Digital transformation and maturity models are being used by organizations, consulting providers, and academia. the objectives that maturity models pursue are optimizing and using technological functionalities and measuring the degree of maturity in defining an implementation path. these models allow the identification of dimensions that an organization needs to follow toward greater digital maturity. this paper presents the most relevant features that consider several maturity models developed from different sources and have been applied in the last ten years. Also, it is focused on reporting studies indexed in Scopus that consider case studies related to research performed around the world. therefore, this study’s primary goal is to provide a tool to guide information technology personnel during digital transformation processes. Moreover, surveys have been applied in several local companies to evaluate their involvement and assess the models’ dimensions during a transformation process. Finally, the interpretation of a real implementation process has been carried out where several dimensions of the model are evaluated to verify its validity and subsequent analysis. © 2022, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Data poisoning attacks, where adversaries manipulate training data to degrade model performance, are an emerging threat as machine learning becomes widely deployed in sensitive applications. this paper provides a comprehensive overview of data poisoning including attack techniques, adversary incentives, impacts on security and reliability, detection methods, defenses, and key research gaps. We examine label flipping, instance injection, backdoors, and other attack categories that enable malicious outcomes ranging from IP theft to accidents in autonomous systems. Promising detection approaches include statistical tests, robust learning, and forensics. However, significant challenges remain in translating academic defenses like adversarial training and sanitization into practical tools ready for operational use. With safety and trustworthiness at stake, more research on benchmarking evaluations, adaptive attacks, fundamental tradeoffs, and real-world deployment of defenses is urgently needed. Understanding vulnerabilities and developing resilient machine learning pipelines will only grow in importance as data integrity is fundamental to developing safe artificial intelligence.

To solve the Green Multi-Compartment Vehicle Routing Problem with Simultaneous Pickup and Delivery (GMCVRPSPD), a mathematical model is established with the objective of minimizing total costs. the model consists of vehicle operating costs and fuel consumption costs. A Learning Ant Colony Optimization algorithm (LACO) is proposed to solve GMCVRPSPD. Firstly, in the global search stage of LACO, three different heuristic methods are used to generate the initial solution. these solutions are used to initialize the pheromone matrix, providing a better starting point for the algorithm's subsequent search process. A pheromone update mechanism is designed to effectively enhance the convergence speed of the algorithm. Secondly, in the local search of LACO: a local learning strategy is designed, which selects the neighborhood operation suitable for the current search stage from the six neighborhood operations designed, and dynamically updates the selection probability value according to the contribution value generated by the neighborhood operation. In addition, a rapid evaluation strategy is designed to reduce the calculation time in the local search process. Finally, the effectiveness of LACO in solving GMCVRPSPD problem is verified by simulation experiment and algorithm comparison.

the charging scheduling of electric vehicles not only affects the operation of the grid system, but also affects the charging cost of vehicle users. this paper studies the charging scheduling problem of electric vehicles from the user’s perspective by considering the grid’s as well as the user’s needs. On the basis of real-time electricity prices, an electric vehicle charging scheduling system aiming at the lowest charging cost is designed and an optimal charging scheduling method based on dynamic programming is established. In order to reduce the unnecessary computational expenses, this paper optimizes the dynamic programming algorithm, and defines the state transition limit of the dynamic programming search space according to the actual constraints, which reduces the computational complexity. the simulation results show that, on the premise of satisfying the power constraints and user charging demands, the electric vehicles charging scheduling system can effectively reduce the charging cost and time. In addition, the charging process has little impact on the power system from the perspective of grid fluctuation.

Position control with PLC represents one of the high complexity software applications in the field of industrial automation. In this paper the authors present an automation design of two-axis control using Sinamics S210 and S7-1511T PLC which are useful for electrical engineering master's students. To provide an experience closer to real world applications and one that should allow the study of PLC programming, the PROFINET industrial communication protocol, design screens for Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) and positioning applications, the students can use the proposed solution in the faculty laboratories. they can start with the development of elementary complexity software applications, all the way to high complexity applications.

