Easily accessible Internet and the need for communication led to the widespread use of social media platforms, e.g., TikTok. Social media platforms offer opportunities for social interaction and enter-Tainment but also introduce risks such as fake news, fraud, and cyberbullying. the latter severely threatens the victim's mental health and overall well-being. this research collects, annotates, and analyzes 1,508 TikTok comments concerning cyberbullying behavior. then, the comments were used to build a Deep Learning BERT (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers) architecture prediction model. this experiment will use pretrained model BERT and fine-Tuning BERT. After fine-Tuning, the prediction model achieves 0.63 validation accuracy. this research high-lights the importance of building a prediction model to detect cyberbullying and contribute to a better understanding and prevention of this behavior on social media platforms. © 2023 IEEE.

this paper presents a collaborative hackathon initiative between the Software engineering (SE) and Visual Communication (VC) departments at an academic engineering college. the hackathon brought together students from "Software Project Management" and "User Experience and Cognition" courses, working in agile development teams to bridge the gap between technical and design focuses. By fostering active learning and simulating real-world digital system development, the hackathon allowed SE students to apply their technical expertise while learning design thinking and usability principles. VC students gained experience translating technical requirements into visually compelling designs. this collaboration facilitated a deeper understanding of user-centered design and the software agile development process, promoting critical thinking and creativity aligned with Bloom's highest learning levels: analyzing, evaluating, and creating. Student feedback reflected a mix of positive insights and constructive criticism, emphasizing the value of interdisciplinary collaboration in enhancing user experience while identifying areas for improvement, such as feedback clarity and the need for better time management during the hackathon. the study's approach mirrors key aspects of professional environments, preparing students to tackle the real-world challenges they will encounter after graduation.

In this paper, we propose an observer-based mixed finite and fixed-time distributed multi-leader platoon control strategy for connected vehicles. the vehicles under consideration are partitioned into different groups (parties or platoons). the aim of the control strategy is to force the vehicles within the same group to synchronize while tracking their respective leaders’ (head of the platoon vehicle’s) trajectories. the communication topology, based on matrices, enables the interaction of platoons from different groups, facilitating their convergence to a common point while maintaining a fixed separation between vehicles. In this paper, we propose a matrix-based approach to depict the information exchange among platoon vehicles from different groups, making it suitable for various road maneuvers like merging and diverging. the approach introduces a sliding surface and establishes a robust control mechanism to guarantee global approximate fixed-time convergence. the paper provides evidence that tracking errors converge globally to a negligible set centered around zero within a finite time, followed by an fixed time reduction to zero. Numerical simulation demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed approach. ©2024 IEEE.

Intelligent reflective surfaces (IRS), as an emerging channel tuning technique, have been widely used in visible light communication(VLC) systems. We look at how to adjust the correspondence between the IRS and the transceiver so that the communication system maximizes the secrecy rate while satisfying the basic communication rate as well as the energy harvesting requirements. To address this assignment problem, a gain particle swarm optimization (GPSO) algorithm that leverages channel gain was proposed, which improves the particle velocity and position updating formula by introducing amplified gain. the experimental results indicate that improved GPSO algorithm compared to the PSO algorithm improves the rate by 8Mbit/s under the constraints and the energy harvesting by 5mJ, at the same time, we can see that the GPSO algorithm also has a performance advantage over the SCA and DE algorithms, these results show that GPSO algorithm can be well applied to this kind of allocation problem. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper, we propose a novel model of fiber coupling efficiency based on the second-order moment interaction of optical field in the oblique atmospheric channel laser communication system, where the turbulence of the partially coherent Gaussian beam propagation can vary in intensity from weak to strong. Based on this model, we analyze the impacts of channel characteristics, reception aperture, and other key system parameters on the fiber coupling efficiency of our considered systems. the numerical results validate the correctness of our model and analysis. Moreover, we show how fiber coupling efficiency can be improved by judiciously selecting the wavelength, coupling lens aperture, focal length, beam size, and the coherence. the results presented in this paper provide pivotal insights into designing practical transmission schemes in optical communication systems. © 2023 IEEE.

