Cancer is the leading killer on a global scale. As the leading cause of cancer-related mortality, lung cancer is among the most prevalent forms of the disease. Uncontrolled cell growth in the lung tissues is the hallmark of lung cancer, a potentially fatal malignancy. this uncontrolled growth can spread to nearby tissues and other sections of the body if the disease is not treated in its early stages. Because there are few or no signs in the early stages of this disease, most cancer cases are typically detected in the later stages, making early detection particularly challenging. Survival rates can be increased via early detection and treatment of lung cancer. And early detection of lung cancer is a crucial step in this direction. Greyscale conversion, image scaling, and noise removal are all part of preprocessing once the input image has been provided. the gaussian filter is used to improve the quality of an image. Following segmentation using the watershed threshold method, features are extracted using area, perimeter, and eccentricity, and the model is trained using an enhanced GAN-mask region-based CNN. In this proposed approached a novel model the GAN-R-CNN model that combines the GAN with the CNN technique. © 2023 ieee.

the needs of industrial workforces have changed in the Industry 4.0 era. the knowledge worker in charge of information systems and internal operations was divided into different roles, and they each used different working methods and concepts. Despite this, Industry 4.0's consolidation has promoted the growth of servicing workforce with both computational complexity and equipment maintenance skills. An industrial requirements analysis is conducted in this paper to identify the key skills and competencies needed for setting up and designing an Excellence Center in the context of Industry 4.0. A diverse group of industry experts are surveyed to gather their insights on the most important areas of focus for such a center. the findings indicate that the key competencies needed for success in an Industry 4.0 setting include digital literacy, data analysis, and the ability to work with advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and the Internet of things. Based on these findings, a curriculum for the Excellence Center is proposed that prioritizes these competencies and includes hands-on training and practical experience. Overall, this paper contributes to the understanding of the requirements for Industry 4.0 and provides a roadmap for setting up and designing an Excellence Center to meet these requirements. © 2023 ieee.

this paper considers a basic wireless powered over-the-air computation (AirComp) system, which includes one separately located energy transmitter (ET) and wireless data access point (AP), and multiple low-power sensors equipped with energy harvesting (EH) circuits. the multi-antenna ET is deployed to wirelessly charge multiple low-power sensors simultaneously via energy beamforming, and the AP aims to accomplish the EH based sensors' data functional computation. Under a harvest-then-sense-and-transmit protocol, we investigate a joint wireless powered AirComp design to minimize the ET's transmit energy, subject to the sensors' EH constraints and the AirComp distortion constraints. In particular, we jointly optimize the ET's energy beamformers, the AP's aggregation beamformers, and the sensors' transmit coefficients. To address the non-convexity, we decompose the joint design problem into a series of convex subproblems of alternately optimizing the ET's energy beamforming design and the AirComp transceiver design. Furthermore, we proposed an alternating-optimization-based algorithm to obtain a low-complexity solution. Numerical results show the fast convergence performance and the effectiveness of the proposed design solution over the existing schemes. © 2023 ieee.

the growing interest in artificial intelligence (AI) as a diagnostic aid has spurred significant research into deep learning-based colorectal cancer polyp detection and localization. the motivation behind this research stems from the occasional missed diagnosis of polyps by medical experts due to fatigue or inexperience, which can lead to serious complications like colorectal cancer. In this research, we explore the effect on the accuracy of polyp detection and localization, employing variants of the state-of-the-art detection model YOLOv9. Four variants of YOLOv9 (gelan-e, gelan-c, yolov9-c, and yolov9-e) are trained on two datasets: CVC-CLinicDB and Kvasir combined as one dataset and LDPolyp Video as the second separate dataset. Results show that the YOLOv9 variants show their superiority when evaluated on five test datasets as compared to YOLOv8, the most recent YOLO series model. © 2025 ieee.

the limited availability of clean water resources in Gaza Strip is due to the increasing salinity of groundwater, which is due to unbalanced consumption. Furthermore, the increase in the poverty level among the people and the lack of fossil fuel resources, and the high intensity of solar radiation in the strip have grabbed the attention of the authors to think about a suitable alternative to produce potable water via solar energy. this study aims to investigate the linear Fresnel collector (LFC) coupled with a solar still-single effect active system. the solar still was designed to match the LFC output to avoid any heat losses that may decrease the system's effectiveness. A CFD simulation was carried out using Ansys Fluent software to predict temperature and pressure distributions to find out the efficiency of the LFC collector. the results showed that the use of LFC leads to an increase in the efficiency of the solar still, and the daily production of distilled water reaches 1.5 Litre /m2 © 2023 ieee.

