the buckling and post-buckling response of trapezoidal panels under non-uniform compression and thermal environment are investigated here using finite element-based software ANSYS considering eight node shell element. Here, author considered the flat and trapezoidal panels and analyzed the stability characteristics of these structures under thermal and mechanical load with various boundary conditions. Firstly, determined the critical buckling load of isotropic trapezoidal panels under various loading conditions (uniform, parabolic, triangular and concentrated) in the presence of thermal load. the accuracy of present model is examined by comparing present numerical results with available published results. thereafter, the post-buckling path of these thin-walled structures is also presented considering various boundary conditions such as fully clamped (CCCC), movable simply supported and immovable simply supported. Here, the effect of boundary conditions and loading conditions on the stability of trapezoidal flat and curved panels is investigated. Present results will be helpful to design engineers to design safe and reliable thin-wall structures under thermal and mechanical load. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

With the increasing complexity, digitization, and informatization of radar equipment, the integrated support systems for such equipment require significant upgrades. Leveraging the Model-Based systems engineering (MBSE) design philosophy and addressing the practical operational and maintenance scenarios of radar equipment, this paper proposes a modeling method for radar equipment integrated support system based on ARCADIA methodology, including operational analysis and system analysis this approach facilitates the co-design of radar integrated support systems and equipment, advancing the transition from experience-based design to model-based system design, thereby enhancing the accuracy and collaboration in radar integrated support system design.

this paper describes the design and development of a virtual simulator of a human hand with 25 degrees of freedom (DOF). the design is based on kinematics modeling that is formulated as DH parameters and table of each finger. To verify the modeling results, simulation experiments were performed on MATLAB using SynGrasp toolbox which is then compared with the results obtained using manual calculations. Virtual and hardware prototypes of the prosthetic hand are also designed using SolidWorks and 3D printing to demonstrate motion simulations of the hand using input signals that take the form of joints' angle variation. Simulation results are presented to illustrate the effective motion of the hand kinematics' virtual model. © 2023 IEEE.

the randomness of wind and light output and the anti-peak characteristics increase the difficulty for the power grid to absorb new energy. Based on the flexible and adjustable characteristics of source side and load side, the bilateral participation rules of source and load are designed to guide the two-way power coordination between source and load over time to support the efficient consumption of clean energy. Firstly, non-parametric kernel density estimation method is used to describe the probability density curve of new energy/load forecasting error, without assuming that new energy/load obeys a fixed distribution;On this basis, a simulation generation method of standby demand scenario based on Monte Carlo method is proposed to determine the total standby capacity. then, according to VCG theory, the substitution benefits of other market participants are quantified by one market participant (new energy/load), and the standby cost is allocated to the new energy/load side in proportion based on the value. Finally, taking the modified IEEE 30-bus system as an example, the simulation analysis verifies the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2023 IEEE.

Accurate and reliable traffic flow prediction is of significant importance for alleviating traffic congestion and serves as the foundation for deploying intelligent traffic management systems. Existing traffic flow prediction models often rely on data collected from fixed devices. However, these fixed devices cannot cover the entire traffic network due to high maintenance costs and other reasons. In response to this problem, this paper proposes a short-term traffic flow prediction CNNBILSTM-Attention model optimized based on the sparrow search algorithm. the model utilizes the sparrow search algorithm to search for global optimal advantages, thereby improving the accuracy of the traffic flow prediction model. A case study was conducted using ICV detection data obtained from the simulation of the Huangtian intersection in SUMO. the performance of various models, including LSTM, BiLSTM, CNNBiLSTM, CNNBiLSTM-ATT, and SSA-CNNBiLSTM-ATT, was compared at a 5% penetration rate of intelligent connected vehicles. Experimental calculations yielded the following results: the Mean Absolute Error (MAE) for the above models were 4.78, 4.75, 4.89, 4.69, and 4.66, respectively, while the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) was 6.39, 6.45, 6.26, 6.20 and 5.97, respectively. Additionally, the predictive performance of the model was explored under different penetration rates of intelligent connected vehicles. the analysis revealed that the performance of SSA-CNNBiLSTM-ATT improved with increasing penetration rates of intelligent connected vehicles. the experimental results demonstrate that the performance of the SSA-CNNBILSTM-ATT model is significantly superior to existing models. © 2023 IEEE.

