Wind energy has emerged as a rapidly growing source of renewable energy worldwide, offering a viable alternative due to its virtually infinite resource availability. One promising approach to enhance the efficiency of wind turbines is the use of diffusers, which can channel and accelerate wind flow towards the turbine, thereby increasing its velocity and power output. However, careful consideration of various factors and limitations is essential when implementing this concept. this research focuses on utilizing a diffuser with a brim design to effectively accelerate wind flow at the turbine location. the study involved a comparative analysis using ANSYS Fluent, SolidWorks Flow Simulation softwar's, and experimental measurements to optimize the geometric dimensions of the selected diffuser. the obtained results demonstrate a remarkable increase in wind speed, reaching 1.36 to 1.77 times the approaching wind speed, by implementing the brimmed diffuser. this significant enhancement in wind velocity translates into a substantial boost in power output from the wind turbine. © 2023 IEEE.

With the increasing circuit complexity of chip design, wafers are prone to defects in the production process. Since different defects have their causes, post-analysis is important to wafer production. However, the sample size is not balanced, and the effect of classical residual networks is limited. this article uses a Split-Attention network (ResNeSt) with which feature maps will be input into k-base groups, each consisting of r groups. thanks to the large receptive field, image features can be obtained better. We add channel attention and give higher weight to the effective feature channels to improve network performance. Compared with the classical residual network, the new network has an improvement of 43.06%, 32.73%, and 10.86% in handling Scratch, Near-full, and Local defects, respectively. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing. Heterogeneity in traffic poses challenges in the analysis of traffic data for future forecast planning and design of highway facilities. Of the various parameters that are essential for the data analysis, lane adherence is an important parameter that plays a vital role in mapping traffic characteristics of a stream, in terms of capacity, safety, etc. there is a common perception that lane adherence of mixed traffic is poor. It is learnt from studies that the speed range of motorized vehicles is becoming narrower and attempt to stick to a lane is on the rise. Lane adherence needs to be promoted for better discharge at intersections in urban areas and safe travel. the improved design and construction of roads to standards are encouraging drivers to follow lane discipline. there seems to be pattern in selection of lane according to the speed of travel and size of vehicles. Automatic classified counting sensors have facilitated recording the position of vehicles with respect to cross section of the road. Precise information of vehicle position recording helps in study of lane adherence at a section. Daylong continuous data recording was carried out with infra-red-based sensor, TIRTL on three intercity roads. Apart from information about vehicle position from the edges of road, data such as speed, flow, headway and vehicle category was obtained. the traffic flow characteristics on the three intercity roads (two-lane undivided, four-lane and six-lane divided highways) and lane adherence observed are reported in this paper. the results indicate lane adherence of heterogeneous traffic flow is observed. the results could help planners and engineers to decide deployment of sensors for data collection and to plan optimal traffic management. © 2023, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Compared with the traditional separately designed guidance and control system, the integrated guidance and control system can directly obtain the rudder Angle command according to the relative motion information of the missile and the motion parameters of the guided rocket, which improves the overall performance of the system and avoids redundant and repetitive design. Based on dynamic surface control, a nonlinear differentiator is introduced to design an integrated guidance control algorithm considering the constraints of miss distance and fall Angle, and the closed-loop stability of the system is proved. Finally, the superiority of the algorithm in dynamic surface convergence accuracy and guidance accuracy is verified by simulation results.

As an innovative information technology, Digital Twin has greatly promoted the development of intelligent manufacturing in the industry. However, in the field of geotechnical engineering, there are still few researches on this aspect, which is still a "new territory" and "no man's land". the concept of digital twin coincides with the needs of geotechnical engineering informatization, so the introduction of digital twin technology into the field of geotechnical engineering will help to promote the development process of geotechnical engineering informatization and digitization. this paper puts forward and defines the digital twin model of geotechnical engineering, describes the connotation of the digital twin model, and studies the architecture of the digital twin model of geotechnical engineering. On this basis, the integration and sharing mechanism of geotechnical engineering digital twin data based on BIM technology is proposed. In order to break through the defect that the geotechnical engineering information model has not fully played its role for a long time, an integrated model of geological body and structural body is constructed based on the construction and integration module of geotechnical digital twin model. Furthermore, the geotechnical engineering digital twin simulation analysis module is developed to initially form the geotechnical engineering digital twin model, so as to realize the geotechnical engineering digital design, collaborative construction, visual decision-making and transparent management.

this study's primary goal is to investigate how various airfoils' maximum camber positions affect hydrofoil cavitation performance. through numerical simulation, the cavitation flow properties of hydrofoils with various maximum camber positions are compared. the accuracy of the modified turbulence viscosity and SST k-ω turbulence model on the temporal and spatial evolution characteristics of cavitation near the hydrofoil is evaluated by combining it with the model test. analysis is done on the cavitation flow field of four airfoils at two distinct design angles of attack (+4° and +6°) with varying maximum camber locations (fmax = 35%C, 40%C, 50%C, and 60%C). the findings indicate that at 35%C, the hydrofoil's maximum camber position has improved cavitation performance. the hydrofoil's cloud cavitation evolution time is shorter than that of the original hydrofoil, and during the same time period, more cavitation is generated. the lift-to-drag ratio and lift coefficient of the cavitation flow field are significantly improved at both angles of attack. At the same time, the vorticity distribution and entropy generation distribution can be effectively reduced under the design angle of attack and high angle of attack cavitation, and the hydraulic loss in the cavitation flow field can be reduced. this research can serve as a guide for optimizing the hydrofoil's cavitation performance and designing the impeller of the axial flow pump that follows. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing.