Swarm intelligence involves designing appropriate rules which make swarms with the same limited ability organize themselves to accomplish desired tasks. Numerous studies have designed many different motion rules. According to a designed rule, a swarm can self-organize into a desired pattern, such as a gathering pattern or a flocking pattern. However, for swarms that need to complete multiple tasks, it tends to be not enough to devise motion rules of forming a single pattern. therefore, this paper presents a logical transformation method of motion rules for swarms, which essentially matches different motion rules to corresponding conditional states. the method consists of two steps: the construction of the set of conditional states and the set of motion rules, and the matching optimization calculation using genetic programming. the feasibility of this method is verified by simulations. © 2021 IEEE.

this paper presents the implementation of a practical-based E-examination using the Arduino E-kit for STEM (science, Technology, engineering, and Mathematics) electronic and mobile learning. the aim is to leverage the Arduino platform, which offers a versatile and cost-effective solution, to enhance hands-on learning experiences for students in STEM disciplines. the E-kit includes Arduino microcontrollers, sensors and actuators that are available and free in cloud-based software Autodesk Tinkercad. the practical-based E-examination involves students applying their knowledge and skills to solve real-world problems using the Arduino E-kit after working with it throughout the semester in class. the paper discusses the design and implementation of the practical E-examination, including the selection of appropriate tasks, assessment criteria, and evaluation methods. It also highlights the benefits of utilizing the Arduino E-kit for practical E-examinations, such as fostering creativity, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking among students. the results of the implementation showed positive outcomes, with students demonstrating improved understanding of electronic concepts, enhanced programming skills, and increased engagement in the learning process. the use of the Arduino E-kit facilitates interactive and immersive learning experiences, enabling students to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge learnt in class and practical real-life application. the integration of Arduino technology in practical E-examinations enhances the learning process, encouraging active participation and promoting a comprehensive understanding of STEM concepts.

Users can buy, sell, and rate products securely, promoting transparency and trust. Additionally, AI technology provides price recommendations for vendors. Crafter’s Corner: An area for artists to exhibit their creations crafted from scrap materials. EcoMarket serves as a dedicated platform for artistic expression, emphasizing sustainability and upcycling. artists can engage with their audience through features like comments, likes, shares, and subscription options. the project wants to bring a fresh approach to eco-friendly art by combining imagination, new technology, and innovative ideas. It aims to bring order to disorder by reusing neglected materials and discovering new possibilities.

In order to meet the market demand for large-scale express transportation and develop railway express. this paper draws on the traditional railway passenger travel mode, and studies the passenger-oriented railway container express train travel mode considering the stopover. First, according to the predicted flow of express boxes between major cities, a container transportation network diagram is constructed. then, considering the two decision-making problems of the train stop plan and the flow plan of the trains carried at each station, the road a mixed-integer programming model with minimum cage hour consumption as the goal, and a two-layer genetic algorithm is designed to solve the problem. Finally, taking Shanghai Station-Chengdu Station as an example, a direct express container train from Shanghai to Chengdu and a passenger railway container express train with a stopover are compiled, and the algorithms are compared. the results show that the opening of railway container express trains that consider stopovers can reduce the transit time of express goods while meeting the express transportation needs of Shanghai-Chengdu stations. the solution obtained by the double-layer genetic algorithm is better than the single-layer genetic algorithm., and the gap between the approximate solution obtained by the two-layer genetic algorithm and the optimal solution obtained directly by GAMS is 1.25%. © 2022 SPIE

Cereals are a significant and vital source of food for humans. To feed the world’s expanding population, farmers must produce more crops. Plant diseases, however, have an impact on crop production and food quality. Wheat is among the most important crops consumed worldwide. Since Wheat Disease causes production loss, early disease detection and classification are absolutely essential. this research study has conducted a literature survey on studies published from the year 2017 to 2022 and summarized the three main types of Wheat Disease (fungal, bacterial, and insects), Wheat Disease datasets, and the current state of the art from the last six years of research. this research study has examined 24 studies on disease identification and classification by using various Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) algorithms. the proposed research analysis shows that the majority of the literature on Wheat Disease focused on fungal disease, and the majority of the datasets used were self-acquired. Many State-of-the-art models have already produced excellent results, and many more need to be developed.
