In the present research, 2×1 circular patch MIMO antennas with a DGS are designed and analyzed for WiMAX applications in the Ultra-Wideband system. the suggested antenna is found to have much higher radiation efficiency and isolation bandwidth. Simulations conducted in HFSS have demonstrated a notable improvement in the antenna's overall performance, mutual coupling, and return loss. through the UWB band of 3.1-10.6 GHz, the antenna exhibits a return loss (S11) of less than -10 dB and an isolation (S21) of less than -20 dB. With an efficiency above 85% and a peak gain of 5.8 dBi, the radiation patterns are omnidirectional. the DGS is appropriate for contemporary wireless communication systems that will need ultra-high data rates and great dependability because it effectively reduced mutual coupling and increased impedance bandwidth. this antenna operates between 3.3 and 3.6 GHz and between 5.3 and 5.5 GHz. © 2024 IEEE.

the construction of sponge cities has been ongoing for nearly a decade, during which we have made significant achievements and important contributions to ecological preservation. However, the process of planning, designing, implementing, operating, and maintaining sponge cities has also revealed numerous issues. this article provides an analysis of the current state of sponge city construction and the main problems that have emerged during the process. It emphasizes that the construction of sponge cities is a gradual and progressive journey, particularly in the current low-carbon context. the article reflects on the future development of sponge cities and provides suggestions for sustainable growth.

the combination of enhanced access to remotely sensed imagery and time series data together with the growing availability of artificial intelligence algorithms, has substantially broadened the community of users engaged in processing and analyzing earth observations over time. this will be particularly beneficial for the application of sustainable agricultural performance and for monitoring crops intermittently. the primary objective of this study is to design a methodology to be utilized in the analysis of crop dynamics based on Sentinel-2 multispectral remote sensing imagery. In this work, an algorithm is devised using Google Earth Engine (GEE) to illustrate cropping patterns and to map cropping intensity in the drought regions in Prakasam of Andhra Pradesh, India. this study focuses on understanding the cropping patterns for the years 2019–2023. this detection effort is used to analyze the impact of socio-ecological intervention carried out. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Induction heating is a new and emerging energy source applied to extrusion-based metal additive manufacturing. In this context, the shape of the induction heating coil assumes a pivotal role in shaping the thermal distribution on the extruder. During the printing process, the extruder's temperature undergoes variations, primarily influenced by the presence of both the substrate and the printing material. To investigate this phenomenon, a finite element simulation studied has been conducted on simulation model, exploring the impact of two distinct coil shapes: the helical and the conical-helical configurations. the study sought to discern the coil design that yields the most advantageous temperature profile for printing aluminum material. the findings from this investigation have significant implications for optimizing the extrusion-based additive manufacturing process in the context of induction heating. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

this research presents a novel assistive system designed to address communication and health monitoring challenges faced by paralysis patients. By integrating finger flex sensors, eye movement recognition, and vital sign measurement, the system offers a holistic solution for patient care. the proposed system utilizes a microcontroller and Bluetooth module to transfer sensor data to a mobile application, enabling effective communication between patients and caregivers. Performance analysis demonstrates the system's high accuracy in finger flex detection, eye blink recognition, and health monitoring. User feedback highlights the system's ease of use and its ability to facilitate communication and improve the quality of life for paralysis patients. the study emphasizes the system's extensibility, allowing for future integration of advanced sensor technologies and data analytics systems to enhance its capabilities and versatility. this assistive system represents a significant step towards improving the lives of paralysis patients by providing a reliable and effective communication and health monitoring solution. © 2024 IEEE.

With the increasing complexity and integration of digital technologies in power grids, ensuring their security and reliability has become a critical challenge. Cyber-physical threats pose significant risks to the stability and functionality of these systems. To address these challenges, there is a need for comprehensive testbeds that can simulate real-world scenarios and assess the resilience of power grid operations under various cyber-physical attack vectors. this paper presents a remotely accessible cyber-physical system (CPS) testbed that we designed and built to study the security and reliability issues of power grids. Utilizing Node-RED in the front-end and integrating GridPACK, HELICS, and NS3 in the back-end, the testbed provides comprehensive capabilities for simulating, monitoring, and analyzing power grid performance under various scenarios, including various kinds of cyber-attack. the CPS testbed enables us to measure performance metrics such as network latency, packet loss, voltage stability, and system response time are monitored under normal and attack conditions through various simulations and real-time data analysis. this testbed provides a valuable tool for researchers and engineers to study and improve power grid security and resilience. © 2024 IEEE.

In the development of the spacecraft system, reliability analysis is often performed independently of the system design, and its input is usually an artificial abstract of the design scheme, such as function trees or block diagrams. this model gap between analysis and design lead to uncertainty in the results, while the conclusions are difficult to feed directly into the system design. In addition, manual reliability analysis consumes a lot of time and effort, while also increase the risk of errors. With the rapid growth in the size and complexity of spacecraft systems, reliability analysis is becoming increasingly challenging and its value is difficult to show. To cope with these difficulties, model-based systems engineering has emerged. However, MBSE focuses on requirements for traceability without a precise definition of reliability, resulting that the model conversion is still needed. In order to truly exploit the advantages of MBSE, this paper proposes a system design framework integrated reliability analysis for complex spacecraft system using MBSE. Both the design and reliability analysis are based on a single SysML model, from which FMEA and fault tree analysis can be generated directly. this framework ensures the consistency of the system model and the reliability model, eliminating the model conversion and reducing the workload of manual analysis. In the paper, we propose a novel robust control with two tunable design parameters for aero-engines. Engines are modeled as fuzzy dynamical systems with (possibly fast) time-varying but bounded uncertainties. Rather than probability theory, the uncertainties are described by the fuzzy set theory. A robust control was designed on this basis, and two adjustable design parameters must be determined. To deal with the multiple-parameter multi-objective optimization problem, the cooperative game theory is skillfully applied to render the best control performance. Unlike other multi-objective optimization approaches, cooperative game theory can determine the existence of solutions and obtain Pareto optimality through rigorous mathematical analysis and proof. the proposed control is applied to a turbofan engine, and compared with the Sliding Mode Control (SMC), the simulation results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed control method. © 2023 IEEE.
