Data leakage has become a problem of epidemic proportions with very serious consequences for businesses and their customers. Experts warn that it is very difficult for organisations to avoid infiltration and that they should be prepared for such events. Proactive detection of ongoing attacks is therefore critically important. In this paper we describe the design and implementation of Peeper, a policy based system for data leakage detection that utilizes operating system call provenance. the implementation of our scheme shows that it enables real-time data detection of data leakage. It tracks the operations performed on sensitive files and issues alerts if suspicious activities are detected.

In the last decade the number of power generation using renewable energy has been rapidly increased due to the energy and environmental issue. this trend in renewable energy has shifting power generation system from Centralized Generation (CG) to distributed Generation (DG). With the new power generation on conventional distribution system, Analysis on disturbance must be done to ensure safety and reliability of the system. this paper aim to analyze behavior of transient signal when disturbance occur in distribution system with distributed generation. System under study is 22kV distribution system consist of wind power generation unit. Simulation was done by using PSCAD/EMTP program. the Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) is applied for decomposition of fault signal. To evaluate wavelet characteristic when fault occur in the system, Comparison in case of distribution system with and without wind power generation were done. Result indicated that with distributed generation, fault level is increasing and cause a changing in wavelet signal characteristic.

the objective of this work is to address the problem of efficient, security-aware and fault-tolerant resource management in Cloud computing (CC) systems, aiming to allocate and schedule client's submission to available machines in such a way that providers achieve optimal resource utilization while users meet their applications' performance and security requirements with a minimum expenditure and overhead. To this aim we developed a number of intelligent scheduling and load balancing mechanisms for an optimal spread of workload on distributed machines and servers of the considered cloud platform taking into account two general criteria: the execution time of the submitted tasks and the level of provided security assurance.

Optimal traffic light scheduling is a fundamental problem in modern urban areas. It has severe impact on traffic flow management, energy consumption and vehicular emissions, as well as on urban noise. the vast number of traffic lights in modern cities increases the complexity of the scheduling problem and, at the same time, urgently needs for efficient algorithms that optimize the light cycle programs. In this work, we propose a solution for the traffic light scheduling problem by using Differential Evolution, and investigate the benefits of parallelism on this complex problem. For understanding the impact in the city, the popular micro-simulator SUMO is used. We evaluate our approach on close-to-reality problem scenarios consisting of two large urban areas located in the cities of Malaga, Spain, and Paris, France. Our results are promising and encourage further investigation of parallel approaches to enable scalability.

Cloud computing is evolving as a new model of big-scale distributed computing. It provides own services to online on-demand and pay-as-you-go basis. In cloud computing environment load balancing is a key issue which is required to distributing the dynamic workload over multiple machines to make certain that no single machine is overloaded. In order it helps in ideal use of resource and as a consequence enhancing the performance of the system, we need an efficient task scheduling algorithm. the Min-Min algorithm is simple that produce a schedule that minimize the makespan but this algorithm does not make use of resource effectively. In this paper, we proposed an Improved Load Balanced Min-Min (ILBMM) algorithm using genetic algorithm (GA) in order to minimize the makespan and increase the utilization of resource. the implementation of proposed algorithm has been completed using CloudSim simulator and simulation outcomes demonstration that the proposed algorithm outperforms to current algorithm on same objectives.

Driven by the trends of BigData and Cloud computing, there is a growing demand for processing and analyzing data that are generated and stored across geo-distributed data centers. However, due to the limited network bandwidth between data centers and the growing data volume spread across different locations, it has become increasingly inefficient to aggregate data and to perform computations at a single data center. An approach that has been commonly used by data-intensive cluster computation systems, like Hadoop, is to distribute computations based on data locality so that data can be processed locally to reduce the network overhead and improve performance. But limited work has been done to adapt and evaluate such technique for geo-distributed data centers. In this paper, we proposed DRASH (Data-Replication Aware Scheduler), a job scheduling algorithm that enforces data locality to prevent data transfer, and exploits data replications to improve overall system performance. Our evaluation using simulations with realistic workload traces shows that DRASH can outperform other existing approaches by 16% to 60% in average job completion time, and achieve greater improvements under higher data replication factors.

the spectrum utility can be improved when cooperative communication technology is incorporated into cognitive radio network, and both the licensed users and secondary users can benefit from cooperating. In this cooperative cognitive radio network, a primary user and multiple secondary users cooperate with each other adopting space-time coding relay scheme to benefit win-win cooperation. Considering the primary user owns the spectrum and both the primary user and secondary users are selfish and reasonable, this cooperative cognitive network is formulated as a Stackelberg game. Based on utility maximizing, this paper studies the spectrum allocation and relay selection problem. A spectrum allocation algorithm is derived under given number of secondary users, and a low complexity relay selection strategy is proposed to maximize the utility of the primary user while guaranteeing the data rate of the primary user and the fairness among the secondary users. Numerical results show the feasibility and validity of the proposed relay selection scheme.

With advances in solar photovoltaic technology and decreasing costs of panels, solar energy is considered as an economical and sustainable solution for growing energy demands, especially in countries such as India with high insolation levels. However, key challenges exist in large scale adoption of distributed solar generation. Firstly, there are concerns related to breach of voltage regulations and system instabilities caused by distributed generation. Secondly, there are challenges in providing robust communication infrastructure for utilities to actively control and dispatch distributed generation. We address these challenges by designing a decentralised controller iPlug, which involves voltage-sensitive back-off of the level of solar capacity injection into the grid and is inspired by the CSMA protocol from networking literature. this is done in conjunction with other resources like local batteries and local demand ramp-up resources. iPlug functions are complementary to emerging microinverter technologies and could in principle be incorporated into either the inverter controls or battery and home energy management control systems. We present preliminary results from simulation-based evaluation of iPlug algorithms and compare it with static PV injection strategies.

the Internet of things (IoT) is an emerging architecture that seeks to interconnect all of the "things" we use on a daily basis. Whereas the Internet originated as a way to connect traditional computing devices in order to share information, IoT includes everything from automobiles to appliances to buildings. As networks and devices become more diverse and disparate in their communication methods and interfaces, traditional host-to host technologies such as Internet Protocol (IP) are challenged to provide the level of data exchange and security needed to operate in this new network paradigm. Named Data networking (NDN) is a developing Internet architecture that can help implement the IoT paradigm in a more efficient and secure manner. this paper introduces the NDN architecture in comparison to the traditional IP-based architecture and discusses several security concepts pertaining to NDN that make this a powerful technology for implementing the Internet of things.
