Cancer is a major global health issue, and colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death. It can develop from high-risk polyps, so accurate segmentation of polyps is essential for the diagnosis and treatment of this disease. However, in clinical practice, the examination of polyps remains challenging because their texture and color are similar to the surrounding tissues with low contrast, causing a large number of missed cases. In this paper, we proposed an automatic polyp segmentation method termed as SLSNet, in which Swin-Unet was treated as the backbone network and further improved by embedding the local context attention (LCA) module, channel transformation (CT) module and Squeeze-and-Excitation (SE) block. Specifically, in order to fully utilize the local context information of the polyp in the segmentation network and incorporate hard sample mining, the LCA module was introduced into the encoder to enhance the attention for uncertain and complex regions. At the same time, the CT module was utilized to extract more features from the decoder and send it to the LCA module to enhance the fine segmentation ability of the model. the SE block was introduced into the decoder to adaptively recalibrate channel-wise feature responses. To assess the performance of the presented SLSNet, experiments were conducted on Kvasir-SEG and CVC-ClinicDB public data sets. Extensive experimental results show that the presented SLSNet could better extract polyp features, and achieved superior performance for the automatic polyp segmentation compared with the existing methods. © 2023 ieee.

Proton exchange membrane fuel cells are gaining momentum in the automotive sector due to their favorable characteristics such as quick refueling times, silent operation, high efficiency, and clean energy production with only byproducts being heat and water. In this study, numerical models are developed using state-of-the-art Computational Fluid Dynamics modeling software for full-scale single PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) fuel cells with different flow fields. Commonly, for small-scale fuel cells, such as 25 cm2, single serpentine is used for operation. the objective of this work was to see if the performance can be enhanced by increasing the number of channels, while it was also important to keep the dimensions of the channels feasible for manufacturing using CNC (computer Numerical Control) milling and the available drill bit sizes. the number of channels was increased from one to three and the relative humidity of the reactants was set to partially and fully humidified. the results of the simulations indicate a considerable difference in the performance of the cells on elevated current densities, especially for the cases with lower relative humidity. the results of this study outline the requirement for the development of a standardized flow field for testing small active area single cells in the future. © 2023 University of Split, FESB.

Machine learning (ML), a kind of artificial intelligence, may help software systems become better at anticipating outcomes without explicitly designing them (AI). Machine learning systems use historical data to predict future values. Optimization strategies are a must-have toolkit for effectively managing an organization's resources and maximizing shareholder returns. this study's focus was on finding the best ways for developing machine learning systems. Researchers are using optimization methodologies to improve machine learning performance. Using optimization approaches in research is being explored with the purpose of boosting output. In order to help investors make better judgments, the collection of crypto currencies is currently being used. the optimization will assist in narrowing down the crypto currency dataset. Integrating an optimization method to boost a machine learning system's performance is what the proposed study aims to do. © 2022 ieee.

Sources like solar, wind, and biomass are more often used for the generation of electricity as renewable items because they are within our easy reach and there is no greenhouse gas emission. It is gaining popularity day by day together with its climate-friendly characteristic. the present paper aims at the aspects of design of such a grid connected basically photovoltaic system. A 10 KWp photovoltaic array is considered an essential necessary for general under consideration of usual condition of temperature. It will be considered and simulated the same in PVSYST software environments. this paper, however, throws a flood of light on different aspects that develop Sankey diagram of loss caused by power output of energy of photovoltaic plant installed and at the sometimes takes note on the performance of a particular photovoltaic module. It fixes the angles tilt and also the distribution-related curves taking into their consideration their temperature through simulation of related software curves. © 2023, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

this paper presents a microstrip antenna with dual-band operating frequencies by etching multiple slots on the radiating patch of the antenna. In wireless communication systems, microstrip antenna operating at multiple frequencies are in demand and has a significant influence for ISM (Industrial Scientific Medical) applications. the proposed antenna is specifically designed to operate at both 2.4 and 5.8 GHz ISM frequency band. the dual-band antenna was designed and simulated using CST-MWS software with a patch dimension of 39.4 mm × 39.5 mm × 1.575 mm, and mounted on a RT/duroid 5880 substrate with a dielectric constant Εr = 2.2, loss tangent of δ = 0.0009 and thickness of 1.575 mm. Based on the results, the antenna exhibit an S11 of - 29.23 dB and VSWR of 1.07 at 2.4 GHz, and S11 of -18.55 dB and VSWR of 1.26 at 5.8 GHz. the good consistency between S11 predicted and measured results confirm the antenna's ability to be implemented for ISM band applications such as Wi-Fi, WLAN and wireless sensor network. © 2024 ieee.

