the significance of the Internet of things (IoT) is growing in the contemporary information age due to its quick acquisition of diverse data. Both the IoT and cloud computing systems generate vast quantities of data. Fog computing, a technique that employs leveraging, is utilised to process substantial volumes of data. Subsequently, the processed data are transmitted to a cloud storage system using fog nodes. the installation of an IoT-Fog-Cloud system leads to enhancements in both latency and throughput. the primary responsibility of the fog nodes inside the IoT-Fog-Cloud system is to perform localised collection, monitoring, and storage of IoT workload and data. this function serves to enhance efficiency and availability within the system. the discussion of compliance with Quality of Service (QoS) standards constitutes the pertinent subjects and challenges that necessitate attention in fog computing. the present article employs an M/M/1 retrial queueing model and analytical methodology to assess and examine the performance of the IoT-Fog-Cloud system, thereby offering a solution to the problem at hand. the mathematical methods employed in this study enable the determination of the service arrival required to meet the QoS criteria in IoT layer. It also provides mathematical expressions for various performance metrics of the system, including the arrival rate, service rate, retrial rate, and the average waiting time for requests in the system. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Severe and common injuries involving burns to the hands and wrists can often lead to permanent loss of motion. the issue is exacerbated by the delicate nature of tendons and muscles in the hands, along with the formation of scar tissue. While rehabilitation exercises can help improve the range of motion, early-stage recovery requires additional tension on the affected areas. To address this concern, a novel project was initiated, aiming to develop a specialized splint for later-stage rehabilitation. this innovative splint allows users to carry out their daily tasks while wearing it, constantly applying a beneficial load on the wrist, hand, and digits to enhance range of motion. the development of the splint involved leveraging Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) 3D printing and medically safe materials for the initial prototype. Finite Element analysis (FEA) was employed to analyze the design. the process underwent iterative design improvements and parameter adjustments, ultimately resulting in the final prototype. the FEA analysis confirmed the strength and durability of the PLA components, while the TPU digit resistance bands were evaluated using a hyper-elastic model. As a result, the final design effectively applies tension to the digits without compromising day-to-day tasks' usability and wearer's comfort. Future iterations of the splint could focus on enhancing fastening methods, reducing brace movement during usage, creating various sizes to accommodate different arm/hand dimensions, and optimizing mass-manufacturing processes. © 2023 Institute of Physics Publishing. the objective of this work is to study the performance of an industrial complex servo gripper mechanism (ICSGM) in terms of position and speed. this aim is to design and develop an ICSGM that will have the potential to reach a high number of demands in the automation and robotic industries. In the palletizing industry, the design and control of the robotic grippers are the essential part of a system. Depending on the application, different types of holders and movements may be required to pick and place the products. this servo gripper includes a combination of angular mechanism and parallel mechanism, this gripper system that allows linear and angular motions for pick and place operations is investigated for design and control purposes. the drive system of the gripper allows the controller to move the system both angularly and linearly. the performance of the ICSGM mechanism is based on comparing its position error and response time with the parallel mechanism and angular mechanism. the position efficiency of these ICSGM is calculated from the position root mean square error (PRMSE). It is the difference of errors between the two measured position signals (input signal from the incremental encoder and output signal from the linear encoder). In this paper, the Force-PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) controller is developed in PLC with Siemens SCL programming language. the Controller input is the position error and error rate. In addition, system analysis by inventor software design is included in the study. In the experimental setup, an asynchronous motor and 2048 pulse incremental encoders have been used. Finally, the positioning efficiency of these ICSGM is examined and compared under different working plan circumstances. © 2023 IEEE.

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) are widely used in various areas, but most of them lack structural health monitoring (SHM) system to evaluate the structural performance and detect potential structural failures. this work demonstrates a vibration-based SHM for UAVs through analyzing structural failures, developing vibration measurement modules and allocating them onto aerial vehicles. the flight testing was carried out and vibration analysis was implemented. Results showed that vibration data could demonstrate the potential mechanical assembly faults, and provide reference for mechanical resonance evaluation and vibration isolation system design. this preliminary experimental work inspires a further SHM research for UAVs. © 2022 IEEE.