the identification of protein-protein interaction(PPI) sites is critical for drug discovery and analysis of protein function. So far, numerous computational methods based on artificial intelligence have been developed to accelerate the identification of PPI sites. However, those methods learned only sequential features or local structural features, leading to low predictive performance. therefore, it is urgently necessary to develop a new method to improve the performance of predicting PPI sites. Herein, a new structure-based method for predicting the protein-protein interaction sites through combing the local and global encoder, SLGPPIS, was therefore proposed. Specifically, SLGPPIS utilizes the local and global encoder to extract the residue feature respectively and concatenating them to predict the PPI sites. Compared with other existing methods, SLGPPIS exhibited superior performance on prediction of PPI sites. Moreover, a visual interpretative experiment was conducted to systematically investigate the prediction process of SLGPPIS. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

human pose estimation is the basis of human action recognition, and it is the guarantee to realize human-computer interaction. Occlusion, interference, complex background and different human scales have great influence on single-human pose estimation. To obtain more semantic information and reduce the impact of different human scales, an improved SNHRNet deep learning network is proposed to achieve more accurate single-human pose estimation. the improved SNHRNet network is established based on the HRNet network. the optimized NHRNet network is obtained by cutting the low-resolution high-level features of the HRNet. Compared with HRNet, the parameters of the NHRNet network are reduced, but the attention mechanism is missing. On this basis, the SE module is integrated into the Basic residual module to make up for the lack of attention mechanism in NHRNet network, and the SNHRNet network model comes into being. Finally, the public dataset is used for single-human pose estimation experiment. the results of relevant experiment show that the proposed SNHRNet network is effective for single-human pose estimation. © 2022 IEEE.

A disabled person's life is always dependent on someone else who needs aid with mobility or any other task. Individuals with disabilities may face challenges when using computers. the most common way of interacting with computers is using a mouse and keyboard. It is difficult for people with physical disabilities to use them. Facial movements are one of the best possible actions by physically disabled individuals, By recognizing and responding to these movements, it is possible for them to operate the computer using only their facial expressions. Face recognition is a contemporary approach to interaction between humans and computers (HCI) i.e., the proposed system can easily control the computers by using face gesture recognition. It can be a viable replacement for traditional HCI tools in the future. this research outlines the techniques utilized in the design, implementation, and evaluation of the experiments conducted and presents the results obtained. © 2023 IEEE.

In the recruitment process, continued screening assumes a fundamental part in distinguishing qualified contenders for a specific employment opportunity. A huge issue that scouts face is the tedious course of manual screening of resumes. To resolve this issue, this paper proposes the utilization of three ML calculations, in particular K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), Weighted K-Nearest Neighbors (WKNN), and Support Vector Machine KNN (SVM KNN), for the mechanized screening of resumes. the dataset was manually created consisting of two segments that incorporate various classes like CA, advocate, engineering, and so forth, and the related resume portrayals. the dataset was utilized to prepare and assess the precision of the calculations. the trial concentrates on showing that Weighted KNN outperforms KNN and SVM KNN with an accuracy of 74%. the strategy can empower selection representatives to smooth out their enrollment interaction and distinguish qualified applicants rapidly and cost-effectively. © 2023 IEEE.

As one of the simplest and most natural ways of human-computer interaction, gestures can effectively convey information through silent hand movements and facilitate our production and life in combination with intelligent devices. Accurate and effective gesture recognition technology is an effective way to improve the efficient work of intelligent human-computer interaction devices in complex environments. However, due to the influence of complex surroundings and image noise, accurate prediction of dynamic gestures still faces certain challenges. Recently, benefiting from the end-to-end feature extraction capabilities of convolutional neural networks (CNN), deep learning has achieved good results in different dynamic gesture recognition tasks. However, it still has certain shortcomings in learning spatio-temporal semantic features to identify effective regional features. In order to accurately recognize continuous dynamic gestures in video, a dynamic gesture recognition network based on spatio-temporal attention mechanism is proposed to realize end-to-end dynamic gesture recognition. Aimed at the problem of information loss in the process of spatial and temporal feature extraction of video frames, a 3D residual convolution neural network is used to simultaneously model the temporal relationship and spatial information between frames. In order to obtain discriminative feature information, a spatio-temporal attention module (STA) is proposed to improve the ability of the network to extract temporal and spatial features. A large number of experiments on two public datasets show that the proposed dynamic gesture recognition network based on spatio-temporal attention can obtain the best recognition performance compared with other state-of-the-art gesture recognition models, and further prove that the network is lightweight, feasible and practical method. © 2023 IEEE.
