the modeling of human behavior becomes more and more important due to the increasing popularity of context-aware computing and people-centric applications. Inspired by the principle of action-as-language, we propose that human ambulation behavior share similar properties as natural languages. In this paper, we use a Life Logger system to build the behavior language corpus. the behavior corpus shows Zipf's distribution over the frequency of vocabularies which is aligned with our "Behavior as Language" assumption. Our preliminary results of using smoothed n-gram language model for activity recognition achieved an average accuracy rate of 94% in distinguishing among basic behaviors including walking, running, and cycling. this behavior-as-language corpus will enable researchers to study higher level human behavior based on the syntactic and semantic analysis of the data.

It is very difficult to simulate the realistic nonlinear dynamics model with an electrical motor with suitable control system. Recently in vehicle system design area it becomes more important for greenhouse gas emissions in the real world. this difficulties mainly exists in the time synchronize during the simulation between the mechanical field and the electrical field which should be combined into only one time integrator. this study proposes the integration approach to simulate the nonlinear system of mechanical vehicle modeling and block/script modeling for electrical control system by using an example study of forklift electric vehicle. In the interdisciplinary framework of RecurDyn and CoLink simulation environment, both tools are simultaneously analyzed in the same integrator. For demonstration of the proposed approach, fifteen degree-of-freedom multi-body model electric forklift vehicle and a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(PMSM) and controllers are represented.

Designing pleasant user experiences requires a wide spectrum of knowledge and input from a broad range of theories and research methods from various disciplines. In the field of user research, social sciences have informed and reshaped the once intuitive design process into a systematic activity by bringing more rigor into design research. In this process, various new methods have entered into design territory. these methods sometimes lose their connection to their origins;at other times, they gain additional meaning in their new context. In order to better frame user research in design, this paper provides an analysis of research methods from the perspective of the systematic conduct of research. A new classification scheme is introduced as a first step for the refinement of methods and concepts in user research. the proposed scheme extends from intuitive research to systematic research. the mapping on this scheme is project specific. While this approach to analyzing user research landscape provides an alternative taxonomy, this taxonomy is not exhaustive. Nonetheless, it aims to develop an overarching framework for design disciplines to better focus user studies.

Files are fundamental for information storage in computer operating systems. this paper explores user and environment context to improve personal file management. We focus on the user-oriented files in a computer operating system, which are usually operated manually, such as document files, image and video files. We formalize the dynamics of contexts to sequential signals, called context streams. Each context stream is a one-dimensional function of time. Withthe model of context stream, files can be reorganized using a set of discretely sampled streams based on file operation such as file creating, editing, and deleting. We proposed and implemented a file system withcontext streams, named Scud File. three applications of the Scud File, file browsing, file searching, and file recommendation, are introduced. the evaluation of time and usability demonstrates the effectiveness of the Scud File system.

We introduce and comment on the concept of contextual pseudo identity. A contextual pseudo identity is a soft identity token that is built from both a user's biometric and the context. When it comes to ubiquitous authentication, a contextual pseudo identity promises better security than that offered by traditional biometrics-based identity tokens: the use of context improves the tokens' disposability and renewability, which are two essential properties in the protection of a user's real identity. Our algorithm for generating contextual pseudo identities extends a Fuzzy Embedder so that it accepts both biometric and context-dependent input. We prove that our way of processing the context preserves the security and reliability properties of the Fuzzy Embedder used in our extension. An example shows how a user can utilize contextual pseudo identity to authenticate to and access ubiquitous services.

However, majority of the proposed systems have limited utility since either they are strictly context-sensitive or otherwise too general. In this paper, we report on building and evaluating a context-aware yet situation-adaptive Bayesian inference framework that predicts human mental states in varying *** use real and synthetic data to validate our hypothesis by modeling a three-layered Bayesian network (BN). We test this BN with two, and three context scenario, incrementally. the network gives an accuracy of above 85%. thus, the framework may be utilized for multiple contexts, in variety of affective computing application scenarios.
