To meet the supply voltage of some Marine equipment related performance test, the power supply is designed with wide threshold adjustable value. In DC-DC transformation, Buck circuit is a common step-down topology. the adjustable voltage power supply system is composed of Buck synchronous rectification circuit, drive circuit, power supply circuit, voltage sampling circuit, current sampling circuit, control circuit, and so on. STM32F407 of STMicroelectronics is used as the main control chip to provide PWM for the driving switch device MOS. the voltage feedback circuit is used to calibrate the output voltage to ensure the accuracy of the output voltage. © 2024 SPIE.

the prototype Industrial FEL (IFEL) now operating at Liverpool is a low current demonstrator and represents the UK's first working FEL. this compact, X-band waveguide design employs a 55 keV, 1 mA electron beam and a permanent magnet wiggler of period 1.9 cm. the concept, construction details and results obtained so far are all presented here. A pre-bunching technique allows gain to be achieved with currents between 10 muA and 1 mA in both oscillator and amplifier configurations. Below 0.25 mA the power varies with current squared. In the amplifier mode, the gain curve resembles that of an optical klystron. For future operation above 1 mA, if the device is saturated, results indicate the maximum energy removed from the beam will be approximately 8-9 keV per electron and the power should be directly proportional to the current.

the ability to measure the structural and material response to air-blast loading is vital to developing a proper understanding of near-field blast loading and response. Computational modelling has advanced significantly but, until recently, experimental techniques lagged behind. this paper discusses recent advances in these experimental techniques. the first part describes a bilateral test programme between the UK and South Africa. the high-speed imaging and digital image correlation system at Cape Town gives repeatable and accurate impulse distributions across a central strip of a panel, useful for model validation. Flexural wave behaviour was observed from the transient velocity and displacement profiles, giving good insights into the mechanics of plate response from blast loads. the second part demonstrates the value of high-speed stereo-imaging for measuring the transient response of blast loaded fibre reinforced polymer panels and sandwich structures. the peak displacements. elastic rebounds and transient oscillations provide valuable insights into the damage propagation within these types of structures. the final part of the paper describes some of the continued developments since the success of those early trials, resulting in a new optical diagnostics for blast capability at the University of Sheffield. the imaging system operates at higher frame rates and can cover a wider region of interest on the structure. Ultra-high speed imaging is also shown to be a useful tool for visualising detonations fronts in explosive charges and the expanding fireball.

With the rapid development of the aviation industry, the demand for air traffic has been growing steadily, and the trend of electric power for aircraft has also taken shape. Due to the relatively low energy density of current batteries, hybrid electric propulsion represents a more feasible option under the present technological conditions. this paper conducts research on fixed-wing vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) air-craft, adopts a series hybrid electric propulsion system(HEPS), finds the efficient working point of the engine based on the universal characteristic curve of the engine, and thus establishes the ideal operating line (IOL) of the internal combustion engine. A state-space model of the hybrid electric propulsion system has been established, and a control law based on Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) has been designed. Simulation results indicate that the proposed LQR control law enables the engine to operate along the ideal working line, thereby enhancing the fuel economy of the hybrid electric propulsion system. © 2024 SPIE.

Optimizing the flow pattern is one of the effective ways to improve the electrical performance of solid oxide fuel cells. In this paper, a novel flow pattern with six modes is proposed by setting the flow direction of fuel and air as positive and negative staggered arrangement respectively, based on cross-flow. the temperature distributions and power densities of different modes are obtained by solving the multi-physics field coupling model. the results show that the novel flow pattern effectively reduces the maximum and average temperatures of the cell, but has a slightly negative effect on the current density. the reason for this phenomenon, analyzed in conjunction with the gas concentration distribution, is the increased exchange of heat and hydrogen in the electrode region under the novel flow pattern. However, the mismatch between the oxygen and hydrogen concentration distributions in the cross-flow patterns have greater negative impact on the current density. © 2024 SPIE.

