the research focuses on the modelling chiller plants in air cooling systems of large buildings. the existing evaluation of prediction efficiency and identification of efficient components in chiller plants has been limited. the goal of this research is to develop a methodology for modeling chiller plants by utilizing key parameters from their components. the resulting model accurately simulates the actual chiller plant system and can be used by organizations to predict future events, aiding in preventative maintenance and reducing maintenance costs, especially in critical buildings like hospitals. the research process include compiling the chiller plant's history, simulating the machinery using a regression technique called NARX, selecting crucial parameters using an optimization technique (BPSO), and validating the model. this study enhances our understanding and management capabilities of these important cooling systems by addressing the challenges of efficient modeling and prediction accuracy in chiller plant systems.

Development, testing and maintenance of software for embedded systems is a complex task. Analysis of the traceability between different software artifacts (e.g., source code, test code and requirements) is an enabling capability for better development, testing and maintenance of softwaresystems. However, there is a general lack of tool support for automating traceability analysis for embedded systems. We demonstrate in this paper how to extend an existing unit test and test coverage framework to produce a hard-ware assisted tool framework capable of automatically deriving and visualizing traceability links between source code and test code artifacts. To demonstrate the applicability and usefulness of the framework, we report the application of the framework on realistic embedded software for vehicle gear transmission control built and deployed on the Analog Devices Blackfin (R) ADSP-5XX family of DSP processors.

this research focuses on the improvement of classification of abnormal and normal CT scan images in the context of colorectal cancer by using generated CT scan images. Limited data availability poses a challenge as classification models, particularly deep learning models, require substantial amounts of data to achieve optimal performance. To address this issue, we employ a Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) based model to generate additional data using the existing dataset. Subsequently, we retrain the classification model to assess any improvements resulting from the augmented data. Our findings indicate that StyleGAN2-ADA effectively generates synthetic CT scan images of colorectal cancer patients. Leveraging the generated images, we observe an enhancement in the classification performance. these results suggest the potential of data augmentation using GAN-based models to improve the accuracy and efficacy of classification models in the field of medical imaging analysis.

We focus on decomposition of hard-masking real-time fault-tolerant programs (where safety, timing constraints, and liveness are preserved in the presence of faults) that are designed from their fault-intolerant versions. Towards this end, motivated by the concepts of state predicate detection and state predicate correction, we identify three types of fault-tolerance components, namely, detectors, weak δ-correctors, and strong δ-correctors. We show that any hard-masking program can be decomposed into its fault-intolerant version plus a collection of detectors, and, weak and strong δ-correctors. We argue that such decomposition assists in providing assurance about dependability and time-predictability of embedded systems. Copyright 2008 ACM.

Design of Web-enabled mobile applications is a complex task as mobile-wireless systems have special emphasis on quality of service (QoS) that covers network bandwidth usage, response time, failure rates, recovery time and others. Beside network constraints, mobile applications have limitations in terms of display size, local storage capacity, processing power, cache memory and battery life time that affect mobile system design features. QoS is related to quality in use features, such as efficiency and effectiveness that characterize quality of the system while it is in use. this research studies software metrics related to the design of mobile system components and their effect on QoS and quality in use. the research classifies the metrics as related to abstraction, coupling, data complexity and file transfer properties. Application of proposed metrics on a real-case Web-enabled mobile application indicates system design criteria required to improve QoS.
