In recent years, the research of crowd counting has aroused widespread attention in many fields such as video surveillance, public security, biomedicine, etc., and crowd counting has become one of the research hotspots in the field of computer vision. Due to factors such as the uncertain distribution of crowds, challenging scale changes, and complex scenes, most state-of-the-art methods adopt the method of constructing a density map and then use it as a learning objective to train a density estimator, however, this method generally performs poorly in the sparse crowd scene with few people. On the contrary, this paper proposes an end-to-end far-near distance network, called NF-Net. First of all, we designed a depth information module (DIM). the introduction of depth information weights into the module can distinguish far and near features well, divide the picture into four different patches, and understand the importance of each feature of each image position. Different receptive fields are assigned to groups of people with different degrees of distance. Secondly, a Near-block is proposed for patch application space for sparse crowds. After feature fusion, the output feature map enters the Near-block, and the method of deepening the network depth is used to enhance the feature extraction ability of pedestrians in sparse scenes, and a new network loss is proposed. Computational method A-Loss. Finally, we conduct extensive experiments on public datasets, demonstrating the effectiveness of NF-Net over baselines. In particular, our method currently achieves state-of-the-art performance on the ShanghaiTech dataset over previous methods. It has a great advantage in scenes where the crowd is sparser. © 2023 ieee.

the ability for books to talk would be an exciting concept, and this research discussion paves the path for an identical approach. the research objectives discussed in this paper address several burning problems, solve them and adapt them to future technological enhancements from a Sri Lankan context. Burning problems include reducing printing costs for textbooks, addressing students' health, promoting green technology, and identifying a suitable summarising approach to the native language, Sinhala resulting in students' learning ease. Other symptoms for the betterment indicate paths taken to reduce the weight of school bags carried by students, reduce paper usage by the government on printing textbooks, and spread technological awareness to teenagers regarding e-Learning. Textbooks issued by the government will be digitized and centralized into a single system that the government officials themselves can administer. the paper discusses limited hindsight literature and proposes 2 new algorithms for abstractive and extractive summarization for Sinhala text. the 2 algorithms are compared against one another in terms of performance, efficiency, precision and accuracy. Experts in the education domain have verified the derived summary of both algorithms. the deliverable artefacts are the mobile application, a RESTful auto-summarization plugin service, and new data sets extracted to train the GPT-3 models. © 2023 ieee.

In order to analyze specific occurrences, such as the COVID-19 pandemic's effects, experts from a variety of professions might work together. the majority of study, such as those on economics, health, spread projections, and similar topics, focuses on just one area of the field. therefore, several multidisciplinary teams need to collaborate in analyzing the occurring phenomena. the method employed in this research involves using Remote Sensing and Geographic Information systems (RS-GIS) to observe the impact of the pandemic phenomenon on environmental conditions, specifically surface temperature warming in Bekasi Regency, Indonesia. this is due to its impact not only on health but also on other aspects. this study converts Landsat 7 and Landsat 8 images using (RS-GIS) technologies to extract thermal sensors (Band 10 and Band 11). the test results indicate that the temperature rises annually, but that it falls during the COVID-19 pandemic. © 2023 ieee.

the major task to cope with the growing energy demand is the development of power systems through green technologies which will be one of the future requirements of the electrical industry. Since there are limited fossil fuels, the employment of renewable energy sources (RESs) has become essential. the high participation of RESs needs frequency regulation because of their inverter-based low inertia generation. Also, the transportation industry is replacing conventional vehicles with electrical vehicles (EVs), which are environmentally friendly and it is estimated that the popularization of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) that can be charged at home will increase greatly in the near future. the effective strategy to improve power systems and overcome the inertia issue of RESs is to use the reserved energy in the batteries of vehicles connected to the grid (V2G) in EV charging stations. Vehicles connected to the grid must be charged during off-peak load times, and interject energy into the grid at peak load times to provide inertia to the system and stabilize the frequency. Grid-connected vehicles also increase reliability and can take part in demand response. this paper investigates the consequence of electric vehicle charging stations on power losses and voltage profiles in the ieee standard 33-bus distribution network which is observed as the case study. the collaborative planning results using a genetic algorithm (GA) in MATLAB are compared in two modes with and without the integration of EVs to emphasize the effective performance of optimal EV station integration on the voltage profile and power losses. © 2023 ieee.

the Houma Alliance Book contains official characters from the Jin State (approximately 550 BC) and is also the earliest discovered calligraphy using writing brushes in the archaeological community. As an ancient handwriting system, HAB stores a wealth of information that helps us understand the world, the history of the Jin State in the Spring and Autumn Period, the evolution of calligraphy, and more. However, HAB was only discovered approximately sixty years ago, and there is little research on it. Due to environmental corrosion, the HAB has become less legible, making the technology for automatic detection and recognition of characters an important solution. this paper aims to make an Houma Alliance Book facsimiles database namely FADB, and to carry out detection and recognition. the database contains 655 facsimiles with 327 classes of Chinese characters. More specifically, it has the individual characters from the 655 facsimiles. then, this paper uses a deep learning network to recognize these samples. Experiments are performed on the new database. the experimental results provide new baseline results of detection and recognition for this new database and demonstrate the feasibility of our dataset. © 2023 ieee.

the geological data catalog is a summarized archive of the historical records of geological exploration, which records the knowledge and structure of all geological data and the number of geological data entities, and can provide an index for quickly locating relevant geological and mineral knowledge. In this paper, we analyzed the relevant mineral exploration activities in the geological data catalog, by using the global autocorrelation Moran's I statistic and General G statistic to reveal the spatial aggregation of mineral exploration sites;and studied the correlation between the spatial and temporal distribution patterns of mineral exploration activities and the development of resource-based cities. the result showed that the exploration time of mineral exploration areas (points) for coal, gold, and iron indicated clustering characteristics around recent exploration points, which correspond to resource growing and regenerating cities or regions, suggesting the possibility of emerging resources. the exploration time of the copper mineral exploration area (point) shows the clustering of old exploration points, and the center of the clustering area corresponds to resource-mature cities or regions, suggesting the possibility of resource exhaustion. this study is an extension of the application of the geological data catalog, and the mineral exploration time evolution pattern derived from the analysis can provide a reference for mineral exploration planning and spatial planning, etc. © 2023 ieee.

