Deep learning structures have been adopted in many application domains. However, these architectures are vulnerable to adversarial attacks which are often instantiated by adversarial examples: carefully crafted inputs by adding disturbances that are imperceptible to humans can easily mislead a learned classifier to make incorrect predictions. Since deep learning is fast achieving the maturity to enter into safety- critical and security-sensitive applications, such attacks may have catastrophic security and safety consequences. In this paper, we propose a new software-based approach to enhance the robustness of deep learning models to adversarial attacks which we call the Defensive Approximate Activation Function (DA 2F). Specifically, we mainly consider deep learning architectures using the sigmoid function or tanh function, two complex non-linear involving exponential operation functions, as activation functions. We propose the piecewise linear approximation method where a new non-uniform segmentation scheme is presented. By replacing the exact activation function used in the deep learning architectures with the approximate activation function, which reduces computation cost theoretically and improves deep learning models' robustness to adversarial samples. the experiments validated that our approach was effective in defending against adversarial attacks. For LeNet-5 CNN architecture along with MNIST datasets, the approximate classifiers were more robust against adversarial attacks than the exact classifiers, with negligible loss in accuracy. © 2022 ieee.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is an increasingly relevant concept for companies as it improves competitiveness and market perception. Incorporating CSR elements in commercial operations requires considering various aspects, such as employee and customer satisfaction, product quality, and analysis of the environmental impacts generated. In line with this, companies have shown a growing interest in CSR concepts and the application of tools to determine its level of integration in business activities. this paper aims to present a web application to assess the level of integration of CSR elements in Ecuadorian MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises). the development of the proposed software required the analysis of CSR concepts, norms, and standards to establish a basic framework adapted to the context of Ecuadorian companies. the web application and the evaluation method based on an adapted CSR framework are presented as results of this work. the developed application, tested with personnel from local textile MSMEs, automates the evaluation process and can be considered as a first component for a comprehensive evaluation platform. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

there exists a global challenge related to the boosting number of elderly suffering from chronic diseases like Dementia (EWD). Hence, there is a drastic need for cost-effective disruptive technologies that enable and guarantee the quality of life for EWD via implementing telehealth. the purpose of this paper is to propose a telehealth system based on the Internet of things for the well-being of the elderly suffering from Dementia in a smart home setting. We propose a smart home solution as a whole and a solution based on an NFC-based working prototype of a pill intake in a box for monitoring and recording the proper intake of prescribed medication for the elderly suffering from chronic diseases. A smart home solution was effectively implemented using the Cisco Packet Tracer simulator 7.3. the proposed IoT-based solution ensures the safe wandering of the elderly in a smart home setting using a Cisco packet tracer simulation tool. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

Wireless Body Area Networks (WBAN), a sub type of Wireless Sensor Networks is mainly used in the health care sector for applications like remote patient monitoring, entertainment, gaming and sports fitness etc. It is a collection of short distances wireless sensor nodes with little processing capabilities. the tiny sensor component connects with the central coordinator for data aggregation or calculation while keeping track of health indicators like body temperature, ECG, Pulse rate, EMG, MEMS pressure sensor, etc. through the internet or cloud service providers, the stored data is transmitted to distant monitoring equipment. Energy usage, secure network connection, and the potential for assaults carried out by hostile nodes that cause issues for the network are the biggest challenges for this technology. the proposed Network Reliability based Secure Routing Algorithm (NRSRA) first determines the secure path based on the distance, hops, and travel time between sources and destinations then it checks the data which sent by the sensor nodes. the authentication algorithm used in the second phase to provide authentication for the nodes. By applying these two proposed algorithms for communication, it is proved through experiments that the proposed secure routing algorithm and the outlier's detection algorithm are able to perform security and provides reliability in the network. Moreover, these two algorithms provide improved quality of service with respect to the Network Assumption, Trust Computation, Data Trust and Data Aging i.e. unlike a security method. this proposed work has been implemented in NS3 Simulator. © 2023 ieee.

Modern technology has created the need for information flow to be fast and effective. we have been able to reach this through the internet;the medium, that is, the internet has expedited every folks, by creating the communication cheap and quick. One such innovative technology is blockchain. Having the properties such as immutability, integrity and decentralized architecture, one of the prospective application of blockchain is e-voting. the objective of e-voting system using blockchain is to facilitate transparent, fair and verifiable approach. But the existing e-voting systems using blockchain take more time to reflect the vote casted by the voters as the number of voters increases and make the system slow. In this paper we propose a system which uses a consensus algorithm called PoA to minimize the time for authentication, mining and verification of casted votes. the Proposed system which replaces the PoW consensus algorithm, in existing system, with PoA consensus algorithm, proved to be faster than existing system by more than 9 seconds. thus this paper highlights how the existing e-voting system using blockchain is slow and how the proposed system optimizes the time required and makes the system faster. © 2023 ieee.

