the computational requirements leads to exponential rise of cores in the on-chip multiprocessor systems. As the cores are increasing, three dimensional (3D) integrated interconnect technologies getting significant importance. this leads to focus on design of 3D optical networks-on-chips (ONoC). the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is an essential performance parameter to analyse ONoCs. this work presents the SNR modeling and analysis of the two dimensional (2D) ONoCs and 3D ONoCs. the longest optical link of ONoC is selected for performance analysis. Here, the SNR performance of 2D and designed 3D ONoCs with increasing cores is accomplished using numerical simulation. For SNR calculations, average insertion loss and average crosstalk noise coefficient are calculated for three different routers: five port optical router, six port optical router and vertical router. After analysis, it is observed that the SNR of 3D ONoC is superior to 2D ONoC for increasing cores on-chip. © 2023 IEEE.

the rise in renewable energy capacities is crucial to reach general energy transition goals. the photovoltaic-thermal systems (PVT) are one of the market-available technologies that utilize solar energy for the production of heat and electricity. the overall performance of the PVT systems mainly depends on the specific design of the PVT collector and climate circumstances. In this work, the performance of the PVT system, coupled with the ice bank was experimentally analyzed in Mediterranean climate operating circumstances (city of Split, Croatia). the results indicated that the ice bank approach can slightly increase the production of electricity, however, it can significantly increase the overall efficiency of the PVT system thanks to the generation of usable heat. During the considered day, the developed PVT-PCM system collected 594 Wh of thermal energy, alongside 1210.2 Wh of electrical energy. the results are limited to short-term performance monitoring, i.e. the long-term experimental analysis is needed to get more precise data regarding the overall performance of the examined setup. © 2023 University of Split, FESB.

Adopting a screw algebra-based approach, this paper analyzes the stiffness of flexure hinges and the resultant reaction force (RRF) of a rigid origami-inspired modified Wren parallel mechanism with flexure hinges (WPM) capable of helical motion. Analytical solution of the RRF, consisting of force in the direction of translation and torque around the axis of helical motion, applied to the platform of the WPM by flexure hinges is revealed. Simulation is implemented to verify the theoretical analysis of the RRF of the WPM. To further validate the theoretical model, multi-layered aluminium composite panel is selected for fabricating flexure hinges and the WPM capable of high precise motion and large force transmission. the resistive torque of the flexure hinge and the RRF of the WPM are measured and compared with the analytical solution. Both simulation and experimental results reveal that the RRF of the WPM resulted from flexure hinges is precisely modelled using the screw algebra-based approach. A novel bipedal robot integrating the WPM is developed for applications in extreme environment where pneumatically actuated systems are preferred over electrical machines and drives. this study paves a way for developing novel WPM- integrated robotic devices and precisely modelling the coherent stiffness of the rigid origami-inspired parallel mechanisms with flexure hinges.

the Savonius wind rotor, a drag-based vertical-axis wind turbine, is gaining importance throughout the globe as a way to generate electricity while reducing global warming. Although it exhibits a lower performance, this type of rotor is gaining immense interest in the research community because of its straightforward design, self-starting capability, and operational ease. Over the past two decades, numerous blade profiles have been created to improve the performance of this rotor. A recently developed arc-elliptical blade profile has shown an improved performance characteristic. In the present computational study, this arc-elliptical blade profile is considered with a concentrated augmenter placed in front of it. the concentrated augmenter is placed to enhance the performance of the blade profile further. the arc-elliptical blade profile with the concentrated augmenter is investigated using a commercial computational fluid dynamic solver ANSYS Fluent 17.1 with the help of shear stress transport (SST) k-omega turbulence model. the torque and power coefficients of the augmented rotor have been evaluated for a range of tip-speed ratio. the results obtained in the present study are also compared with those of the arc-elliptical blade profile without the concentrators. An enhancement of C-Pmax by 4.11% is observed in the arc-elliptical bladed rotor with the concentrated augmenter as compared to the one without the augmenter.

this paper introduces a multiport phase-shifted switched capacitor converter that can be used in a DC-DC converter system that draws power from both solar panels and batteries. the proposed circuit uses a switched capacitor converter with multiple outputs and a variety of filters. the ZVS is the intended result of the design, and voltage stress reduction was a primary focus. the goal of minimizing the leakage current during soft switching. the 20 kHz frequency range was used for the simulation of a converter design. In order to lower the ripple voltage at the output, a cascaded-filter connection is made on that side. the converter has a high step-up voltage gain and reduces voltage stress on the power switch by striking the right balance between duty ratio and output voltage. By implementing a PID controller and a sliding mode controller, we can better control the voltage (SMC). Both open-loop and closed-loop simulation results are presented, and it is shown that they agree very well with the underlying fundamental analysis. © 2023 IEEE.

Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) presents a significant threat to the integrity and functionality of electronic circuits, necessitating robust protection mechanisms. this paper explores the detrimental effects of ESD on semiconductor devices and evaluates the efficacy of ESD protection circuits, with a focus on diode and Silicon Controlled Rectifier (SCR) based methodologies. Initially, the study delves into the principles and operational characteristics of diode-based ESD protection, highlighting their advantages and limitations. Subsequently, it examines the use of SCRs, noting their superior clamping capabilities and suitability for high-voltage applications. To provide a comprehensive understanding, the research includes the design and implementation of a Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) incorporating both diode and SCR-based ESD protection schemes. the performance of the LNA is rigorously analyzed under Charged Device Model (CDM) and Human Body Model (HBM) ESD stress conditions. the comparative analysis reveals critical insights into the trade-offs between noise performance and ESD robustness for each protection strategy. this study aims to contribute to the development of more resilient and efficient ESD protection techniques in advanced electronic systems. © 2024 IEEE.

Physical injuries resulting from collisions between people and moving robots are prevalent in automated manufacturing settings. To prevent hazardous situations, it is crucial to use appropriate simulation models of human actors during a design stage of production processes. this paper investigates an issue of human-robot interaction (HRI) safety and considers collision modeling within the Gazebo simulation environment. We evaluate a suitability of three existing human models: the standard Gazebo actor, the Gazebo actor with a collisions plugin, and the AR-601M robot-based human model, for use in scenarios involving collisions with moving physical objects. the study reveals significant differences in performance of these models, highlighting a need for accurate simulation tools in assessing and improving safety in human-robot interactions. © 2024 IEEE.

With the increasing shortage of power transmission corridors, hybrid high voltage direct current transmission (HVDC) system with multiple terminals is expected to be the mainstream trend of HVDC systems. Reliability evaluation of the HVDC systems has become an important link in power system planning, design, and operation. In this paper, the typical connection structure and operation mode of the hybrid HVDC system with multiple sending terminals is analyzed. the corresponding reliability evaluation method under subsystem division is proposed. Based on the reliability block diagram and state enumeration method, the capacity and probability of the transmission system under each fault state are analyzed, and then the forced energy unavailability (EU) index is used to quantify the reliability of the hybrid HVDC system with multiple sending terminals. the applications of the model are illustrated with numerical examples, and the influence of the reliability of the key equipment is analyzed. © 2023 IEEE.

Solar energy is a viable renewable energy, which can be utilized as an alternative source for conventional energy sources. Even though India has a high intensity of solar irradiation, it has not been utilized properly. So numerous researches have been emerged to enhance the performance of PV system using tracking devices. A solar tracker is a device which alters the position of a solar panel in accordance with the sun's position. In general, the tracking systems are fixed and results in low power. thus, to overcome this drawback, this work proposed a new tracking system using intelligent controller to enhance the power generated by a PV. Fuzzy controller have been incorporated to control the azimuth angle. thus the efficacy of the proposed topology is verified using MATLAB simulation. From the results, it is observed that the proposed system exhibits higher output power when compared to fixed panel. © 2023 IEEE.

A job seeker always spends hours searching through the massive amount of recruiting information on the Internet to identify ones that are helpful. the field of job recommender systems for recruiting has just evolved and experienced rapid growth. the job recommender systems view user profiles and design recommendation technologies that have drawn interest, been studied in academia, and been put into practice for some use cases in industries. this study creates and puts into practice a recommendation system for online job searching to lessen this tedious task. In this study, an architecture has been proposed to extract the most suitable professions based on the resume of the individual. Natural Language Processing and Machine learning are used to train the model that predicts the profession. then using this profession as a key, jobs are web scraped from ***. the required skills of the jobs are matched with the individual's skills using a cosine similarity algorithm and are ranked and displayed to the user. © 2023 IEEE.
