this study introduces a secure and scalable hybrid trust management system for Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs), designed to detect and mitigate diverse malicious activities, including Sybil attacks, Denial of Service (DoS), and data forgery. Integrating entropy-based anomaly detection, Bayesian reputation updating, and the IOTA Tangle as a distributed ledger, the system ensures robust, real-time trust evaluation in dynamic vehicular environments. Rigorous testing against adversarial scenarios demonstrated high detection accuracy, low latency, and resilience under varied attack conditions. Key contributions include enhanced scalability through edge computing, secure reputation storage using distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), and real-time anomaly detection. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.. All rights reserved.

With the emergence of AI for good, there has been an increasing interest in building computer vision data-driven deep learning inclusive AI solutions. Sign language Recognition (SLR) has gained attention recently. It is an essential component of a sign-to-text translation system to support the deaf and hard-of-hearing population. this paper presents a computer VISIOn data-driven deep learning framework for Sign Language video Recognition (VisoSLR). VisioSLR provides a precise measurement of translating signs for developing an end-to-end computational translation system. Considering the scarcity of sign language datasets, which hinders the development of an accurate recognition model, we evaluate the performance of our framework by fine-tuning the very well-known YOLO models, which are built from a signs-unrelated collection of images and videos, using a small-sized sign language dataset. Gathering a sign language dataset for signs training would involve an enormous amount of time to collect and annotate videos in different environmental setups and multiple signers, in addition to the training time of a model. Numerical evaluations of VisioSLR show that our framework recognizes signs with a mean average precision of 97.4%, 97.1%, and 95.5% and 11, 12, and 12 milliseconds of recognition time on YOLOv8m, YOLOv9m, and YOLOv11m, respectively. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.. the feedback gain in the traditional economic dispatch consensus algorithm is a fixed value, which leads to a slow convergence speed. To solve the problem, a novel distributed economic dispatch method for smart grid with time-varying feedback gain is proposed in this paper. First, by adding the direct cost, overestimation cost and underestimation cost of wind power to the objective function, an economic dispatch model considering wind power uncertainly is established, which can be flexibly scheduled under random wind speeds. Second, an improved consensus algorithm with time-varying feedback gain is proposed to solve the economic dispatch problem, which provides a design method of dynamic feedback gain instead of a fixed value and improves the convergence speed. Finally, several case studies are carried out in the IEEE 14-bus system to illustrate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

this paper presents a distributed structured controller design method in the case of finite number of subsystems with sensor failures. the constraint on the number of sensor failures is represented by a cardinality constraint on the controller gain matrix. A mixed integer programming method is employed to deal with this type of column cardinality constraint. By using the Lyapunov functional method, we present a sufficient condition that guarantees the H∞ asymptotic stability of the closed-loop system. And a column sparse controller design method is presented in the form of linear matrix inequalities. Finally, a numerical example is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the developed approach. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.