As the reliance on virtual simulation scenarios for autonomous driving testing and validation increases, traditional expert-driven scene enumeration generation methods can no longer meet the testing requirements. Digital virtual simulation scene generation methods offer significant technological advantages in terms of scene diversity, risk assessment, interpretability, and generation efficiency. they have become a key factor in enhancing the safety and reliability of testing and validation for autonomous driving technology. Consequently, they have become a prominent research focus in the field of automotive intelligence. this article delves into the crucial issue of scene generation in autonomous driving simulation. With the continuous advancement of autonomous driving technology, simulation has become a vital tool for testing, validating, and optimizing autonomous driving systems. the article notably introduces a knowledge-driven approach to personalized scene generation. It uses a hierarchical model to describe the relationships between different levels of scenes and analyzes the structure of OpenSCENARIO format files along with parameterization methods. this results in an automated script capable of generating specific scene files in bulk, tailored to testing requirements, thereby significantly enhancing the safety and efficiency of autonomous driving system development. However, the article also acknowledges that current research is in its early stages and can only generate simple scenes, potentially falling short of meeting the testing requirements for higher-level autonomous driving safety assessments. Future work will concentrate on developing knowledge-driven methods for generating critical scenes, aiming to improve the equivalence and rationality of specific scenes to address more advanced testing needs. this ongoing development holds significant promise for enhancing the safety and reliability of autonomous driving technology. © 2023 ieee.

Narrowband Internet of things (NB-IoT) is a promising radio access technology to support massive machine-type communications (mMTC) in 5G and beyond wireless networks. To address the issue of connection density maximization in a non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) based NB-IoT network, in this paper, we investigate a deep reinforcement learning (DRL) approach. Firstly, we formulate the radio resource allocation problem of NB-IoT devices with various tone modes as a complex combinatorial optimization problem, aiming to maximize the connection density. then we propose a DRL based NB-IoT resource allocation mechanism, which includes three different policy-based DRL algorithms, namely proximal policy optimization (PPO), asynchronous advantage actor critic (A3C), and multi-agent PPO to deal with stochastic packets arrivals and solve the optimization problem. Besides, considering the frequently fluctuating wireless network with large invalid action spaces, we also propose an action mask mechanism to accelerate training. the simulation results demonstrate that PPO outperforms A3C and MAPPO among our proposed DRL algorithms, and any of the three DRL algorithms outperforms the benchmark schemes. © 2023 ieee.

As the level of circuit integration increases, the physical design becomes more and more complex, iterative static timing analysis(STA) is one of the most time-consuming task to achieve timing closure. After the route stage, fast and accurate timing analysis prediction can effectively reduce the number of static timing analysis in iterations, thereby improving design efficiency and reducing design cycle. In order to quickly predict the timing results after route, we propose a fast timing analysis predictor based on gate recurrent unit (GRU) neural network. this method extracts the features of combinations of cells and nets, assigns attention weights to different combinations, then predicts the hold slacks and setup slacks of each path in multi-corners. the experimental results in the sub-30nm show that the standard deviation of the prediction error ranges 5.41∼16.44ps, and the mean absolute error ranges 6.87∼18.55ps, and the prediction correlation is more than 0.96. Moreover, the speed of timing path prediction is more than 197 times faster than the analysis by STA tools, so that it can effectively and accurately accelerate the process of timing analysis and improve the efficiency of physical design. © 2023 ieee.

Human breathing detection plays a vital role in healthcare, safety, and various other applications. this research paper explores the use of radio-frequency (RF) sensing technologies, specifically radar and Wi-Fi, for detecting human breathing patterns. Abnormal breathing patterns can indicate respiratory or cardiovascular diseases, and early detection is crucial for timely diagnosis and treatment. Radar-based systems utilize low-power RF pulses to capture subtle chest movements associated with breathing, while software-defined radio (SDR)-based systems analyze Wi-Fi signals to detect variations caused by human chest motion. Deep learning algorithms, namely residual neural network (ResNet) and deep multilayer perceptron (DMLP), are employed to classify breathing patterns based on the collected data. ResNet attained classification accuracy up to 90% on radar-based spectrogram images data, while DMLP attained classification accuracy up to 99% on SDR-based channel state information data. the proposed approaches offer non-intrusive, remote-operable, and cost-effective solutions for breathing detection. the research demonstrates the potential of RF sensing technologies in healthcare, eldercare, sleep monitoring, and emergency response systems, paving the way for enhanced well-being and safety. © 2023 ieee.

this paper proposes an improved over the air modulation (OTAM) scheme by using the powerful reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs), namely over-the-RIS modulation (ORM). In the design framework, we reconstruct multipath channels by employing several RISs to increase the attenuation difference between multiple paths. Compared with conventional OTAM, ORM can be used in more generic fading scenarios, e.g., channels with non-ideal attenuation properties, and thus extends the application of OTAM. Based on the Bayesian criterion, we propose an optimal likelihood detector for the ORM system and derive a closed-form expression of the bit error rate (BER). Furthermore, we investigate the phase optimization of the RISs to improve its BER and deduce its closed-form solutions. Simulation results are presented to show that the proposed ORM system can achieve a better BER performance and higher transmission rate than the conventional OTAM systems, especially for environments with severe shadow fading. © 2023 ieee.
