Nowadays, effective management of cobalt production process on the basis of automated control systems is a very actual and important task, which allows to increase the efficiency of metallurgical industry of Kazakhstan. the aim of the research is to develop models and control algorithm for creation of distributed automated control system of cobalt production process. the study creates a functional scheme of the sold-out automated control system for the technological process of cobalt production. the proposed approach to the creation of an automated system is based on mathematical models of the controlled process. Based on the structural scheme of the cobalt production process, mathematical models of the process are developed, describing the dependence of output parameters of cobalt concentration separation reactors on their input parameters taking into account control actions. the task of controlling the cobalt production process is set as a multi-component optimisation problem, which is effectively solved on the basis of a distributed control system. the block diagram of the developed algorithm of effective control of cobalt production process is constructed, based on the method of situational control. Such an algorithm allows to accumulate ready-made more effective solutions for arising at management of cobalt production process for different situations and to reduce necessity of development of new solutions. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

In recent years, the demand for more computing power has exponentially grown, leading to new processor architectures being developed to meet these demands. Among these, tiled chip multicore processors (TCMP) have been significantly gaining attention due to their scalability, power efficiency, and performance. A detailed survey of various prefetching mechanisms used in multicore processors and TCMP is provided in this paper. Designed to optimize prefetching, these mechanisms take into account the specific layout and communication patterns of the tiled architecture, aim to reduce inter-tile communication overhead and improve local cache hit rates. the role of the on-chip network, crucial in facilitating communication between tiles, is also a focus of discussion. this paper also highlights the necessity of efficient resource utilization and communication mechanisms. Two case study details are provided that incorporate TCMP architecture. A few evaluation metrics like cache hit time, IPC, and memory access time are discussed which are crucial for assessing the impact of prefetching on system performance and efficiency. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

With the increase in the number of networking devices in the industrial field, the total amount of data increases, resulting in huge broadband pressure and power consumption, making the traditional centralized processing outdated, and giving rise to the development of edge computing in the industrial field. To ensure the security of the overall network, the trust concept of the access terminal computer numerical control (CNC) system is introduced as an important basis for improving the manufacturing capability of CNC machine tools, so the inclusion of computing power and trust mechanism in the intelligent CNC system is a good solution to the lack of computing and analysis resources and the ability to reduce the security risks of the CNC system. In this paper, we mainly design a trust level evaluation method for the intelligent CNC system based on edge intelligence, which incorporates the trust evaluation in the edge computing environment, and effective plans and coordinates the cloud, edge, and final resources in the intelligent CNC system. We designed the trust degree model evaluation and constructed the security trust level of the CNC intelligent system with the collaboration between the cloud and the edge. Finally, the experimental scheme is validated and tested in a real environment. © 2022 IEEE.

Serverless computing has emerged as a very popular cloud technology, together with its companion Function-as-aService (FaaS) programming model enabling invocations of stateless functions from clients. An evolution of serverless is now taking place, shifting it towards the edge of the network and broadening its scope to stateful functions, as well. In this paper we argue that stateless vs. stateful is not a dichotomy of the application per se, but rather a time-varying property of most (if not all) applications, as confirmed by the analysis of real traces collected in a production environment. Based on this observation, we propose a mathematical formulation of a resource allocation problem that jointly encompasses both operation modes, dubbed lambda vs. mu, which can be solved efficiently at run-time by an edge orchestrator. We evaluate the proposed solution via simulation experiments in realistic network and workload conditions, which leads the way to the practical realization of a system where applications can freely adapt their current operation mode and optimize their performance at a minimum cost of operation from the network's perspective.

