this paper deals with sentiment analysis in text documents, especially text valence detection. the proposed solution is based on Support Vector Machines classifier. this classifier was trained with huge amount of data and complex word combinations were analysed. For this purpose distributed learning on 112 processors was used. Datasets used for training and testing were automatically obtained from real user feedback on products from different web pages (and different product segments). the proposed solution has been evaluated with different languages - English, German, Czech and Spanish. this paper improves accuracy achieved with the Big Data approach about 11%. the best accuracy achieved in this work was 95.31% for recognition of positive and negative text valence. the described learning is fully automatic, can be applied to any language and no complicated preprocessing is needed.

We study the problem of distributed bias-compensated recursive least-squares (BCRLS) estimation with quantized measurements, which means that the nodes in adaptive networks collaborate to estimate a common deterministic parameter using quantized data. Traditional recursive least (RLS) algorithms are biased when both the regressor and the output response are corrupted by stationary additive noise. And considering the limited bandwidth resources and the growing complexity in communication, the measurements transmitted in adaptive networks are always quantized in practical cases, which also contributes to the bias in estimation. therefore, a distributed bias-compensated RLS algorithm is proposed in this paper to estimate the bias caused by both the background noise and the quantization noise and compensate for it cooperatively. Meanwhile, considering the advantages of diffusion strategies, the algorithm is developed in a diffusion fashion. Simulation results illustrate the good performance of the proposed algorithm. A learning object repository is a digital library developed by a group of educators and researchers to store both context and/or content while sharing, managing and reusing this resource. this idea aims at making the knowledge units interchangeable with assessment forms in a standard way so that evaluating learning outcomes and teaching strategies results in greater educational benefits. WReSTT-CyLE is a cyber-enabled virtual learning environment that provides students and educators with information on software testing, supports various types of teaching materials in the form of learning objects (LOs), and facilitates social and media networking and peer study environments. Virtual Learning Environments has become a major field of interest in recent years, with the integration of multiple social and media networking applications and has dominated in current academic learning environments and peer learning support resources. In this paper, we present a computer science course study of multiple subjects using WReSTT-CyLE to teach software-testing concepts. Software testing is considered a highlevel concept and is not widely offered in many computer science programs. WReSTT-CyLE is a learning resource that can be used by students and instructors to improve their knowledge of software testing techniques and testing tools. A study was performed at Alabama A&M University to determine the impact using WReSTT-CyLE had on students' knowledge of software testing. © American Society for Engineering Education, 2016.

Freight transport is recognized as a complex system that is affected by globalization effects, integration of different transport modes, geographically distributed operations and extended business models. Such complexity is also amplified by the need for the real-time response on the unexpected situations detected during the transportation phase (e.g. weather conditions, strikes, accidents). In a very demanding market, request for on-time cargo delivery, transport efficiency is a critical issue, and the ability for real-time detection and resolving of all possible obstacles and exceptions becomes a core competency for logistics operators. the work presented here introduces the concept of Smart Cargo, able to autonomously react to its context, find and understand alternatives, compute adaptive behavior, optimizing its own decisions. the Smart Cargo concept, implements a paradigm shift requiring taking the control of computing applications, data, and services away from some central nodes (the "cloud") to the other logical extreme (the "fog") of the Internet. Fog provides an intelligent connection of people, processes, data, and things, enabling Smart Cargo to go beyond the existing Intelligent Cargo concept. Fog computing is described here, as a necessary paradigm shift on distributed freight intelligence, allowing multimodal freight transport to achieve real-time situation awareness and reaction, planning with predictions and learning from the environment. the rapid progress of cloud technology has attracted a growing number of video providers to deploy their streaming services onto multiple distributed datacenters for more cost-effective performance. the emerging Software-Defined networking (SDN) technology overcomes the limitation of the existing network and provides a promising solution to manage the underlying network. In this paper, we introduce an SDN-enabled cloud video distribution architecture and propose a joint resource allocation and traffic management mechanism to improve user experience and reduce the system operational cost. We use a delay utility function to represent user experience and formulate the joint optimization problem as a convex optimization problem. We conduct simulations to evaluate the performance of our algorithm and the results show that our strategy can effectively cut down the total cost and guarantee user experience.

