Embedded systems face an increasing number of attacks, necessitating improved security measures. However, the physical constraints of these devices often limit the use of traditional cryptographic techniques. To address this challenge, NIST organized a competition focused on lightweight cryptographic algorithms (LWC) tailored for embedded systems, aiming to minimize resource usage in low-power devices. this paper benchmarks the Rust, C, and Golang programming languages, considering their advantages in memory safety, portability, and concurrency, to implement the LWC algorithm finalist named TinyJAMBU. TinyJAMBU utilizes the non-linear feedback shift register (NLFSR) model as a core security element. the evaluation is conducted on embedded systems and FPGAs to determine the optimal strategy for mapping LWC cryptographic algorithms onto resource-constrained devices. Among the three languages, the C-based implementation achieves the highest runtime efficiency, while TinyGo demonstrates the lowest power consumption. Rust falls between the two, indicating trade-offs associated with each language. Despite its larger memory footprint of 73kB, the C-based implementation of TinyJAMBU outperforms other language implementations, achieving a faster runtime of ≈ 81 seconds for the same algorithm and 4-byte message size. Golang exhibits the smallest memory footprint of 19kB, while Rust’s memory footprint falls between the other two at 66kB. Furthermore, implementing TinyJAMBU on an FPGA using software-hardware partitioning with MicroBlaze takes ≈ 6.30 seconds to complete 10,000 encryption and decryption cycles, consuming around 1.09W of power. Although employing a proposed NLFSR co-processor with MicroBlaze for the 128-bit version of TinyJAMBU may not be the fastest approach, the reconfigurable nature of FPGAs allows for replicating the co-processor multiple times, offering significant advantages over the current state-of-the-art architecture of embedded systems.

Code smells slow down software system development and makes them harder to maintain. Existing research aims to develop automatic detection algorithms to reduce the labor and time costs within the detection process. Deep learning techniques have recently been demonstrated to enhance the performance of recognizing code smells even more than metric-based heuristic detection algorithms. As large-scale pre-trained models for programming Languages (PL), such as CodeT5, have lately achieved the top results in a variety of downstream tasks, some researchers begin to explore the use of pre-trained models to extract the contextual semantics of code to detect code smells. However, little research has employed contextual code semantics relationship between code snippets obtained by pre-trained models to identify code smells. In this paper, we investigate the use of the pre-trained model CodeT5 to extract semantic relationships between code snippets to detect feature envy, which is one of the most common code smells. In addition, to investigate the performance of these semantic relationships extracted by pre-trained models of different architectures on detecting feature envy, we compare CodeT5 with two other pre-trained models CodeBERT and CodeGPT. We have performed our experimental evaluation on ten open-source projects, our approach improves F-measure by 29.32% on feature envy detection and 16.57% on moving destination recommendation. Using semantic relations extracted by several pre-trained models to detect feature envy outperforms the state-of-the-art. this shows that using this semantic relation to detect feature envy is promising. To enable future research on feature envy detection, we have made all the code and datasets utilized in this article open source.

Symbolic regression (SR) is a challenging task in machine learning that involves finding a mathematical expression for a function based on its values. Recent advancements in SR have demonstrated the effectiveness of pre-trained transformer models in generating equations as sequences, leveraging large-scale pre-training on synthetic datasets and offering notable advantages in terms of inference time over classical Genetic programming (GP) methods. However, these models primarily rely on supervised pre-training objectives borrowed from text generation and overlook equation discovery goals like accuracy and complexity. To address this, we propose TPSR, a Transformer-based Planning strategy for Symbolic Regression that incorporates Monte Carlo Tree Search planning algorithm into the transformer decoding process. Unlike conventional decoding strategies, TPSR enables the integration of non-differentiable equation verification feedback, such as fitting accuracy and complexity, as external sources of knowledge into the transformer equation generation process. Extensive experiments on various datasets show that our approach outperforms state-of-the-art methods, enhancing the model's fitting-complexity trade-off, extrapolation abilities, and robustness to noise. the codes are available at: https://***/deep-symbolic-mathematics/TPSR