Intelligent defect detection methods are important for the surface of the containment of nuclear power plants and face many challenges in the field of computer vision. Due to the irregular shapes and large variation of defects, as well as the similarity of the features between some defects and the background. Most existing deep learning-based defect detection networks suffer from insufficient feature extraction capabilities, making it difficult to detect defects from the background. Inspired by discrete representation learning methods, we propose a two-stage defect detection model called ConVQVAE, which uses a semi-supervised method for representation learning to achieve binary classification for defect detection. In addition, contrastive learning is performed in two stages to enhance the model's diversity representation ability and inter-class disentanglement representation ability. Finally, we experimentally verify that the proposed method can obtain good classification results. © 2023 ieee.

Since structural engineers are in charge of developing the structures for secure computer systems, they have the confidence to tackle larger and more complex structures subject to a variety of loading circumstances. To reduce structural engineers’ time, an effort is made to analyses and design beam-column junctions in multi-story buildings using ANSYS software. In order to make sure the building is safe, it is crucial to account for all potential loads while studying a beam-column junction of the building. the objective of the project is to describe the appropriate process for developing specifications and supporting conditions, types of loads, and load combinations, as well as designing geometry, etc. In order to determine deflection at the beam-column junction in the high-rise structure, ANSYS is used to analyses the transient loading. FRP headed bars improve seismic performance in RCC beam-column joints through corrosion resistance, ductility, energy dissipation, enhancing overall earthquake resistance and structural integrity. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

More and more electronic devices and functions are integrated into automotive embedded systems, automobile has evolved from mechanical intensive to software intensive automotive cyber-physical system, the demand for the communication bandwidth and robustness of in-vehicle network are also increasing, time-triggered protocols, such as FlexRay, have been widely applied for safety-critical function. the holistic scheduling of tasks and messages has become a key issue in ensuring functional safety. To improve the scheduling success rate, a maximum tolerance backward scheduling algorithm is proposed that combines list scheduling and a backward strategy. First, a task scheduling algorithm based on critical path priority and a function priority calculation method are designed. then, a maximum tolerance backward scheduling and resource allocation conflict avoidance algorithm is proposed to ensure the integrity and timing constraints of the functions, and the deployed function instances are moved backward to obtain the release of resources and improve the success rate of the function set. Simulation experiments show that the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in improving the scheduling success rate. © 2022 ieee.

Due to the shortcomings of the non-deformable rim structure, traditional wheeled mobile robots are difficult to apply in small, complex or rugged and dangerous environments. With the deepening of origami research in the field of engineering, the method of designing mechanisms using the deformable principle has attracted the attention of scholars. Based on the current research on mobile robots, this paper proposes a variable-diameter wheeled robot based on the structure of water bombs. According to the structural characteristics and functional requirements of the robot, the paper completes the selection of relevant hardware. In addition, this paper uses MATLAB to analyze the spatial attitude change of the wheel body driven by the motor, and after in-depth understanding of the control principle of each component, the control system suitable for the mechanical structure is built by integrating the contents of wheel drive, wheel deformation, body steering, environmental perception, and upper computer control. At the end of this paper, the experiment verifies the correctness of the control scheme and shows the application value of variable diameter robot in specific application environment. © 2023 ieee.

Real-Time human detection systems can facilitate search and rescue (SAR) operations by expediting the identification of individuals in disaster-stricken areas. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), equipped with thermal imaging, can help locate missing or injured people, especially at night or in adverse weather conditions. In this study, a preprocessing filter for increasing the detection accuracy of YOLOv8 in thermal images, has been developed. Combining Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE) with color value remapping filters, the proposed method creates a 3-channel RGB image from a grayscale thermal image. Experimental results show that the proposed filtering method is successful in decreasing both the false positive and the false negative rates. In addition, having minimal computational and memory requirements, it provides an alternative technique for future studies involving real-Time detection in edge computing devices. © 2023 ieee.
