In the marine electric propulsion system, the motor is an important part to ensure safe navigation, which should have the characteristics of low noise, low vibration, high performance protection level, etc. the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) has the advantages of rapid dynamic response, stable operation, strong overload capacity, high efficiency and small size, which is especially suitable for electric propulsion systems in marine environments. According to the performance requirements of marine motors and the permanent magnet synchronous motor structural characteristics, an electromagnetic design and simulation of a 120kW marine permanent magnet synchronous motor is completed in this paper. Meanwhile, the stator skewed slot is used to reduce the amplitude of harmonic distortion and the additional torque caused by tooth harmonic. At same time, the rotor structure with U-shaped magnetic steel groove is used to enhance the density of power and overload capacity of the motor, expand the scope of motor constant power operation effectively. A prototype with high efficiency, reliability and a small volume has been developed. According to the simulation results, the marine permanent magnet synchronous motor designed in this paper fully meets the design requirements. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In this paper, the power supply stability analysis method and simulation verification technology for spacecraft are studied, and the data model for analyzing the matching stability of primary power supply and compressor power supply is derived, the Middlebrook stability criterion and root locus method are used to analyze the dynamic response characteristics and stability of the energy system during the compressor operation, it is used to simulate and analyze the matching between the spacecraft energy system and the load. the key parameters of the system optimization are obtained and applied to the systems engineering design successfully.

this paper addresses the metal detection problem in wireless charging automation systems and investigates the detection probe structure by means of an external foreign object detection method. Typical core structures were compared in terms of magnetic field distribution, magnetic field direction, etc. Based on the results of the comparative analysis, the core structure and winding method with certain advantages are selected. this method can realize the reasonable configuration of the external detection probe of the wireless charging guide plate, which provides an important basis for the design and trial production of the subsequent inspection system.

Morphing aircraft wings are one of the proposed solutions to reducing aviation's environmental impact as they seek to improve the aircraft's aerodynamic efficiency and thereby reduce greenhouse gas emissions. the competing structural requirements of morphing skins, which are required to have a high out-of-plane stiffness to resist aerodynamic loading and a low in-plane stiffness to keep the actuation energy low, are one of the key reasons why this technology is not yet being deployed on a large scale. the novel Geometrically Anisotropic thermoplastic Rubber (GATOR) morphing skins introduced by these authors seek to take advantage of multi-material 3D printing and structural scaling laws to allow for better compromises between the competing design constraints. In this work, a finite element study of the novel GATOR skins is presented exploring the fundamental relationships between skin configuration and performance of a GATOR skin panel consisting of two face sheets and a zero Poisson's ratio Morphcore using a numerical model comprised of second-order 3D elements and 2D first-order elements to model the core and the skin, respectively which was validated with experimental results. the GATOR skin is divided into 6 unique design parameters: core height, bending member thickness, core thickness, bending member angle, the distance between the unit cells, and skin thickness. A detailed design space analysis shows how those parameters influence the performance metrics such as axial and bending rigidity and mass properties to better understand what effect they have on those competing design requirements and how they can be used in a targeted way to optimize a GATOR skin.

A novel framework in multi-agent system networks is introduced and analyzed in this article, namely coupled output synchronization over directed graph topologies. Under assumptions of a rooted spanning tree, we design a distributed control law for synchronization of Laplacian coupled outputs of double integrator dynamics. the analysis of the closed-loop systems communicating over digraphs is carried out via Lyapunov methods. the vehicle platooning problem is demonstrated as a direct application of our results on coupled output synchronization. the control is distributed and independent of the knowledge of eigenvalues of the graph Laplacian. Simulations verify the performance of the controller with and without disturbance.

In recent years, sentiment mining has been used within politics and social media to understand the emotions and opinions that people have about society and different political groups to help bring change. However, in the user centered design process, a main component that helps bring change is the use of user feedback and there has been little research in terms of adopting sentiment mining to assist with this and the user experience of an application. this research paper implements the use of sentiment mining on user survey feedback from Jupyter Notebook and has identified different components of the user experience that caters for novice and expert users independently. Recommendations from this research will help Jupyter Notebook create a user experience that caters to novice and expert users and their workflow needs. this initial analysis has identified that sentiment mining provides important and subtle enhancements for user experience that other tools and techniques do not provide. therefore, this is a worthwhile method of user experience assessment to foster to enhance a digital user experience. © 2022 IEEE.

Successive Approximation Register (SAR) Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADCs) are widely employed in low-power applications due to their high energy efficiency and moderate-speed operations. Among the key building blocks of SAR ADCs, the comparator plays a crucial role in determining the conversion accuracy, decision speed, and overall power consumption. Since the comparator is a major contributor to power dissipation, optimizing its design is essential for improving the energy efficiency of SAR ADCs. this paper presents a comparative analysis of different architectures used in SAR ADCs, evaluating their power consumption to determine the most energy-efficient design. the results of this study provide valuable insights for designing low-power SAR ADCs, with implications for energy-constrained applications such as IoT devices, biomedical sensors, and energy-efficient embedded systems.

the ongoing fourth industrial revolution, also known as Industry 4.0, was first introduced in 2011 at the Hannover Fair in Germany. Nowadays, such paradigm still represents a hot topic in the field of industrial engineering, with the aim to boot a radical transformation of the companies through the implementation of a set of new concepts and technologies, as Internet of things (IoT), Augmented Reality (AR) and Big Data Analytics. Globally, companies all over the world expect to experience relevant benefits by implementing such emerging principles in terms of technical, economic, environmental and ergonomic performances. After providing a structured definition of the Industry 4.0 and a classification and description of its main enabling technologies, the aim of this paper is to perform a critical assessment about the Industry 4.0 principles implementation focusing on the three main transport sectors: automotive, aeronautical and railway, highlighting the most widespread technologies and the developed applications. the present paper provides valuable knowledge to support researchers and business practitioners in understanding the current implementation level of Industry 4.0 principles in the aforementioned sectors, supporting them in identifying the most compelling goals to be achieved in the near future.