recently, utilizing ICT is a key of success in every field of industries, and its importance is growing more and more. Typical example is introducing ERP software which assists decision making of stakeholders by providing data regarding running business such as supply chain, procurement, inventory, finance, product lifecycle, projects, human resources, and so on in an integrated form. Especially for manufactures, vertical integration of data from a plant floor to the ERP is highly desirable. However, in most the case the vertical data integration is implemented via some relational database. Database has to endorse ACID property for its nature, and the ACID property could be a burden to realize the vertical integration in "real-time" manner. We propose a data management scheme that all the data at the plant floor, which are mostly held on PLCs' (Programmable Logic Controller) memory, are reflected to the memory which is held in some machine nodes of a data center. It allows users to see whole picture of the plant floor, and enables both data modification from both the data center and from the PLCs in a real-time manner from anywhere in the world. We describe the implementation of the proposing data management scheme and discuss what operations from the data center to the factory are applicable, against the relatively high communication latency from the plant floor to the data center.

Fuzzy logic has gained increasing importance in Decision Support Systems (DSSs), in particular in medical field, since it allows to build a transparent and interpretable knowledge base. However, in order to obtain a general description of a system, probabilistic approaches undoubtedly offer the most significant information. Moreover, a good classifier to be used for medical scopes should be able to: (i) classify data items which are lacking of some input features;(ii) extract knowledge from incomplete datasets;(iii) consider categorical features;(iv) give responses in terms of a set of possible classes with respective degrees of plausibility. the approach here proposed pursues and achieve these objectives by approximating probabilistic information from incomplete datasets with an interpretable fuzzy system for classifying medical data. Resulting fuzzy sets can be interpreted as the terms of the involved linguistic variables, corresponding to numerical and/or categorical features, while weighted rules model probabilistic information. Rules are presented in two forms: the first is a set of one-dimensional models, which can be used if only one input feature is known;the second is a multidimensional combination of them, which can be used if more input features are known. As a proof of concept, the method has been applied for the detection of Multiple Sclerosis Lesions. the results show that this method is able to construct, for each one of the variables influencing the classification, an interpretable fuzzy partition, and very simple if-then rules. Moreover, multidimensional rule bases can be constructed, by means of which improved results are obtained, also with respect to naive Bayes classifier.

With prevalence of remote storage services, data privacy issues become more serious owing to loss of control to outsourced data. In the meanwhile, the service providers tend to minimize storage utility costs. To minimize the storage costs while preserving data privacy, secure deduplication techniques have been proposed, which are categorized into client-side or server-side approaches. Client-side approach achieves storage and bandwidth savings at the same time but allows external adversaries to know existence of duplicates in the remote storage. On the contrary, server-side one prevents the adversaries from getting acknowledged but sacrifices network bandwidth savings. In fog computing, however, which is a new computing paradigm extending the cloud computing by outsourcing a centralized workload of the cloud to geographically distributed fog devices located at the edge of the networks, the previous deduplication schemes cannot guarantee efficiency improvement and privacy preservation simultaneously. In this paper, we present a simple but nontrivial solution of these contradictory issues in fog storage. the proposed hybrid secure deduplication protocol combines client-and server-side deduplications by taking untrustworthy fog storage environments into account. the client-side deduplication is applied in inter-network (i.e., cloud-fog network) communications to prevent network congestion at the network core, while the server-side deduplication is adopted in intra-network (i.e., user-fog network) communications to prevent information leakage via side channels for maximal data privacy. Performance and security analyses demonstrate the comparable efficiency of the proposed scheme with security enhancement. © 2016 IEEE.

In an increasingly dynamic and competitive environment with growing complexity, efficient processes are existentially for manufacturing companies. this implies the drive towards ever more high performance manufacturing systems, which are also robust against disturbances. this paper introduces a paradigm of distributed intelligent manufacturing control system based on agent, in which so-called smart components are embedded knowledge about the manufacturing process and its real time state. the application of the RFID (radio frequency identification) technology aids to realize smart components, to carry out the "physical communication" with the other equipments on the shop floor. the proposed paradigm can make the real-time decision based on the operating status of the system. It can be applied to the heterogeneous software and hardware of the existing system to carry out real-time dynamic reconfiguration. Recently, Genetic Algorithm (GA) is actively applied to engineering problems. In the most of real engineering problems, they have many constraints. By penalty method, which is the most popular method in the constrained problems, it is difficult to find the solutions which satisfy all constraints. In this paper, the stepwise satisfaction method based on the difficulty of constraints for multi-constrained optimization problems is proposed. the features of this method are defining the difficulty of each constraint by the initial population and giving the priority to be satisfied on more difficult constraints. this method also has the feature that it does not have any parameters like penalty coefficient.
