the caisson wharf's seismic response is an essential issue in the design and construction. the finite element method is used in numerical simulation. the complex internal components of the caisson structure are usually simplified when modeling, and connection between steel and concrete which affect the results are ignored. Based on the project of Putian port, constraint equation method is used in the numerical model, dynamic response of caisson wharf under earthquake is studied and results of static analysis and dynamic time history analysis are obtained. It shows that the proposed numerical modal is more realistic and can obtain more reasonable results. Under seismic action, displacement and stress increase obviously at the beginning of earthquake, and decrease with time until a trend of stability. As the shape mutation, the stress concentration phenomenon occurred at the caisson front toe and back toe, and toes need to be strengthened during design and construction. the results can provide a reference for the seismic design of caisson wharf.

the dam stability is vital to the landfill safety, and its design and analysis generally refer to several relevant specifications. therefore, taking the concrete gravity dam of a typical landfill project in Hangzhou as the background, both limit equilibrium method (LEM) consisting of two simplified calculation modes and strength reduction method (SRM) are adopted to analyze the dam stability. the calculation models are simplified and the resulting ultimate sliding surfaces are similar to each other. the safety factors are 1.474 and 1.469 in the LEM, respectively. However, it is 1.23 in the SRM. the difference can be due to the different calculation mechanism. Considering some actual construction factors, the dam could be identified in a stable state. Finally, the analysis framework of the concrete gravity dam in a landfill is expected to be a reference for similar projects.
