored for various data visualization purposes, simplifying the development process. To evaluate EzLang's performance, it was compared against existing interpreted languages. the results showcased favorable outcomes for EzLang in terms of execution speed and memory usage. In fact, when tested with small and medium-sized programs, EzLang's performance was comparable to other languages. the research highlights insights into the design and implementation of an interpreted language are presented, along with areas identified for future improvements. Overall, EzLang emerges as a promising programming language designed to streamline data visualization tasks, offering simplicity, efficiency, and a range of built-in functions. Its performance evaluation and exploration of design elements provide a foundation for further enhancements and advancements in the field of data visualization languages. © 2023 IEEE.

the cooling chain system of a nuclear power plant is a highly intricate system, aiming to efficiently dissipate residual heat from the nuclear power plant. Discrepancies between the capacity of the cooling chain system and the actual cooling demands can significantly impact energy efficiency. this issue is particularly pronounced during winter. In this study, we present a novel dynamic model for a two-port heat exchanger that describes the heat transfer processes within the system. Besides, we develop a nonlinear programming model and employ an interior point method to solve the optimal operation problem of the cooling chain system, aiming to reduce operational costs while ensuring the temperature within nominal range. the effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated by simulation results. © 2023 IEEE.

As computer technology and numerical algorithms rapidly develop, the role of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) in the fields of mechanical and aerospace engineering has become increasingly prominent. However, the outdated hardware level has hindered the application of CFD in both theory and engineering. In this article, we developed a CFD solver based on unstructured grids for compressible hypersonic flow. this solver achieved parallel computing based on GPUs using the CUDA programming model. We optimized the code to cater to the characteristics of CPU/GPU heterogeneous systems. the solver used a second-order finite volume method and an adaptive hybrid Riemann solver to accurately and robustly solve hypersonic flow problems. For grid sizes Up to tens of millions, the solver can achieve two orders of magnitude speedup. © 2023 IEEE.

Aiming at the high security and high energy consumption risks of downlink multiple input single output (MISO) systems assisted by intelligent reflecting surface (IRS), the transmission beamforming of the base station(BS), and the phase shift matrix of IRS are jointly considered for the transmission of the system. A system transmission power minimization problem under the constraint of a legal user secrecy rate was constructed. then a second-order cone programming algorithm based on successive convex approximation(SCA) is proposed to solve the problem. the proposed algorithm simultaneously updates all optimization variables in each iteration and obtains a suboptimal solution to the original problem. the simulation results show that compared with the proposed baseline scheme, the algorithm in this paper achieves lower transmit power while ensuring the confidentiality quality of legitimate users. © 2023 IEEE.
