Model-driven methods are increasingly being adopted in many industrial sectors to support the design and development of software intensive systems. Many available model-based system engineering methods support progressive levels of functional decomposition, enabling to reason at different levels of granularity. In contrast, requirements modelling tends to stay quite monolithic in nature despite the ability to provide different forms of refinement and traceability. this work analyses how to better structure requirements across multiple levels in the scope of goal-oriented requirements engineering to provide better support for decomposition and analysis of inner subcomponents or the outer system of systems. We introduce the explicit notion of system and show how to integrate it in the widely used KAOS and i* frameworks. Our extension is prototyped on available tools and validated on two complementary case studies of a meeting scheduler and a smart city.

this brief considers the problem of state estimation for networked control systems with malicious packets drop between controllers and actuators. We firstly take advantage of the statistical characteristics of packets drop to estimate the system state. However, when it is difficulty to obtain the statistical characteristics of packet drops, we transform the uncertain malicious packet drops estimation problem into an unknown input estimation problem, then we design a recursive estimator, in which the unknown input estimator is obtained from the innovation analysis and the state estimate is derived by a procedure which similar to the Kalman filter. Finally, we utilize simulation examples to show the effectiveness of the estimators. © 2023, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Participatory design has struggled in the context of large public systems development. Two decades ago, "reformist PD agenda", inviting PD practitioners to consider participation in public sector development, assess paradigm claims and revitalise the political perspective of PD. Today's digitalisation wave, with public digital services becoming the only option for citizen interaction with authorities, reveals digital inequalities in society that once again puts focus on civic agency in public sector design. this paper investigates user participation in digital public service design through an empirical study, composed by twelve semi-structured interviews with key actors in digitalizing public services in Denmark, followed by a thematic analysis. the study highlights how the national digital strategy, procurement processes, available competence and other factors shape user participation in public sector design. Based on these findings, we reflect on the potential role of PD in contemporary public sector design. © 2024 Owner/Author.

the downscaling of FET devices has begun to constrain the performance aspects of their applications, forcing researchers to adopt and investigate newer alternative designs to meet the required standards. Again, maintaining a consistent doping concentration across the device may lead to complications such as Random Dopant Fluctuations (RDF) and thermal budgeting, which can impede device outputs. this publication focuses on a vertical dual pocket biosensor design based on junctionless SiGe-Heterostructured TFET using charge-plasma technology to alleviate the RDF limitations while enhancing the tunneling process. In addition, the amount of biomolecules in the pockets impacts the device's sensitivity. To enhance the space available for trapping biomolecules, it is beneficial to either lengthen the pockets or add additional pockets. Due to the modification in dielectric constants (k) and charge densities, an increase in the trapping area adds to a quicker alteration of the sensor's electric characteristics. the additional area boosts the device's overall sensitivity to 7.78×108 when neutrally charged DNA (k=8.7) molecules are present and to 3.50×109 when positively charged. With the enhanced sensitivity provided by the auxiliary pocket design and the simplified production procedure due to the charge plasma method, this study may serve as a blueprint for future research into ultrasensitive biosensor alternatives. © 2023 IEEE.

the paper introduces the main contents of the revision of Technical Specification for the design of Steel Supporting Structures of Overhead Transmission Line (DL/T 5486-2020) briefly, and discusses the differences between the main regulations that have a greater impact on the design of transmission towers and the Technology for design of Tower Structures for Overhead Transmission Lines (DL/T 5154-2012). the influence of the revision of the regulations on the general design of 35kV ~ 750kV towers was explored, and the optimization suggestions for the general design of towers were put forward. © 2023 SPIE.

A novel steel was proposed to apply to a ship, thereby enabling ships to safely complete their missions. But it is different in the ultimate bearing capacity between the novel material and traditional low-alloy high-carbon steels. there is little research on it. In this paper, the ultimate strength and the destruction mode of the typical cabin made of the novel steel under the hazardous condition are successfully obtained through a four-point bending test. Numerical simulation of the typical cabin at its limit state is verified by the test. Based on the numerical simulation method, theoretical initial deformation and ideal constitutive relation are introduced, which contributes to more conservative prediction for the ultimate strength of the ship made of the novel steel. this paper has guiding significance for subsequent tests and provides technical support for the structure design of the ship made of the novel steel. © the Author(s) 2024.

Small signal instability of low frequency mode (LFM) about 1-10Hz caused by interaction of outer loop and PLL had been observed in voltage source converters operated in weak grid condition (WG-VSC). WG-VSC in traditional vector control mode has to operate in a low output power level to ensure LFM small disturbance stability (LFM-SDS). Existing studies have proposed a variety of improved control strategies by design compensation control for "outer loop-PLL"interaction to improve WG-VSC output power upper limit in LFM small signal manner. However, there is still lack of a comparison and analysis on the difference and unity of these control strategies on influence mechanism of LFM-SDS. Based on a PLL-equivalent model for analyzing the LFM-SDS mechanism of WG-VSC, this paper reveals the influence mechanism of a type of LFM-SDS improved control strategies which are realized by designing compensation control loop. And the equivalence of this type of control strategies on LFM-SDS improvement effect is point out. Simulation results with detailed switching model based on PSCAD/EMTDC have verified the theoretical analysis. © 2023 IEEE.

With the trend towards larger and higher capacity units, tilting-pad journal bearings are being increasingly used in hydropower units. through thermo-hydrodynamic (thD) analysis, it is possible to establish pressure differential equations that consider the change in oil viscosity with temperature, which is essential to ensure safe operation of the bearing. Further research on the flowing characteristics of tilting-pad journal bearings, especially about installation deviations, is essential for giant hydropower unit. this study establishes a three-dimensional model of a 1000 MW hydropower unit's turbine journal bearing to investigate temperature, pressure distribution, and load under various installation deviation scenarios. the findings aim to optimize the design and engineering practices of tilting-pad bearings in rotating machinery, meeting the evolving needs of the power industry. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing. In order to achieve non-contact high-precision measurement of object position, a micro displacement measurement system based on PSD was designed. AD7606 is selected for signal acquisition and analog-to-digital conversion, and STM32F405 is used as a microcontroller to calculate position coordinates and transmit them to the host computer for display, achieving real-time measurement of spot microdisplacement. the stability and accuracy of the measurement results are improved through interference analysis and using the unscented Kalman filter algorithm. the experimental results show that the system can measure the position coordinates of light points in real time, and the resolution of the PSD measurement system is 1 μ m, and the stability error of the measured light point coordinates is within 7 μ m, with high accuracy and stability, which can be applied to the field of micro displacement measurement. © 2023 IEEE.

Electricity fraud is causing huge losses in both the public and private sectors. the proposition of this paper uses a temporarily controlled learning program to include potential theft data from non-specific data on the existence of multiple sample theft. there are two basic applications, one anticipating the use of power and the other to create a broken application and analysis space. Both are rushing for power protection in creating configuration, redesign, and functionality. Because of the significant costs of energy acquisition, as a restricted measure of energy assets, the efficient and effective use of energy assets is an important part of social and financial development in any country. this work introduces two accounting frameworks for the detection of theft of high- and low-power consumers who rely on machine learning. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.