this study presents the design and analysis of a device for converting waste cooking oil into biodiesel to reduce pollution and increase waste treatment. Transesterification is employed to transform waste cooking oil into biodiesel, which occurs in a reactor tank with controlled temperature and uniform mixing. the device is created for residential purposes, where a single unit caters to a group of ten households within an apartment complex. this study analyzes fluid mechanics and chemical processes and tests various impeller designs to ensure proper mixing between chemicals. In addition, static stability of the tank supports is also examined. © 2023 ASHRAE.

In this article, we propose a novel fuzzy confidence index-based approach for system analysis and control design. Firstly, a new exponential-type control approach is proposed to stabilize the lateral motion of the vehicle. the performance, uniform boundedness and uniform ultimate boundedness, are guaranteed regardless of the uncertainty via this control. then, we establish a creative fuzzy confidence index-based approach to enhance the system performance. A fuzzy set prescription is used for the uncertainty characteristics and this index-based approach is used to measure the fuzzy numbers for the selection of control design parameters. therefore the corresponding expectation values are obtained. Based on that, a performance index with fuzzy numbers is designed and the optimal choice of the design parameters is determined by minimizing this index. As a result, this confidence index-based approach is able to accomplish a unique twofold performance: robustness and optimality. © 2023 IEEE.

Taking the mining area buildings in Yulin area as the main research object, the annual heat load of the building is calculated. the maximum heat load is 1890 kW, and the domestic heat load is 126 kW. Aiming at the heat load demand, the simulation models of solar series water source heat pump (SA-WSHP) and solar parallel air source heat pump (SA-ASHP) system are established by TRNSYS software, and their performance is compared and analyzed. the feasibility of solar collector plate, water source heat pump, air source heat pump, water tank and other components is verified by experiments, and the water supply and return temperature, heating performance, heat supply and power consumption of the two systems are compared. the results show that the supply and return water temperature and COP of the solar series water source heat pump system are relatively stable, and the energy consumption is reduced by 48.7%. the heating of Yulin mining area shows that the solar energy series water source heat pump system is more efficient and energy saving. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

this paper proposes A novel medical waste-to-hydrogen design based on plasma gasification. the new system makes use of the syngas exported from the plasma gasifier to produce hydrogen, and by recovering the waste heat of the process, it greatly improves the energy utilization efficiency, solves the waste pollution problem, and alleviates the energy scarcity problem, and reduces carbon emissions. the combination of both energy analysis and exergy analysis are used to effectively promote the optimization and development of the system to achieve the reduction, harmlessness, and resourceful disposal of medical waste. 131.17 kg/h of hydrogen is produced by the novel system when 833.33 kg/h of medical waste is consumed. the process efficiency of the novel system can reach 70.73%. the novel system has a total exergy loss of 2.25 MW and a process exergy efficiency of 65.39. the results of the thermodynamic analysis show that the novel system is efficient and feasible. © 2023 IEEE.

To obtain the historical travel time and space trajectories of public transportation (PT) passengers and analyze the characteristics and patterns of their trips and activities, the PT trip-chain modeling and analysis methods are studied. the mathematical expression and attribute classification of the PT trip-chain model are given, the theoretical framework of applying multi-source big data to build the PT trip-chain model is proposed, and the trip-chain method is applied to judge the bus passengers' alighting stops, the transfer behavior is judged by calculating the reasonable transfer time of passengers' two consecutive trips. the PT trip-chain model is constructed by integrating passengers' travel spatio-temporal information, and the PT travel is systematically summarized. the analysis contents of group and individual characteristics are summarized systematically. the proposed modeling and analysis methods are experimented and validated by applying large-scale actual data. the results show that the PT trip-chain model establishes a basis for systematically analyzing the travel characteristics and patterns of passengers, which can provide a scientific basis for the planning and management of PT systems. © 2023 SPIE.