the aim of the article was to analyse the impact of three selected types of trailing-edge flaps on the aerodynamic characteristics and performance of the Tecnam P-2008JC aircraft. the SOLIDWORKS software, together with the Flow Simulation module, was used to design the 3D model of the aircraft and to simulate the air flow. the article contains descriptions of issues related to the aerodynamics and dynamics of aircraft motion, calculations describing the procedure for designing and building a model of the tested aircraft in the SOLIDWORKS software, performing simulations using the Flow Simulation module and determining the aerodynamic characteristics of the aircraft with the flaps applied, determining the basic performance of the aircraft with extended flaps, and then comparing the determined performance with the in a configuration without flaps. © 2023 Institute of Physics Publishing. Online social media application and research databases are witnessing an exponential growth of deep cloned and deepfake information due to AI tools like ChatGPT. Online social media application and Research databases has been envisioned as knowledge sharing medium among the researchers and subscribers. Especially many plagiarism detection tools using machine learning architectures has devised to mitigate the submission of the duplicate and similar content but still leads to numerous challenges in managing cloned and optimized information by Artificial intelligence tools. In this article, a novel objective is set to design a quality assessment tool for research article and information uploaded to the social media and research databases. In order to achieve that objective, deep learning architecture entitled deep inception V5 convolution Neural Network is designed to detect and prevent propagation of the deep cloned and AI optimized content in research databases and social media. To perform the model training and testing, twitter dataset and Scopus dataset in the specified area during years from 2019 to 2024 has been extracted. Initially data preprocessing is carried out to normalize and annotate the sentences. Latent discriminant analysis approach is applied to extract the concept drift and vocabulary edited features from the pre-processed sentences. those features are represented as word embedding vector. Embedding vector is projected to the deep inception V5 Convolutional Neural Network to generate feature map through inception layers. Further fully connected layer composed of the activation function incorporating ReLu approach, Softmax function incorporating the random forest classifier is to detect the deep cloned content and loss function incorporating the cross entropy is to eliminate over fitting and underfitting issues. Ancient manuscripts have precious value in historical, cultural, social, and artistic. It is the common wealth of humanity. Suffering the long-term erosion and wears, ancient manuscripts were damaged and even completely separated into fragments scattered throughout the world. Fragment conjugation is an important part of the research and protection of ancient literature, However, the most advanced technology has not been adopted. Because we don’t yet know how to make the entire work automated, and the design and use of similarity assessment indicators, which play a crucial role in automation. In this paper, we propose a contour similarity evaluation based on improved Hausdoff distance, and a novel model which can make entire conjugation fully automated. We took Dunhuang ancient manuscripts as an example, verified on fragmented datasets and compared with expert results. the results indicate that our method can work automated, and the success rate of conjugation has been significantly improved compared to existing methods for similar tasks;In the analysis of contour similarity evaluation, our method based on improved Hausdoff distance can effectively avoid missed matching and improve the success rate of matching. © ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications engineering 2024.

In this paper we consider how ontological knowledge graphs (KGs) can be used to move towards a reasoning functionality for digital twins of structural dynamic systems. the KG is used to integrate geometric and material properties, that determine the dynamic behaviours of the structure. A three-storey, small-scale building is used as a use case to create a prototype digital twin, in the context of modal testing. the concept is based on combining geometric information from computer-aided design (CAD) models, finite element analysis (FEA), data recorded from modal tests and Bayesian uncertainty quantification. the required functionality of the digital twin is to provide integration of "heterogeneous" data sources, to create an overall knowledge model of the structural dynamics that are validated by the modal test data. the KG was built using the Neo4j interface. the CAD and FEA were carried out in the open-source software Blender and FEniCSx, respectively. the resulting digital twin can provide user information, as required, via a web-based user interface. © 2024 Proceedings of ISMA 2024 - International conference on Noise and Vibration engineering and USD 2024 - International conference on Uncertainty in Structural Dynamics. Network security is critical in the development of applications related to the rapid growth of computer networks. With the ongoing advancement and deployment of various cutting-edge technologies, there is a rising security vulnerability in networks, significantly harming the application’s services. Identifying vulnerabilities in real-time to secure the network and data is critical since the attacks could quickly take advantage of them and sever connections from other networks. To offer proper security, networks require an effective Intrusion Detection System (IDS) designed with Artificial Intelligence algorithms. It continuously monitors and alerts network users when security violations are detected dynamically. Most IDS uses advanced AI models to predict malicious activities in cyber networks. these IDS uses several administrators like Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Hybrid Intrusion Detection System (HIDS), and Network Intrusion Detection System (NIDS), which collect the data from different sources and use them to filter the typical connections from the abnormal ones. the paper’s main objective is to develop an efficient IDS using a deep learning model for analyzing and predicting the abnormalities in network traffic data. the proposed Dynamic Network Traffic Analyzer (DNTA) integrates three different deep learning models: a Deep Convex Neural Network (DCNN), an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) algorithm, and an XGBoost regressor. this IDS analyzes dynamic traffic data to predict malicious connections or traffic to the network. the proposed DNTA model is evaluated with the NSL-KDD dataset, and the results are discussed in detail and compared with similar ones. © the Author(s).

Aluminium alloys continue to be a popular choice in the automotive, naval building, and aviation industries due to their superior corrosion and wear resistance in comparison with conventional metals and alloys, as well as their favourable mechanical characteristics, low density, as well as low coefficient of thermal expansion. Furthermore, composites have attracted substantial attention due to their adaptability in a variety of technological applications, as well as their cost-effective manufacture and increased mechanical properties. Researchers used varying particle proportions in the composite mixture to develop metal matrix composites composed of aluminium. the fundamental goal of this present study is to create aluminium-based metal matrix composite materials, particularly by employing the stir casting technique and the UNSA92618 supplemented with boron nitride and graphite. the created specimens were tested for hardness, compressive along with tensile strengths, in addition to XRD, SEM, and also optical microscope analyses, to evaluate the characteristics of the metal matrix. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.
