Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) maps of characteristics of users, objects and the environment to authorisations. ABAC is a highly versatile access control model well suited to domains such as web services. With the recent set of draft ABAC guidelines by NIST there is a clear desire to promote further adoption of the model. Despite this ABAC continues to face challenges relating to policy evaluation. In this paper we present a novel framework for ABAC policy evaluation based on negotiations and formalised in Answer Set programming. Besides the promise of rapid and efficient software development, agile methods are well-appreciated for boosting communication and motivation of development teams. However, they are not practical "as such" in large organizations, especially because of the well-established, rigid processes in the organizations. In this paper, we present a case study where a few agile practices were injected into the software process of a large organization in order to pilot pair programming and improve the motivation and competence build-up. the selected agile practices were pair programming, the planning game and collective code ownership. We show how we adjust these practices in order to integrate them into the existing software process of the company in the context of a real software project.

this study aimed to present an application of Material Flow Cost Accounting (MFCA) to discover loss in the process and dynamic programming in decision making of improvement solutions. the research focused on internal supply chain operations of the case study. Based on MFCA analysis, the overall cost can be classified as the cost of positive product as 46.97% and the cost of negative product as 53.03%. the highest cost of negative product was material cost (MC) 45.52% following by system cost (SC) 6.41%, and energy cost (EC) 1.10% of the total product cost. the improvement solutions were proposed for MC reduction. Industrial engineering problem solving tools;cause and effect diagram, pareto diagram and why-why analysis, were used to investigate root causes for negative MC. Seven improvement solutions were proposed and evaluated based on MFCA calculation. the decision making was carried out using dynamic programming when the incursion was formulated using the cost of positive product increased by each solution. Finally, only the 1st, 2nd, 6th and 7th solution were selected and the cost of positive product can be increased from 46.97% to 56.08% and the cost of negative product reduced from 53.03% to 43.92% © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2015.

In an emergency healthcare situation, the time delay between injury and treatment is crucial for patient survival. Real-time processing of ambulance data can significantly reduce diagnosis and pre-treatment delays, resulting in faster recovery. Moreover, to achieve timely treatment, reliable and efficient paths should be followed by ambulances to reach hospitals faster. To tackle these phenomena, we utilize Stochastic On-Time Arrival (SOTA) based reliable path prediction. However, accessing real-time patient data from ambulances moving along Road Side Units (RSUs) on a reliable path poses several research challenges. thus, this paper introduces an RSU allocation scheme founded on Dynamic programming (DP), which takes into account latency, migration, and energy consumption as the goal of minimizing average total cost. Evaluation and prototype results confirm our hypothesis, showing marked improvement as compared to other state-of-the-art techniques on real-world datasets. © 2023 IEEE.

A microgrid consists of a variety of inverter-interfaced distributed energy resources (DERs). A key issue is how to control DERs within the microgrid and how to connect them to or disconnect them from the microgrid quickly. this paper presents a strategy for controlling inverter-interfaced DERs within a microgrid using an artificial neural network, which implements a dynamic programming algorithm and is trained with a new Levenberg-Marquardt backpropagation algorithm. Compared to conventional control methods, our neural network controller exhibits fast response time, low overshoot, and, in general, the best performance. In particular, the neural network controller can quickly connect or disconnect inverter-interfaced DERs without the need for a synchronization controller, efficiently track fast-changing reference commands, tolerate system disturbances, and satisfy control requirements at grid-connected mode, islanding mode, and their transition. We study the facial structure of a polyhedron associated with the single node relaxation of network flow problems with additive variable upper bounds. this type of structure arises, for example, in network design/expansion problems and in production planning problems with setup times. We first derive two classes of valid inequalities for this polyhedron and give the conditions under which they are facet-defining. then we generalize our results through sequence independent lifting of valid inequalities for lower-dimensional projections. Our computational experience with large network expansion problems indicates that these inequalities are very effective in improving the quality of the linear programming relaxations. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 1999.

this paper addresses the two-echelon location routing problem with simultaneous pickup and delivery (2E-LRPSPD). the 2E-LRPSPD deals with optimally locating primary and secondary facilities, and integrating goods distribution from depots and collection from customers and secondary depots. To the best of our knowledge there is no previous study on this problem. We propose two mixed integer programming formulations for the 2E-LRPSPD. While the first formulation is a two-index node-based formulation, the second one is a two-index flow-based formulation. Moreover, a family of valid inequalities are adapted from the literature to strengthen the formulations. In order to evaluate the performances of the formulations and valid inequalities, we conduct an experimental study on the instances derived from the literature. the computational results show that the flow-based formulation produces better lower bounds than the node-based formulation on small and medium-size problems. © Springer international Publishing Switzerland 2016.

the study attempts to identify the joy and satisfaction of children through their interaction with educational robotics, as well as the ease of use and learning of robotics. It focuses on the challenge of new experiences, the sense of achieving new goals, enhancing outcomes, innovation, the joy of creation, and teamwork. An educational robotics program is implemented and offered to 120 children aged between 9 and 15, who constitute the sample of the research. Following usability evaluation techniques, descriptive statistics were used to analyze the results. the main finding of the research is that the majority of participants were satisfied with their involvement in the program, felt comfortable, and found the programming and construction processes to be straightforward. Additionally, they had no issues working in teams to complete the tasks and would wholeheartedly recommend it to others. the analysis of additional statistical results in relation to previous research findings and the general theory serves as its conclusion. © 2023 Owner/Author.