Lung cancer (LC), generally called lung carcinoma, is a fatal and debilitating illness that affects the lungs. Lung cancer is caused by the genetic damage that occurs to the DNA of the cell as a result of numerous environmental factors. there are no common signs that can be used to determine if a man or a woman has lung cancer unless the illness has progressed to an advanced stage or a lung screening method has been utilized. Early detection and intervention will help save lives from the lung cancer epidemic. Based on this research problem, lung cancer prediction is investigated and tested. Several ML approaches are considered to the study of lung cancer. ML is an area of AI that seeks to generate predictions based on historical and past data. the experimental technique utilizes lung cancer data collected from the public respiratory system. Lung cancer datasets are analyzed using LR, DT, RF, SVM, XGB classifier, Gradient Boosting, and KNN models. Four distinct measures (accuracy, sensitivity, precision, and F1-score) are used to project and compare the experimental outcomes acquired by ML models: In relation Compared to other ML models such as LR, DT, RF, SVM, Gradient Boosting, & KNN, the experimental findings demonstrate that the XGB classifier provides accurate predictions. Finally from all parameter aspects, it clearly shows XGB classifier good prediction results compare to other ML models like LR, DT, RF, SVM, Gradient Boosting, and KNN. © 2023 IEEE.

the advancement of technology brings an extensive use of Internet of things (IoT) devices in our daily life. IoT primary used for data collection and provide real-time management information in the network paradigms such as Edge computing and Fog computing. However, assuring the reliability of data delivered via Edge computing is a challenging task. Blockchain has been a technology that has gained traction in recent years. Using Blockchain with IoT allows Smart Cities (SC) applications to spread security information, which protects against distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) attacks. IoT devices in a SC can have a lengthy life, increasing the possibility of security flaws caused by obsolete firmware. this paper will highlight the significance of the implementation considering the SC and demonstrate a testbed made up of Blockchain Ethereum and actual IoT devices. the effects of transmission time, memory, and CPU use on the sending also processing of these messages were demonstrated. the proposed Application Programming Interface (API) sign, identify, and validate the messages before collecting them for an IoT data management application. © 2022 IEEE.

Monitoring flash floods and providing just-in-time notification to city officials for taking appropriate action and prompt intervention is crucial for any smart city located in flood-prone areas around the world. Flood monitoring systems that exploit image analysis via Machine Learning (ML) techniques have been already proposed in literature. Such systems, however, adopt a cloud-based approach that generates significant data traffic and could be susceptible to failures due to network outages. In such a framework, images are continuously offloaded from cameras deployed in flood-prone areas of the city towards a cloud infrastructure where a service is deployed to analyze the images and detect the rise of water in rivers or city canals in a timely way. In this paper, we present the activities of the project EdgeFlooding, which aims at investigating the opportunity of adopting a distributed approach based on edge computing for the implementation of more resilient and reliable flash flood monitoring systems, that helps mitigate the limitations of the cloud-based systems. We have developed a prototype of an edge computing flood monitoring system based on micro-services, and we run an extensive set of experiments exploiting one European Fed4Fire+ testbed, i.e., the Grid'5000 testbed. the aim of those experiments is to assess whether a distributed edge/cloud computing approach is feasible for the implementation of future flood or environmental monitoring systems.

With the development of Software-Defined networking (SDN), more and more SDN applications are deployed in the networks. However, different developers will develop applications according to their own wishes, which may cause interference when these applications work together. In many SDN applications studies, although single application passes the verification, it is hard to avoid the interference between different applications. For the research of multi-application interference, the correctness of single application is often not considered. As a consequence, this paper proposes a new model checking method for multiple SDN applications. Not only does it consider the correctness of single application, but also the detection of multi-application interference. Firstly, we propose a new model, Multi-Applications Extended Finite State Machine (MA-EFSM), that can describe the coexistence situation of multiple applications. then we define the correctness properties for single application and the interference properties for multi-application used in model checking respectively. this method can not only detect the design defects of single application, but also detect the interference between multiple applications. Finally, we propose a test framework based on verification further. It can test multiple SDN applications in a real network environment. © 2022 IEEE.

In spite of multiple investigations in the field of large-scale SVM tasks, the problem of their solution is still actual. Previously, we proposed the kernel-based mean decision rules method with smart sampling (SS-KMDR). According to experiments, it provides the possibility to obtain results close in quality to the reference ones, but for much less time compared to traditional methods. In this paper, we present a new high-performance implementation (HP-SS-KMDR), which allows us to further speed-up computations through the development of efficient parallel algorithms and modern technologies for parallel and distributed computing. Besides, experiments show that in a number of cases the proposed HP-SS-KMDR method allows us to increase the recognition quality compared to the sequential version due to the possibility to process more data in less time. © 2022 IEEE.
