Robotic grasping plays a crucial role in manipulation tasks. However, due to the complexity of human-robot interaction, service robots still face significant challenges in handling task-oriented operations in real-world environments. To address this issue and better meet practical interaction needs, we propose a multimodal combination framework for robotic grasping. It leverages language texts to facilitate communication and detects and grasps target objects based on point clouds and feedback. the framework comprises several multimodal components, including ChatGPT, stereo cameras, and wearable devices, to complete instruction processing, grasp detection, and motion execution. To enable effective interaction, ChatGPT facilitates basic communication and responds to instructions between humans and robots. Additionally, the robot can detect the 6-DoF grasp of objects based on point clouds obtained by stereo cameras. these grasps are combined with the feedback provided by ChatGPT to further meet the requirement from human. Finally, we utilize wearable devices to teach robots generalized motor skills. this enables the robot to learn corresponding movements and perform them effectively in various scenarios, further improving its manipulation abilities. the experimental results from simulated conversations and real-scene tasks highlight that our proposed framework provides logical communication, stable grasping, and effective motion. © 2023, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Now a days, news on print and digital media has become very essential for everyone to stay aware with current happenings in the world. the increased amount of IT penetration and digitization has resulted in more number of people accessing various social media offerings like YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo, etc. With the increased usage of social media, the amount of fake news also has increased disproportionately high. Fake news may cause economic and social problems. It is very difficult to find source of fake news and to make the concerned accountable for it. the accountability of authentic news is decreasing day by day. In this paper, we are proposing a Blockchain-based platform which acts as a media to share news. the source of news and each interaction will be recorded in the Blockchain and it is immutable. Users have read access to the news and they can also give rating to news based on its authenticity. Authors/journalists have write access, so that they can post their contents to media. Facial expression is the most powerful, natural and universal nonverbal means for human beings to convey their emotional state and intention in the process of communication. Face expression recognition can make robots read human emotions and become more intelligent. therefore, facial expression recognition has become one of the research hotspots in artificial intelligence, human-computer interaction and image recognition. In recent years, deep learning is a hot research direction of facial expression recognition, which can effectively improve the face recognition rate. this paper first introduces the relevant knowledge of facial expression recognition, then summarizes the commonly used deep learning algorithms and the latest research progress in facial expression recognition, and finally summarizes the main technical challenges and research difficulties in facial expression recognition.

Facial expression recognition (FER) has become increasingly important in the field of human-computer interaction. this paper proposes an improved method with attention mechanism to improve FER performance. Our approach is grounded in two crucial observations. Firstly, as multiple categories share similar underlying facial characteristics, distinguishing between them may be subtle. Secondly, recognizing facial expressions demands a comprehensive approach by encoding high-order interactions among localized features from multiple facial regions simultaneously. To address these challenges, we introduce our MAN model consisting of three key components: Multi-branch stack Residual Network (MRN), Transitional Attention Network (TAN), and Appropriate Cascade Structure (ACS). the TAN learns objectives to maximize class separability, while the MRN deploys attention heads to focus on various facial regions and generate attention maps. Additionally, the ACS module provides a more reasonable construction method for the model. Comprehensive experiments on three publicly available datasets (AffectNet, RAF-DB, and CK+) consistently achieves better expression recognition performance. Compared to the ResNet network, our approach yielded an improved accuracy of 3.3%, 3.2%, 4.1% and 1.8% on the Affectnet7 dataset, Affectnet8 dataset, RAF-DB dataset, and CK+ dataset, respectively. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2024.

Automatically adapting an interactive application to its use context is highly dependent on the existence of a declarative model. the Model-Based User Interface Development research made important progress in fully declarative specifications on interactive applications. However, the Abstract User Interface declarative models, such as task-based or communication-based models, are unfamiliar to designers and developers. this paper presents early explorations into a research program aimed at achieving fully declarative interactive applications: outlining a static concrete user interface and deriving the interaction from its affordances. the basic assumption is that for a well-designed user interface, the UI function can be derived from its form through affordance mechanisms. As the static aspects like the UI initial form are already being described declaratively in industrial practice, fully declarative interactive applications would result from the new research program.