In the modern day, several different innovations have been created with the sole purpose of improving existing models, products, and systems. One such innovation would be the improvement of brain-computer interfaces (BCI). BCIs tend to require high processing capabilities for the accurate gathering, processing, and classification of different biosignals such as the electroencephalography (EEG) signals. As such, cloud computing and TinyML methods are suggested as a means to solve this issue. In this study, the two methods are compared by simulating two cases, one for cloud computing and another for TinyML implementations. the latencies in which these two implementations can provide a classification for a data point is used as the main metric for comparison. It was observed that TinyML implementations had significantly lower latencies at an average of 0.0009 s, while cloud computing implementation had significantly higher latencies at an average of 1.5459 s. this difference can be attributed to the fact that cloud computing systems are reliant on connectivity between the local machine and the cloud computing services while TinyML implementations do not have the same restrictions and are instead capable of providing a classification as soon as it receives a data point. © 2023 ieee.

this paper presents an in-depth investigation into the verification of a software design model, focusing on the context of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. Verification plays a critical role in ensuring the correctness and reliability of such systems, making it a topic of paramount importance. In this study, we undertake the task of remodeling the EMR requirements using a finite transition system to facilitate rigorous analysis and verification. Additionally, we express the formal specification through Linear Temporal Logic (LTL), leveraging its expressive power and ability to capture temporal properties accurately. To assess the validity of the design model, we employ the widely recognized SPIN model checker, a tool known for its effectiveness in detecting errors and inconsistencies in software systems. Our analysis reveals several critical findings. Specifically, the model checker successfully identifies paths within the design model that fail to satisfy the specified LTL formula, shedding light on potential areas of concern. Moreover, the generation of a comprehensive counterexample provides valuable insights for further analysis and improvement of the software design. Overall, this research highlights the significance of verification techniques in software design and emphasizes the applicability of the finite transition system and LTL in this context. the findings underscore the importance of thorough verification and the potential benefits of employing tools like SPIN to enhance the reliability and robustness of EMR systems. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

the energy conservation law (ECL) is one of the most fundamental physical laws in the nature. the ECL has some different manifestation forms. the various manifestation forms can be mathematically expressed in terms of the corresponding energy theorems. the various energy theorems govern the energy utilization mechanisms of the corresponding physical phenomena. this paper simply reviews some important electromagnetic energy theorems, such as the entire-structure-oriented work-energy theorem (ES-WET), the partial-structure-oriented work-energy theorem (PS-WET), the energy transport theorem (ETT), the Poynting theorem, the Rayleigh-Carson reciprocity theorem (RT), the Rumsey RT, the Lorentz RT, and the Parseval theorem. the ES-WET governs the energy-scattering phenomenon;the PS-WET governs the lumped-port-driven energy-transmitting phenomenon;the ETT governs the wave-port-fed energy-transmitting phenomenon;the Poynting theorem governs the energy-absorbing phenomenon;the RTs govern the energy-coupling phenomenon;the Parseval theorem guarantees the energy invariance in the time domain, frequency domain, and spectrum domain. this paper simply summarizes some valuable energy-viewpoint-based modal analysis theories, such as the ES-WET-based characteristic mode theory (CMT) for energy-scattering phenomenon, the PS-WET-based CMT for lumped-port-driven energy-transmitting phenomenon, the ETT-based decoupling mode theory (DMT) for wave-port-fed energy-transmitting phenomenon, and the Poynting-theorem-based DMT for energy-absorbing phenomenon. © 2023 ieee.

For the antenna array fed by single wave port, the energy transport theorem (ETT)-based modal analysis method can effectively calculate its energy-decoupled modes (DMs) by diagonalizing the input power operator (IPO). Besides the single-port-fed antenna array, the ETT framework and the diagonalizing IPO method are also applicable to the antenna array fed by multiple wave ports. However, before applying the diagonalizing IPO method to the multiple-ports-fed antenna array, the dependence relationship among the port currents must be integrated into the IPO, or the diagonalizing IPO method cannot give accurate results. Previously, a waveguide-array integrative modal analysis method was proposed to integrate the port-currents-dependence relationship into the IPO. However, the waveguide-array integrative analysis has a relatively large computational burden, and has no ability to obtain the inherent DMs of the antenna array itself. To overcome the abovementioned difficulties, this paper proposes a novel method to integrate the port-currents-dependence relationship into the IPO, when the ports have the same geometrical shape and size, and the only difference among the port currents is their amplitudes and phases. the fundamental ideas of the novel method are that: 1) to expand the port currents in terms of the same basis functions;2) to relate the port currents with each other by multiplying some proper amplitude and phase factors to the basis function expansion coefficients. thus, this paper calls the novel method amplitude-phase factor method to be distinguished from the previously proposed waveguide-array integrative analysis method. © 2023 ieee.