Many details of cyber attacks occurred to Industrial Control systems (ICS) such as power grids remain as a secret. To reveal those secrets and benefit a broad research community, we propose an original cyber-physical honeypot architecture that can seamlessly couple IT and OT components in an power grid. Specifically, we will provide high interaction with adversaries as physical processes of an ICS move forward, revealing attack strategies according to adversaries' knowledge on physical trajectories of the target system. Our preliminary evaluations demonstrate that the proposed CPS honeypot can present realistic device fingerprints and application-layer payload that piggybacks meaningful measurements conforming to the physical model of a power grid. In addition, by leveraging runtime high-fidelity OPAL-RT simulator, our CPS honeypot causes small latency, at least one order of magnitude smaller compared to the existing work. © 2023 ieee.

Localization is of paramount importance for underwater wireless sensor networks (UWSNs). However, achieving accurate location is infeasible, especially in the highly dynamic underwater environment. the acoustic signal may suffer hybrid loss, including path and absorption loss, which dramatically degrades the localization accuracy. Even though some localization methods have been proposed, the trade-off between accuracy and computational complexity cannot be well balanced. In this context, the paper proposes a computationally efficient method that investigates the localization problem in the alternating nonnegative constrained least squares (ANCLS) framework after linearization operation. the potential solutions are divided into two groups, wherein the optimal one is filtered under the constraint by exchanging the variables from one to another. A block principal pivoting-based localization (BPPL) method is then presented to estimate the target's location. Simulations reveal that the computational complexity and the localization accuracy of BPPL are competitive compared with the state-of-the-art methods in different scenarios. © 2023 ieee.

A blockchain is a decentralized database system in which a ledger containing transactions is stored and maintained identically by all through consensus among network participants without a central server. Instead of having a central server, network participants make sure that everyone stores and maintains the same ledger containing transactions through consensus. Integrity and reliability of the data stored in the blockchain are guaranteed, but on the other hand, privacy issues may arise. the pseudonymity of the public key reused in transactions causes a privacy invasion of the user's behavioral pattern, asset size, and offline identity. therefore, instead of assigning unique public keys to everyone, they are provided through a single signature in a blockchain environment. It can also be described as a method for ensuring anonymity by having members of the same group use the same public key in a transaction while employing the group signature, which has been studied in this paper. this paper defines the key used for group signature is defined as a composition of a 'group private key' and a 'partial key'. Mainly among them, we consider the leakage of the partial key. In the proposed scheme, it is possible to trace the leaker and the signer from the signature generated by the outsider with the leaked partial key. In this paper, we provide a secure traceable group signature scheme to cope with the leakage of the group signing key. © 2023 ieee.

For most higher-level face evaluation applications, including liveliness, human activity identification, and personal contact, facial organization is a significant task. the real-world usefulness of such models is constrained since the utilization of present approaches can significantly deteriorate when handling images under particularly uncontrolled circumstances. this is true even though the best-in-class accuracy has significantly improved thanks to new access to large datasets and potent deep learning algorithms. In this study, a composite recurrent tracker that can simultaneously find single image facial arrangement and deformable facial following in nature, has been suggested. the multi-facet LSTMs are combined to illustrate real-world scenarios with varied length, and an internal denoiser that focuses on enhancing the information images to increase the resiliency of the general model, is offered. Face positioning is important in the majority of face examination frameworks. It emphasizes locating a few prominent features of human faces in images or recordings. the planning strategies and implementations described in this research, are based on information expansion and programming enhancement techniques, and they allow for working on a wide range of models with a place for specific continuous computations for face arrangement. A sophisticated set of evaluation metrics that enables new assessments to lessen the frequent issues seen in actual opportunity-following contexts, is proposed. the exploratory results show that the models created utilizing the approaches are more accurate, faster and more robust in defined testing environments, and more flexible in global positioning frameworks is the proposed challenge. © 2023 ieee.

this document presents a machine learning-based approach for predicting the insurance amount for a car damage claim based on the level of damage caused by an accident. the proposed model uses a dataset of past car damage claims, including the level of damage and the corresponding insurance amount paid out. the dataset is subjected to the application of a number of machine learning algorithms, such as decision trees, random forests, and neural networks. the effectiveness of these algorithms is assessed using a variety of measures, including accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score. the results show that the model achieves high accuracy and F1-score, indicating its effectiveness in predicting the insurance amount based on the level of damage. this proposed approach has the potential to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the insurance claims process, ultimately benefiting both insurance companies and their clients. Insurance companies use a variety of factors to determine the amount of compensation paid out to a customer for a car damage claim. One of the most important factors is the level of damage caused by the accident. However, accurately assessing the level of damage can be a difficult undertaking, as it requires a high level of expertise and experience. To address this challenge, machine learning techniques can be used to build models that can predict the insurance amount based on the level of damage. In order to do this, a model must be trained using past data to identify trends and connections between the severity of the harm and the associated insurance payouts. Overall, insurance amount prediction based on accidental car damage level using AI is a promising area of research and has the potential to benefit both insurance companies and their clients. © 2023 ieee.
