Peer-to-peer conference is an interactive multi-users conferencing application that improves the issues of concentrated loading, single-point failure and expensive infrastructure cost for the traditional centralized conference model, according to the conference resource shared by each other. the benefit of non-centralized system can be achieved by using P2P-SIP. However, unlike the traditional centralized architecture, the conference resource is provided by each peer user. How to search the heterogeneous resource efficiently is a key point in the dynamic and distributed environment. thus, we proposed a multi-constraint resource search algorithm for P2P-SIP conferencing services. In the full distributed environment, users can search a usable resource to reduce the call-setup time and save the conferencing cost according to the conferencing scale and the quality requirements. © ifip international Federation for Information Processing 2012.

Current multicore system technology enables implementation of particular program functions like library operations, special functions generation, optimized data search etc. using dedicated computing units to increase overall program performance. A parallel system can be equipped with a set of such units to speed up execution of applications, which use such functionality. To properly model and schedule programs using such functions running on a dedicated hardware, a proper program representation must be introduced. the paper presents special scheduling algorithm for programs represented as graphs, based on a modified ETF heuristics. the algorithm is meant for a modular architecture composed of many CMP modules interconnected by a global data communication network. the assumed architecture of dedicated CMP modules enables personalized fully synchronous program execution, which uses communication on the fly to strongly reduce inter-core communication overheads.

Key generation, a well known alternative to key distribution, allows two (or more) parties to concurrently generate the same secret key through their independent measurements of a mutually observable random information source. within wireless networks the reciprocity of channel characterization measurements can be used to provide this required random source of information. this work enables key generation within peer-to-peer wired network by algorithmically extending the notion of wireless reciprocity into the wired domain. It is shown that for larger-scale Erdos-Renyi style peer-to-peer networks, the developed key generation approach remains secure when up to 75% of the peer-to-peer network's edge are assumed to be adversary controlled. in comparison to prior works, the proposed approach requires zero knowledge of either the network topology or the link capacities allowing it to be particularly well suited to today's global-scale peer-to-peer networks. © 2012 IEEE.

With the rapid development of computer industry, the number of applications has been growing rapidly. Furthermore, even one application may correspond to different application scenarios which impose different requirements on performance or power. this trend raises the following question: how to design processors that best suit millions of application scenarios? It is impractical to design a dedicated processor for each single application scenario. A better alternative is to design a general-purpose processor architecture that can generate different architecture instances on demand. this paper proposes a novel CPU architecture called Elastic Architecture (EA), which can be dynamically configured into different architecture instances to suit different application scenarios. By employing reconfigurable architecture components (instruction set, branch predictor, data path, memory hierarchy, concurrency, status & control, and so on), the EA can achieve considerable elasticities on each application, which enables the EA to meet the performance or power requirements associated with each application scenario. We validate the effectiveness of the EA on a prototype implementation called Sim-EA. We demonstrate that Sim-EA exhibits large elasticities over 26 benchmarks of SPEC CPU2000, enabling Sim-EA to reduce the average energy-delay product (EDP) by 31.14% of a fixed baseline architecture. © ifip international Federation for Information Processing 2012.

Every night, a large number of idle smartphones are plugged into a power source for recharging the battery. Given the increasing computing capabilities of smartphones, these idle phones constitute a sizeable computing infrastructure. therefore, for an enterprise which supplies its employees with smartphones, we argue that a computing infrastructure that leverages idle smartphones being charged overnight is an energy-efficient and cost-effective alternative to running tasks on traditional server infrastructure. While parallel execution and scheduling models exist for servers (e.g., MapReduce), smartphones present a unique set of technical challenges due to the heterogeneity in CPU clock speed, variability in network bandwidth, and lower availability compared to servers. In this paper, we address many of these challenges to develop CWC-a distributed computing infrastructure using smartphones. Specifically, our contributions are: (i) we profile the charging behaviors of real phone owners to show the viability of our approach, (ii) we enable programmers to execute parallelizable tasks on smart-phones with little effort, (iii) we develop a simple task migration model to resume interrupted task executions, and (iv) we implement and evaluate a prototype of CWC (with 18 Android smart-phones) that employs an underlying novel scheduling algorithm to minimize the makespan of a set of tasks. Our extensive evaluations demonstrate that the performance of our approach makes our vision viable. Further, we explicitly evaluate the performance of CWC's scheduling component to demonstrate its efficacy compared to other possible approaches. © 2012 ACM.

CoreGRID is a European research network of Excellence (NoE) that was initiated in 2004 as part of the EU FP6 research framework and run up to 2008. CoreGRID partners, from 44 different countries, developed theoretical foundations and software infrastructures for large-scale, distributed Grid and P2P applications. An ERCIM sponsored CoreGRID Working Group was established to ensure the continuity of the CoreGrid programme after the official end of NoE. the working group extended its interests to include the emerging field of (service based) cloud computing which is of great importance to the European software industry. Its main goals consist in i) sustaining the operation of the CoreGRID network, ii) establishing a forum to encourage collaboration between the Grid and P2P computing research communities, and (iii) encourage research on the role of cloud computing as a new paradigm for distributed computing in e-Science.

Constructing a scientific and effective bank risk forewarning model is an important measure to effectively guard against and defuse risks in commercial banks. this article constructs a bank risk forewarning model using BP neural network and principal component analysis method. Meanwhile, being aimed at that it takes a long time while processing the mass data to train the network, it also decomposes the algorithm for MapReduce, running in parallel to reduce the running time. the experiment result shows that the neural network model achieved higher accuracy of rate 88percents.

this paper presents practical design of a three port feed network for a dual-band and dual-polarized patch antenna operating at 1.9 GHZ and 2.4 GHz. Initially, design graphs are used to determine the dimensions of the patch for dual band application and the component values of the two equivalent parallel tuned circuits of the antenna at each frequency. Finally the predicted and practical results are compared. © 2012 IEEE.

this paper presents a novel approach to the study of heterogeneous networks. NetBoxIT is a modular, and scalable testbed based on virtualized network emulators. these can be interconnected and run in parallel to reproduce complex networks scenarios within a shared, multi-core hardware platform. We examine the testbed performance with simple emulation trials (related to the reference Emergency network under study within the EU 7th FP project "A holistic approach towards the development of the first responder of the future"), to verify its realism in assessing multipart networks evaluations.

In this paper we describe the implementation of a declarative framework to support the development of distributed management applications. the framework is based on an extension of declarative networking, an asynchronous computational model that uses recursive SQL as its foundation and has been successfully used for the implementation of multiple networking protocols including opinion-based preferential routing as well as standard path vector and link state routing protocols. the SQL implementation enables analysis capabilities that can help avoid implementation and logic errors.
