In this paper we present an example of a software infrastructure to support domain engineering activities. An important piece of the infrastructure is the ability to connect the outputs of the domain analysis to the inputs of the domain implementation. the combination of XML and Java provides a very interesting alternative to classical parser generation tools. XML can be used as a specification language to describe programs. In this paper we will describe how to connect the output of a domain analysis tool to a program generator. We will also describe how to use Java and XML tools to write program generators in Oracle9i. We will show how we can specify a search engine application in XML and how the generator can produce code for three different languages: Java Server Pages, PL/SQL, and PL/SQL Server Pages.

this paper presents a two-stage electronic ballast for metal-halide (MH) lamps. the first stage is a single-switch flyback and buck-boost integrated converter. the post stage is a half-bridge inverter driving the MH lamps with low-frequency square-wave current for avoiding acoustic resonance. the operating principle of the proposed topology is discussed. Also, constant power control is realized using the methodology employed for peak inductor current control. Finally, a laboratory prototype of a 70W electronic ballast for MH lamp operated with 200264V input voltage is implemented to verify the feasibility. the measured results illustrate that the harmonic distortion of AC input current satisfies the requirements of the IEC 61000-3-2 Class C standard. © 2012 IEEE.

To improve the frequency response of the distribution system after extreme natural disasters, a distribution system recovery method based on virtual synchronous generator (VSG) technology is proposed to solve the problem of frequency stability caused by large-scale distributed new energy generators access in the distribution system after extreme disasters. Firstly, a mathematical model is established to control the interface inverter of distributed new energy generators using VSG. Secondly, based on the rotor motion equation and the mechanical power response model of the generator, the expressions of the initial frequency change rate and the lowest frequency of the system are derived, which are used as the frequency constraints in the post-disaster recovery process of the distribution system, and the linearization method of nonlinear constraints is given. then, in order to maximize the load-weighted recovery, taking into account operational constraints, frequency constraints, and topology constraints, and the post disaster load recovery problem of the multi-time distribution system is modeled as a mixed integer linear programming (MILP) model, and solved using a commercial solver. Finally, the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed recovery method are verified by the improved IEEE 13 node and IEEE 37 node distribution system standard examples. © 2023 IEEE.

We propose a call flow for vertical handover procedure and a soft QoS scheme using dynamic programming (DP) approach for an efficient radio resource management in an environment where several different radio access networks (e.g., WLAN and WCDMA) coexists. We compare the soft QoS scheme with hard QoS scheme and propose a greedy and a DP approach for resource allocation scheme under a vertical handover situation. the proposed scheme is a promising approach for QoS support under the heterogeneous radio access networks. this work is supported by Korea Telecom. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2003.

this paper studies an integrated scheduling problem which consists of production and distribution stages. Jobs are processed on a parallel-batch machine in the production stage, and then transported to customers in the distribution stage. the aim is to find an integrated schedule in the two stages with the objective to optimize both total delivery time and total transportation cost. We focus on two models with either unbounded or bounded batch processing capacity in the production stage. In both models we assume sufficient vehicles each with infinite transportation capacity. For the unbounded model, we derive an O(g(n/g)2g) time dynamic programming algorithm where g ≥ 1 and n are the number of customers and jobs respectively. For the bounded model, we focus on a special case with m different processing times of jobs, and present an O(n323m) time algorithm. © Springer international Publishing Switzerland 2013.

In this paper, we propose a novel approach to automatic generation of aspect-oriented summaries from multiple documents. We first develop an event-aspect LDA model to cluster sentences into aspects. We then use extended LexRank algorithm to rank the sentences in each cluster. We use Integer Linear programming for sentence selection. Key features of our method include automatic grouping of semantically related sentences and sentence ranking based on extension of random walk model. Also, we implement a new sentence compression algorithm which use dependency tree instead of parser tree. We compare our method with three baseline methods. Quantitative evaluation based on Rouge metric demonstrate the effectiveness and advantages of our method. © 2011 IEEE.

To obtain clear images from images with different haze levels, a new haze-removing method is proposed based on local edge total variance, which effectively reconstructs a reflected image from the hazy image. We first rewrite the classical monochrome atmospheric scattering model (CMASM) using a logarithmic operation to obtain the approximate Retinex model. then we compute the approximate atmospheric transmittance map by decomposing the approximate Retinex model using the constrained local edge total variance theory. the decomposition problem can be viewed as an optimization problem with constrained quadratic programming, and the optimization of the channel containing fine details can be achieved by combining the Bregman theory and the fast Fourier transform method. Finally, the reflected image is estimated by the improved monochrome atmospheric scattering model. Compared to other available methods including methods based on CMASM and methods based on deep learning, experimental results demonstrate that our method is not only effective in removing haze, but also improve image qualities,such as contrast, sharpness and colour. © the Institution of engineering & Technology 2023.
