In the last decade the number of power generation using renewable energy has been rapidly increased due to the energy and environmental issue. this trend in renewable energy has shifting power generation system from Centralized Generation (CG) to distributed Generation (DG). With the new power generation on conventional distribution system, Analysis on disturbance must be done to ensure safety and reliability of the system. this paper aim to analyze behavior of transient signal when disturbance occur in distribution system with distributed generation. System under study is 22kV distribution system consist of wind power generation unit. Simulation was done by using PSCAD/EMTP program. the Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) is applied for decomposition of fault signal. To evaluate wavelet characteristic when fault occur in the system, Comparison in case of distribution system with and without wind power generation were done. Result indicated that with distributed generation, fault level is increasing and cause a changing in wavelet signal characteristic.

Accurate prediction of trends in marine pollution is strategic, given the negative effects of low water quality on human marine activities. We describe here the computational and functional performance evaluation of a decision making tool that we developed in the context of an operational workflow for food quality forecast and assessment. Our Water Community Model (WaComM) uses a particle-based Lagrangian approach relying on tridimensional marine dynamics field produced by coupled Eulerian atmosphere and ocean models. WaComM has been developed matching the hierarchical parallelization design requirements and tested in Intel X86_64 and IBM P8 multi core environments and integrated in FACE-IT Galaxy workflow. the predicted pollutant concentration and the amount of pollutants accumulated in the sampled mussels are compared in search of coherent trends to prove the correct model behaviour. In the case study shown in this paper, the predicted Lagrangian tracers, acting as pollutant concentration surrogates, tend to spread rapidly and undergo rapid dilution as expected depending on dominant water column integrated currents.

Existing music recommendation systems don't suit user subjectivity and are not naturally intuitive. We previously proposed a music recommendation system to address these problems. Our music recommendation system uses Kansei agents and a Kansei retrieval system. the Kansei agents employ a Kansei model and are characterized by a three-layered neural network. Music fluctuation properties are defined as inputs to the neural networks of the Kansei agents. Our previously proposed system returns recommendations based on user subjectivity. However, this system incurs significant user evaluation load. In this study, we introduce a distributed genetic algorithm (DGA) as an optimization method to address this problem. We compare the proposed DGA method to our previous method by simulation. the simulation results indicate that the proposed DGA method significantly outperforms previous method.

Cloud computing is one of the Information Technology services which are provided from IT infrastructures to application services. It is the combination of distributed computing and virtualization technology using virtual machines, an essential component in Cloud computing. therefore, task scheduling is an important matter to consider for virtual machines to balance load of each machine and to efficiently use the resources in Cloud computing. this paper proposes the use of Heuristic task scheduling with Artificial Bee Colony algorithm for virtual machines in heterogeneous Cloud computing, called HABC. the research aim is to introduce HABC, which is a new task scheduling and load balancing algorithm, for virtual machines in heterogeneous environments to reduce the makespan in the system. In the experiments, CloudSim was simulated to compare various types of the optimization task scheduling in using the virtual machines. the experimental results indicated that using the proposed Artificial Bee Colony algorithm when large job was considered first (HABC_LJF) in virtual machine scheduling, improved the efficiency in task scheduling and load balancing of virtual machines in Cloud computing. In addition, the proposed algorithm can minimize the makespan even if the tasks are increased and the different types of data are distributed.

With advances in solar photovoltaic technology and decreasing costs of panels, solar energy is considered as an economical and sustainable solution for growing energy demands, especially in countries such as India with high insolation levels. However, key challenges exist in large scale adoption of distributed solar generation. Firstly, there are concerns related to breach of voltage regulations and system instabilities caused by distributed generation. Secondly, there are challenges in providing robust communication infrastructure for utilities to actively control and dispatch distributed generation. We address these challenges by designing a decentralised controller iPlug, which involves voltage-sensitive back-off of the level of solar capacity injection into the grid and is inspired by the CSMA protocol from networking literature. this is done in conjunction with other resources like local batteries and local demand ramp-up resources. iPlug functions are complementary to emerging microinverter technologies and could in principle be incorporated into either the inverter controls or battery and home energy management control systems. We present preliminary results from simulation-based evaluation of iPlug algorithms and compare it with static PV injection strategies.