the real-time map plays a vital role in the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) navigation. Compared with the existing map review, the real-time map review method is based on crowdsensing enabling faster data updates and shortening the map period from map collection to service. However, the crowdsensing method requires frequent interaction between the vehicle and nearby devices or servers, increasing the risk of user privacy leakage. How to ensure the privacy of users is a challenge in the real-time map review. Starting from the typical architecture of IoV and combining the core idea of zero-trust 'never trust, continuous verification', IoV-ZT conceptual model architecture is designed. this paper proposes a based on linkable ring signature map review scheme for zero-trust autonomous vehicles (LRSMR). In the LRSMR, a linkable ring signature based on the SM2 digital signature algorithm is used to protect user identity privacy and ensures while ensuring signature linkability by hiding the identity of the actual signer in the ring. through the requirement for user credit, the reliability of the review data is improved. At the same time, the distribution of rewards increases users' motivation. At last, the security analysis indicates that the LRSMR satisfies correctness, unforgeability, unconditional anonymity, linkability and nonslanderability. the simulation results illustrate that the LRSMR is efficient in terms of communication overhead and computation cost. © 2023 IEEE.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), or drones with cameras, are crucial for environmental awareness in applications like smart agriculture, border security, and disaster response. Building realistic UAV testbeds for novel network control algorithms is challenging due to time constraints and regulatory limitations. To develop an autonomous air-to-ground coordination platform, in this paper, we introduce a UAV-swarm-aided Disaster Response Platform (DRP) that simulates video transmission and coordination that integrates simulation for both drones and networks, allowing experimentation with protocols (HTTP/TCP, UDP/RTP, QUIC) and video properties (codec, resolution). Our design combined human-centered interaction principles, prioritizing user experience and indicating multi-modal interactions. In addition, our approach utilizes trace-based experiments to demonstrate its effectiveness in delivering video quality (e.g., PSNR) aligning with real-world measurements, while in the meantime validating model accuracy. Evaluation results demonstrate that our intelligent video transmission and air-to-ground coordination strategies present reasonable video quality under measurement of subjective and objective metrics, and in the meantime achieve approximate to 85% accuracy with dynamic decision-making with competitive time efficiency and energy savings (approximate to 18% gain) compared to on-boarding only. Implementing these strategies in UAV-swarm-aided DRPs significantly enhances overall response efficiency, ensuring the safety of lives and property.

With the continuous development of electrification and intelligence in ships, the importance of the ship power system in maritime safety has become increasingly prominent. To enhance the safety performance of the ship power system, this paper designs a monitoring and alarm software system for ship power systems based on PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and touch screen technology. the software first collects data from the ship’s power system model using a LabVIEW communication program. It then facilitates data exchange between the PLC and LabVIEW through Modbus TCP/IP. the PLC is responsible for data processing, logical judgment, and control management, while the touch screen provides data display, sound and light alarms, and human-machine interaction features. Experimental verification has demonstrated that this design can quickly respond and make rational decisions in the event of a fault in the ship’s power system, effectively improving the safety and operational reliability of the ship.

Facial expression recognition (FER) is an important task in computer vision, having practical applications in areas such as human-computer interaction, education, healthcare, and online monitoring. Although significant progress has been made possible by deep learning, real-world deployment of the FER system still needs to be improved, particularly with limited resources such as embedded or mobile systems. From this challenging FER task, we propose a lightweight network that combines a lightweight high performance backbone by applying ZenNAS [1] and a distillation feature part after backbone to refine features. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that the proposed ZenNet-SA achieves state-of-the-art results on three FER benchmark datasets, RAF-DB (88.53%) as well as AffectNet 7 class (65.23%) and 8 class (61.32%) in the light-weight models group with a model size less than 1M and computation costs approximately 450M Flops. Our results demonstrate a notable improvement in efficiency, with a decrease of approximately 97% in FLOPS and 91% in the number of parameters compared to POSTER V2 in terms of computational and resource costs. © 2024 ICROS.

Autonomous robotic grasping has emerged as a valuable capability for automating everyday household tasks like table setting (bossing), cleaning, and meal preparation. Still, accurately detecting and manipulating diverse everyday objects in unstructured home environments remains a significant challenge. In this study, an integrated robotic system combining YOLOv8s-seg deep learning for object detection and segmentation with computer vision techniques to determine optimal grasping points is proposed. the accuracy of this model has also been compared with other models through their mAP0.5, mAP.05-.95, precision and recall. A custom dataset of over 1000 images containing common household objects was created, with manual annotation and augmentation to train the YOLOv8s-seg segmentation model. the approach processes input images to understand desired arrangements and identify target objects and their locations for grasping. the detected objects are localized using camera-to-robot calibration and aligned with estimated orientations from computer vision techniques. Extensive tests have proven that representative household objects in cluttered arrangements have a grasping success rate of over 90% using a 3DOF Delta Parallel robot with a 2-finger gripper guided entirely by visual perception. By overcoming real-world challenges like transparent and reflective materials, the perception-guided robots provide precise and efficient robotic grasping in unstructured home environments. this integrated approach combines robust perception and localization, providing promising evidence for reliable automation of repetitive household organization tasks1.1A video of real-time grasp performance is uploaded as supplementary material. © 2023 IEEE.