In today’s world, information is exploding. Internet readers need to judge the readability of the text by reading abstracts when searching for some information, such as blogs and technology papers, but the current text information is generally lack of abstracts. the development of NLP (Natural Language Processing) technology has a great help to fill the blanks. the purpose of this paper is to propose a text summary system, which has been tested in the corpus (including CLTS and some educational papers) and shown great results in the shorter samples. Our text summary system provides two options for the text without abstracts or with poor original abstracts, which are based on finetune-BERT and TF-IDF *** two strategies are different from processing speed and semantic fit. In addition, in order to apply to more diverse scenarios, this article makes it possible to generate a summary of the image text by incorporating the OCR (optical Character Recognition) technology. © 2023, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

To solve the problems of the new energy vehicles' electric drive system test work, in contrast with traditional test sands based on real motors, a new electric machine emulator system is established. To improve the performance, the LCL-type topology is chosen for the interface, a key component of the system. With the problems of multiple parameters and strong coupling, the design of the LCL-type interface parameter is transformed into a multi-objective, multi-disciplinary optimization problem, and a multi-disciplinary collaborative optimization architecture is established with an improved particle swarm optimization algorithm based on dual time scales to obtain the optimal parameters that consider simulation accuracy and system stability, total volume and cost. the simulation and physical platform test results show that the new electric machine emulator system can achieve accurate simulation of real motors, which can complete the test of the electric drive system for vehicles. When the optimization parameters obtained by this paper method are used, the phase current error is significantly reduced while the total inductor is also reduced, resulting in a significant increase in the simulation accuracy and a reduction in the volume and cost. this verifies the superiority of the multi-disciplinary collaborative optimization architecture and improved optimization algorithm for interface parameter design. © 2023 SPIE.

Electrochemical finishing (ECF), which is based on anodic electrochemical dissolution (ECD) process, appears to be very promising as a future finishing technique, since in many areas of applications it offers attractive advantages over traditional finishing processes such as its applicability regardless of material hardness, no cathode tool wear, smooth and bright surface, and a wide range of materials that can be finished. therefore, in this contribution, a review is presented on current research, advancement and industrial practice in ECF. this paper highlights the influence of various predominant factors of ECF, including power supply, design and advancement of cathode tool, etc. the finishing mechanism of ECF and its hybrid processes are also concerned in this paper.

In order to detect the defects of TFT LCD screens automatically, an optical system based on multi-camera imaging was established. the structure of TFT-LCD module and the causes of defects were analyzed, and different optical modules were designed to detect different types of defects. then, according to the inspection requirements, the optical analysis and design selection were carried out. Finally, the trend chart of detection curve of TFT-LCD module defect detection system in actual production line was given. the experimental results show that for TFT-LCD screens of mobile phone with 3-8 inches and HD, FHD or 2K resolution, the comprehensive misdetection rate of the proposed detection system is 0.88% and the inspection rate is 7.89%, which can meet the defect detection requirements of TFT-LCD modules on the current production line. © 2023 IEEE.

current astronomical CCDs (Charge-coupled devices) are limited in size. However, there are increasing demands for larger devices for spectroscopic and direct imaging use. A comparison of the areas of a direct Schmidt-survey plate, and the largest CCD likely to be available in the foreseeable future, serves to illustrate limitations of current electronic technology. Similarly, modern spectrographs can serve either high spectral resolution or multi-object capability, but not both. One could conceive of an updated analogue of a classical coude spectrograph, which would provide both simultaneously, were the enormous detector areas required available. It is with these two long-term applications in view that we consider the prospects for large-scale CCD mosaics. Spectroscopy in particular would benefit from mixed devices in the same mosaic e.g. blue and red- optimised, IR devices etc. We address how optimally to provide the drive waveforms with (1) minimum interconnections and complexity, (2) the ability to mix CCDs, (3) the ability to tune the individual CCD waveforms for optimum low-light level performance, and (4) to conceive an architecture which is indefinitely expansible. Our solution is to multiplex the drive waveforms to the CCDs as well as the signals from them. Minimum chip-count in the sequencing electronics is ensured by using high-density PLD technology (Programmable Logic Device), which enables a module of sixteen or more CCDs to be sequenced from one PLD plus memory. We describe a laboratory prototype, and describe how this could be developed into a system with all the drive electronics for large numbers of CCDs immediately behind the focal plane array. We also summarize our software system for efficiently generating and editing the bitmaps which define the CCD waveforms.