With the explosion of vehicles, the concept of Internet of Vehicles (IoV) has drawn increasing concern among academics. the IoV refers to extracting and processing information from massive data which are gathering from vehicles and their surrounds. And an integrated IoV system which is reliable on data storage and efficient on data processing is indispensable. In this paper, we design a distributed storage and processing system depending on Hadoop, HBase and Spark to store and process IoV data. the system can overcome the single point of failure problem, guarantee the reliable data storage and meet the real-time computing requirements. We do thorough tests to evaluate the system performance based on practical IoV data of Fuzhou city. the results indicate that the system can satisfy the requirements of stable data storage and efficient data processing.

Performance of data analytics in Internet of things (IoTs) depends on effective transport services offered by the underlying network. Fog computing enables independent data-plane computational features at the edge-switches, which serves as a platform for performing certain critical analytics required at the IoT source. To this end, in this paper, we implement a working proto-type of Fog computing node based on Software-Defined networking (SDN). Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) is chosen as the candidate IoT protocol that transports data generated from IoT devices (a.k.a. MQTT publishers) to a remote host (called MQTT broker). We implement the MQTT broker functionalities integrated at the edge-switches, that serves as a platform to perform simple message-based analytics at the switches, and also deliver messages in a reliable manner to the end-host for post-delivery analytics. We mathematically validate the improved delivery performance as offered by the proposed switch-embedded brokers.

A number of challenges are facing the design of secure datacenter environments, such as applications high throughput requirements, low latency applications, scalability, ability to detect Advanced Persistent threats (APT), bring your own device (BYOD), and protection against distributed denial of service (DDOS) attacks. Software Defined networking (SDN) is an emerging paradigm that provides flexibility to Datacenter network design. In this paper, a framework is presented to enhance security in SDN-based datacenters. SDN features are leveraged to integrate network layer with security middleboxes such as intrusion prevention system (IPS) or Firewall (FW) to block attackers at the network edge. A proof of concept is designed and implemented using Citrix Xenservers and Mininet emulation software where a typical datacenter fat-tree topology is adopted. Performance evaluation results demonstrate that the proposed framework provides an adaptive self-defending network able to protect running services and defend against internal threats while reducing attack response time.

Software Defined networking (SDN) is an alternative networking paradigm that provides flexible network management through the separation between data plane and control plane functionalities. this separation results in extensive communication between control and data plane, which can result in a severe bottleneck for the whole network, under high traffic conditions. Moreover, researchers shown that an adversary can exploit this bottleneck to mount a powerful Denial of Service attack on the control plane, known as Control Plane Saturation Attack (CPSA). In this paper, we provide a thorough analysis of the CPSA, and in particular we show how it can be amplified by long forwarding paths in an SDN network. We prove the effectiveness of the attack through extensive testing using OpenFlow, the most widely adopted control-data plane communication protocol for SDN. Our evaluation shows that, when the forwarding path length in increased by 5 times, the attacker can leverage a 55% decrease in the attack rate required to incapacitate the network.

the rapid progress of cloud technology has attracted a growing number of video providers to deploy their streaming services onto multiple distributed datacenters for more costeffective *** emerging Software-Defined networking(SDN)technology overcomes the limitation of the existing network and provides a promising solution to manage the underlying *** this paper,we introduce an SDN-enabled cloud video distribution architecture and propose a joint resource allocation and traffic management mechanism to improve user experience and reduce the system operational *** use a delay utility function to represent user experience and formulate the joint optimization problem as a convex optimization *** conduct simulations to evaluate the performance of our algorithm and the results show that our strategy can effectively cut down the total cost and guarantee user experience.