In order to read and write the motor controller parameters, download the motor controller program and make the upper computer interface display the running state of the new energy vehicle drive system. this paper designs a serial communication host computer software using Modbus communication protocol and Ymodem communication protocol. the CAN bus interface is provided by the motor controller. the PC is connected to the CAN bus interface of the controller through USB to realize the communication hardware connection between the upper computer and the lower computer. MFC development framework and C + + programming language are used to complete the development of the upper computer software in Visual Studio 2015. through the analysis of CAN Bus Analyzer and motor test bench, it shows that the upper computer software runs stably and can correctly read the motor controller parameters and send data to it. the design meets the expected requirements. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS) is a severe complication of monochorionic twin pregnancies. Fetoscopy laser photocoagulation is a widely adopted procedure for treating TTTS. In the process of fetoscopic laser photocoagulation of placental anastomoses, the limited field of vision of fetoscopy and low visibility in amniotic fluid environment will lead to inaccurate recognition of placental vessels, hinder photocoagulation, and prolong the surgery time. In this paper, we propose a novel transformer for placental vessels segmentation to help doctors quickly and accurately identify abnormal vascular anastomoses and monitor ablation status. the proposed model combines convolutional neural network (CNN) and transformer to capture long-distance information and local detail information. Compared with other methods on FetReg challenge Dataset, the segmentation performance of the proposed model reaches the state-of-the-art level. In addition, the model we designed has great application value due to its efficiency, lightweight and convenient deployment.

As we know, it’s valuable to take reliability validation on the spaceflight products under the condition of zero-failure data. Nevertheless, there have relatively fewer demonstrations based on Weibull distribution. An optimization design method of reliability validation test is researched based on Weibull distribution for improving the reliability of the products. the method can be summarized as follows: the working life and reliability index are primarily assumed. then the minimum cost is taken as the optimal target, the totality of samples and the proportional coefficients of the test time are defined as variables. Subsequently, the optimal function can be solved according to least squares method, with the numerical values chose reasonably in the scales of the variables. Finally, the optimal scheme can be obtained, in which the calculation result of the reliability index is meeting the given constraint. Example for optimal calculation of zero crossing test of a reaction wheel is presented and the credibility of the suggested method is confirmed. the propounded method can offer some instructions for the design of similar test programming. © 2021, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

the primary way to achieve thread-level parallelism on the Sunway high-performance multicore processor is to use the OpenMP programming technique. To address the problem of low parallelism efficiency caused by slow access to thread private variables in the compilation of Sunway OpenMP programs, this paper proposes a thread private variable access technique based on privileged instructions. the privileged instruction-based thread-private variable access technique centralizes the implementation of thread-private variables at the compiler level, eliminating the model switching overhead of invoking OS core processing and improving the speed of accessing thread-private variables. On the Sunway 1621 server platform, NPB3.3-OMP and SPEC OMP2012 achieved 6.2% and 6.8% running efficiency gains, respectively. the results show that the techniques proposed in this paper can provide technical support for giving full play to the advantages of Sunway’s high-performance multi-core processors. © 2021, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Microgrids contain different nanogrids with various power capacities and fluctuations in production. An overall strategy for managing power flow between all interconnected nanogrids is needed. this paper presents a multi-agent system approach for energy management among different nanogrids constituting a microgrid. In this paper, using multi-agent systems, the concept of collaborative microgrids with shareable resources is introduced. that allows the householders of an isolated district or community to collaborate and interact with eatch other in order to create a stable and proprietary microgrid. In addition, the proposed strategy emphasizes stockage decentralization, programming facilities for the designer. the results show that this approach is perfectly valid and can respond to most problems of centralized energy management systems while establishing a reliable and robust microgrid. © 2020 IEEE.

Nuclear reactor computing software need to process and maintain complex and massive data sets. In order to meet the requirement of mass data storage and processing in software, the data storage model and I/O method and programming interface of HDF5 (Hierarchical Data Format v5) are deeply studied. According to the data storage and processing requirement of typical nuclear reactor computing data such as assembly or core neutronics computing data and core thermal-hydraulic computing data, RCDF-H5 (Reactor Compute Data Framework based on HDF5) is proposed. KYMRES (KYlin-2 Main RESults databank) and COMRES (COre Main RESults databank) are designed and implemented based on RCDF-H5. the performance tests show that RCDF-H5 has a higher I/O efficiency than conventional storage solutions. A new data storage and management solution for nuclear reactor computing software is provided. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

the state of the art in model-driven software engineering is a combination of structural modeling and conventional programming to supply the operational behavior of the system. this fact leads to the so-called code generation dilemma when model and hand-written code evolve independently during the software development process. In this paper we present an approach of integrating two OMG standards to overcome this problem: A tight integration of UML used for structural modeling and the Action Language for Foundational UML (ALF) for behavioral modeling using a textual surface notation leads to a full-blown model-driven process which allows for the generation of fully executable source code. Supplying hand-written code fragments in the target language is no longer necessary.
