Affective science conducts interdisciplinary research into the emotions and other affective phenomena. Currently, such research is hampered by the lack of common definitions of terms used to describe, categorise and report both individual emotional experiences and the results of scientific investigations of such experiences. High quality ontologies provide formal definitions for types of entities in reality and for the relationships between such entities, definitions which can be used to disambiguate and unify data across different disciplines. Heretofore, there has been little effort directed towards such formal representation for affective phenomena, in part because of widespread debates within the affective science community on matters of definition and categorization. To address this requirement, we are developing an Emotion Ontology (EMO). the full ontology and generated OWLDoc documentation are available for download from https://***/svn/trunk/under the Creative Commons Attribution license (CC BY 3.0).

Web search behavior is being diversified. And the diversification of web search behavior makes query both sporadic and non-sequential. In this case, it is difficult to understand why and how users search any information. context of web search makes it possible to classify sporadic and non-sequential queries according to each interest. However, only the user him/herself can identify the context of web search behavior exactly. Hence, it is necessary to conduct a client-side research in which users are deeply engaged. the purpose of this research is to develop and apply the methodology that systematically examines the web search behavior and its context. To achieve this, (1) client-side log data is collected, then participants (2) clustered the queries based on context and (3) filled in a questionnaire as to each clustered queries. Also, interviews were conducted in each person. the finding of this study is that the features of UCQS are different from previous studies. Furthermore, we identified the flow of users' web search behavior.

this paper presents an approach for contextualizing an event-based decision support system for scheduling patient assessments in a hospital. To cope with unexpected delays, patient coordinators often pursue a worst case scenario when scheduling patient assessments, leading to an underutilization of human resources and equipment when the procedure went without complications. We present a context-based decision support system for patient planning that helps the patient coordinator with taking well-informed rescheduling decisions and anticipating changes in other patients' schedules. the system uses information and events produced by medical equipment. As these events can be non-deterministic, we demonstrate how our domain specific context model can be used to contextualize events to enhance their quality and ascertain their meaning.

this paper is devoted a problem of development of a mathematical model for description of heat and mass transfer processes at crown forest fire initiation and spread. Mathematical model of forest fire was based on an analysis of experimental data and using concept and methods from reactive media mechanics. this study gives a two dimensional averaged mathematical setting and method of numerical Solution of a problem of a forest fire spread. the boundary-value problem is solved numerically usingthe method of splitting according to physical processes. It was based on numerical Solution of two dimensional Reynolds equations for the description Of turbulent flow taking into account for diffusion equations chemical components and equations of energy conservation for gaseous and condensed phases. In this context, a Study - mathematical modeling - of the conditions of forest fire spreading that would make it possible to obtain a detailed picture of the change in the velocity, temperature and component concentration fields with time, and determine as well as the limiting conditions of forest fire propagation is of interest..

Ubiquitous computing is one of major trends in the IT world. context-aware is one of the heart elements in ubiquitous computing. To understand context, we must have some models which describe the real world. So, in this paper we present how to model contextual information and give some real context models. We use rule and ontology when we make context model. usingthe models, we can easily interpret meanings of the real world. the result of this paper can be used by context-aware applications.

Spoken Document Retrieval (SDR) is a promising technology for enhancing the utility of spoken materials. After the spoken documents have been transcribed by using a Large Vocabulary Continuous Speech Recognition (LVCSR) decoder, a text-based ad hoc retrieval method can be applied directly to the transcribed documents. However, recognition errors will significantly degrade the retrieval performance. To address this problem, we have previously proposed a method that aimed to fill the gap between automatically transcribed text and correctly transcribed text by using a statistical translation technique. In this paper, we extend the method by (1) using neighboring context to index the target passage, and (2) applying a language modeling approach for document retrieval. Our experimental evaluation shows that context information can improve retrieval performance, and that the language modeling approach is effective in incorporating context information into the proposed SDR method, which uses a translation model.

context awareness is an important aspect to be considered for intelligent recommendation systems. In this paper we consider the TV recommendation scenario. We argue that content-based recommendation is best suited for an environment where a database of similar user's ratings of the program is not available. Also, it is important to consider both user preferences as well as learned user behavior. We present our design of a context-aware TV recommender which considers the user's context, user's preferences and user's TV viewing behavior. We consider an algorithm reported in the literature which uses user modeling to learn user's viewing habits, and extend this algorithm to add context-based and user preference-based recommendations. Finally, we present our results of a user study which validates the efficiency of our algorithm.

context (sensor) systems are hard to model: they require constant updating and insightful approaches, especially considering the increasing data volume, variety, and generation rate of contemporary networking paradigms, like the Internet of things. In this paper, we argue that intelligent process models can be mined to look at the actual system activity from alternative context perspectives, i.e., perspectives observable from the sensor attributes themselves. We explain how the close relationship between the models derived using Process Mining, and Event-Driven Simulation can be exploited to help not only better understand what is happening in such systems but also provide alternative models for the intelligent solutions they support, such as context inference. We demonstrate this using a real-world example and discuss the feasibility of extending these alternative process models to be viewed as simulation. We envision automated steps that would result in traditional simulation models of contextusing Process Mining.

context middleware is an effective way to isolate the complexity of acquiring, processing and usingcontext/situation from context-aware applications. the context middleware design and implementation needs to support different applications, therefore the corresponding contextmodeling faces more challenges: how to support different requirement patterns, to model situation transitions effectively, and to simplify the using process of context. But most of current works only cover parts of the above challenges. there is no one reference model covering all. To address the issue, we present a layered context reference model (LCSM) for the context middleware to support different requirements of context/situation modeling. Each layer and mapping between layer models is presented in detail, together withthe application of LCSM model. We have implemented a prototype to illustrate the effectiveness of the LCSM model to the case. Compared with most relevant contextmodeling approaches, the LCSM reference model shows good adaptability to different requirement patterns.
