In case of cloud computing service for business usages, with the growth of business opportunities such as the increased number of employee or commerce site's access, the efficient resource or QoS management in virtual network layer come to be more important. Also, autonomous network configuration in virtual layer which can provide optimal efficient resource and QoS service is needed. Not only network configuration is constructed in physical layer, but also it is needed to be constructed in virtual layer for future services. In this paper, it is discussed about Overlay Cloud computing Architecture which is consisted of virtual autonomous network configuration in cloud computing service including various server and network services for business intelligent system. In our proposal methods, first of all, there are various kinds of autonomous modes such as eco mode, high power mode, and secure mode. then, virtual network and server configuration is automatically held in virtual layer with the proper mode setting. Besides, with observation values of network and server condition, virtual configuration is changed optimally. In this optimal configuration changing, Kalman filter is used for the calculation of network and server condition. then, the prototype of the proposed methods is reported, and the future study is discussed in the paper.

Information dissemination is an important application in VANETs for traffic safety and efficiency. In urban area, roadside infrastructure nodes can be deployed for information dissemination. However, it is inefficient and uneconomical to cover the whole urban area. How to find the optimal locations to place DPs is a research problem. Some works on this issue have to collect accurate trajectories of all the vehicles, which is not practical in the real environment. In this paper, we propose a novel approach for DPs placement in grid road networks without knowing trajectories. Based on the analysis of path number between two intersections, a probabilistic model is proposed to get the trajectories estimation of vehicles. the theoretical optimal algorithm (OA) and two heuristic algorithms (called KP-G and GA) are developed for the problem. Simulation results reveal that GA is scalable and has the highest coverage ratio on average.

With the popularisation of Web 2.0 applications, organizations see in them a means to improve their productivity by giving new and efficient collaborative tools to their members. the juxtaposition of several different Web applications inside organisation Information System (IS) can be viewed as a digital ecosystem. We show in this article how the members' activities inside these digital ecosystems can help to compute the social network of the organization. To do so, we present a semantic model of such an ecosystem and a method to compute the social network of the organization from the different resources the users share on the different Web applications deployed in the IS of the organization. We will finally present an implementation of our model and our algorithm in order to compute the social network of the french Knowledge Engineering (KE) community.

Although capacities of persistent storage devices evolved rapidly in the last years, the bandwidth between memory and persistent storage devices is still the bottleneck. As loosely coupled data sharing applications running in cluster environment may need an enormous number of files, the access to these files might become the bottleneck. With the quick development of the server and high-speed network, there are many works done on distributed memory cache to minimize data requests to the centralized filesystem. these systems have the drawback that nodes are coupled together to form a distributed cache statically. It is a difficult administrative task for changing environments like clusters. Current high performance computing resources, support batch job submissions using distributed resource management systems like TORQUE. How to use the resource management system to set up a self-organizing distributed memory cache on demand has rarely been studied. In this paper, we design a framework for dynamically setting up distributed memory cache for data sharing applications. Shared files are stored in the distributed memory cache, which can be accessed transparently and deliver data with high bandwidth. We describe the architecture of the framework, and evaluate its performance for a use case scenario.

Frequent Itemset Mining (FIM) is one of the most investigated fields of data mining. the goal of Frequent Itemset Mining (FIM) is to find the most frequently-occurring subsets from the transactions within a database. Many methods have been proposed to solve this problem, and the Apriori algorithm is one of the best known methods for frequent Itemset mining (FIM) in a transactional database. In this paper, a parallel Frequent Itemset Mining Algorithm, called Accelerating parallel Frequent Itemset Mining on Graphic Processors with Sorting (APFMS), is presented. this algorithm utilizes new-generation graphic processing units (GPUs) to accelerate the mining process. In it, massive processing units of GPU were used to speed up the frequent item verification procedure on the OpenCL platform. the experimental results demonstrated that the proposed algorithm had dramatically reduced computation time compared with previous methods.

Cloud computing can enhance the computing capability of mobile systems by offloading. However, the communication between the mobile device and the cloud is not free. Transmitting large data to cloud consumes much more energy than processing data in mobile device, especially in a low bandwidth condition. Further, some processing tasks can avoid transmitting large data between mobile device and server. those processing tasks (encoding, rendering) are as the compress algorithm, which can reduce the size of raw data before it is sent to server. In this paper, we present an energy efficient task scheduling strategy (EETS) to determine what kind of task with certain amount of data should be chosen to be offloaded under different environment. We have evaluated the scheduler by using an Android smartphone. the results show that our strategy can achieve 99% of accuracy to choose the right action in order to minimize the system energy usage.

With improvement of network performance, content distribution services such as live streaming have been widely spread. For these services, it is effective to use a multicast distribution system. However, conventional multicast distribution systems are best-effort services using the Internet, which do not guarantee the Quality of Services (QoS). On the other hand, Software Defined network (SDN) and In-network cache are attracted much attention as new frameworks which are different from the conventional network. In this paper, we propose a multicast distribution system with functions of placement and retransmission, exploiting In-network cache for QoS guarantee and time-shift viewing. We implement a prototype system using OpenFlow, and evaluated the performance on the proposed system through computer emulations.

Botnet is widely used in cyber-attacks and becomes a serious threat to network security. Existing approaches can detect botnet effectively in certain environments, however problems still exist in using host or network detection approaches respectively, such as robustness in detection tools, difficulties in global deployment and low precision rate. To solve the above problems, a novel detection approach called BotInfer is proposed. In BotInfer approach, host-based bot detection tools are deployed on some of the hosts;network flow of all the hosts is captured and analyzed;host detection result and flow information are correlated by the bot inference engine. through the experiments, BotInfer can effectively detect the hosts in the network. When the deployment rate of bot detection tools in the network reaches 80%, the precision rate of the hosts with detection tools is about 99%, and the precision rate of the hosts without detection tools is about 86%.

the LU decomposition is a widely used method to solve the dense linear algebra in many scientific computation applications. In recent years, the single instruction multiple data (SIMD) technology has been a popular method to accelerate the LU decomposition. However, the pipeline parallelism and memory bandwidth utilization are low when the LU decomposition mapped onto SIMD processors. this paper proposes a fine-grained pipelined implementation of LU decomposition on SIMD processors. the fine-grained algorithm well utilizes data dependences of the native algorithm to explore the fine-grained parallelism among all the computation resources. By transforming the non-coalesced memory access to coalesced version, the proposed algorithm can achieve the high pipeline parallelism and the high efficient memory access. Experimental results show that the proposed technology can achieve a speedup of 1.04x to 1.82x over the native algorithm and can achieve about 89% of the peak performance on the SIMD processor.

Ceph is an emerging open-source parallel distributed file and storage system. By design, Ceph leverages unreliable commodity storage and network hardware, and provides reliability and fault-tolerance via controlled object placement and data replication. this paper presents our file and block I/O performance and scalability evaluation of Ceph for scientific high-performance computing (HPC) environments. Our work makes two unique contributions. First, our evaluation is performed under a realistic setup for a large-scale capability HPC environment using a commercial high-end storage system. Second, our path of investigation, tuning efforts, and findings made direct contributions to Ceph's development and improved code quality, scalability, and performance. these changes should benefit both Ceph and the HPC community at large. © 2013 ACM.
