the Internet of things (IoT) has recently become mainstream, different from the incomplete realization of ubiquitous computing, sensor networks, and others in past that commonly shared the notion of visionary hyper-connectivity, i. e., everything is connected. Among many, one significant reason for this achievement of IoT is the nowadays availability of cloud computing which can cost effectively deal withthe sheer number of globally distributed devices and data generated from those devices. In this paper, we address the issue of IoT scalability in cloud environments by proposing the unique integration scheme between pub/sub systems and Named Data networking (NDN). While the pub/sub architecture has been applied in modern IoT cloud platforms, its implementation and deployment practice have not been fully studied for large scale IoT applications. Our approach concentrates on how to leverage the essential scalability of NDN for building pub/sub systems, thereby achieving scalable IoT cloud services.

Edge and fog computing are emerging concepts extending traditional cloud computing by deploying compute resources closer to the users. this approach, closely integrated with carrier-networks, enables several future services, such as tactile internet, 5G and beyond telco services, and extended reality applications. the emphasis is on integration: the rigorous delay constraints, ensuring reliability on the distributed remote nodes, and the sheer scale altogether call for a powerful provisioning platform that offers the applications the best out of the underlying infrastructure. In this paper we investigate the resource provisioning problem in the edge infrastructure withthe consideration of probable failures. Our goal is to support high reliability of services withthe minimum amount of edge resources reserved to provide the necessary redundancy in the system. We design a resource provisioning algorithm, which takes into account network latency when pinpointing backup placeholders for virtual functions of edge applications. We implement the proposed solution in a simulation environment and show the efficient resource utilization results achieved by our fast heuristic algorithm.

In multi-user cooperative distributed antenna system (DAS) with limited feedback, multi-user interference (MUI) within the service cell and inter-cell interference (ICI) from adjacent cells are inevitable because of the quantization error. Considering this, we propose an adaptive bit partition scheme, which allocates more bits to quantize the stronger interference channels and changes with channel conditions. Based on our derived upper-bound of average data rate loss, the simulation results show that the proposed scheme has at least 0.5 similar to 1dB rate improvement than other average-bit partition schemes, especially in high signal to noise ratio (SNR) region.

Storage Set-vice Provider (SSP) of GDSS has dedicated buffer to cache metadata. the design, implementation and evaluation of RCMMS are discussed in this paper. this paper proposes a novel algorithm for load balancing in the parallel and distributed systems. Firstly, almost all jobs are organized into the standard job combinations, each of which consists of one to four jobs. then they are assigned to the machines according to the assignment algorithm for job combinations, which is a special integer partition algorithm. the maximum error between the optimal algorithm and our algorithm is estimated. the experimental results show that our algorithm performs efficiently.

Parallel and distributed Knowledge Discovery (PDKD) is emerging as a possible killer application for clusters and grids of computers. the need to process large volumes of data and the availability of parallel data mining algorithms, makes it possible to exploit the increasing computational power of clusters at low costs. On the other side, grid computing is an emerging "standard" to develop and deploy distributed, high performance applications over geographic networks, in different domains, and in particular for data intensive applications. this paper proposes an approach to integrate cluster of computers within a grid infrastructure to use them, enriched by specific data mining services, as the deployment platform for high performance distributed data mining and knowledge discovery.
