In this paper discusses methods for improving the computing power of distributed computing project using the computing power of volunteers. the methods involve attracting more volunteers and retaining their interest for a long time. the results of the study on the preferences of volunteers to highlight the most significant factors affecting the interest of volunteers are discussed. the approach of index and multiparameter estimation of volunteer distributed computing projects is discussed. A modified scoring system for performing calculations in the volunteer distributed computing project is proposed. © 2018 Ilya I. Kurochkin.

Collaboration between distributed domains has become an emerging demand that allows organization to share resources and services. In order to ensure secure collaboration between them, authorization specification is required. thus, a global access control policy should be defined. However, the combination of the collaborator's access control policies may create authorization conflicts. In this paper, we propose a new approach based on organization's weight alpha(i) in order to resolve potential detected policy conflicts, also we define how to calculate ai accordingly and we propose a new algorithm to resolve the detected conflicts.

In the last years, cyber security of Industrial Control Systems (ICSs) has become an important issue due to the discovery of sophisticated malware that by attacking Critical Infrastructures, could cause catastrophic safety results. Researches have been developing countermeasures to enhance cyber security for pre-Internet era systems, which are extremely vulnerable to threats. this paper presents the potential opportunities that Software Defined networking (SDN) provides for the security enhancement of Industrial Control Networks. SDN permits a high level of configuration of a network by the separation of control and data planes. In this work, we describe the affinities between SDN and ICSs and we discuss about implementation strategies.

Along with the energy revolution and the environmental movement, the energy industry is transforming into a clean, distributed energy sector with a new energy structure featuring multiple energy flows complementing each other. Blockchain is a distributed database that is jointly maintained by the consensus of the whole network and maintains all historical transaction data. It provides a feasible path for the transaction demand of distributed energy, high frequency and low cost. Firstly the problems brought by distributed energy transaction and the business positioning of each subject is analyzed. Based on the core demand of distributed energy transaction, the fit between Blockchain technology and distributed energy transaction is analyzed. On this basis, Fabric distributed energy transaction architecture and transaction flow are proposed, and the key technologies of distributed data storage, consensus mechanism and intelligent contract are analyzed.

Cloud computing has been one of the revolutionary breakthroughs of this decade in the ICT world and its popularity is soaring more than ever. More and more data centers are being deployed in order to accommodate the physical resources needed by cloud systems. As an important side effect the global energy demand of data centers are also on the rise. In the meantime the advancement in virtualization technologies has made migrating virtual machines from one host to another without shutting them down possible. therefore the optimization of data center operations through the dynamic placement of virtual machines became a reality. this paper formalizes the well-studied cloud scheduling problem in a matching theoretical model in which the virtual machine to physical server mapping is translated into a stable matching problem. We build on an advanced algorithm from the matching theory domain in order to find the most accommodating scheduling arrangement. Hindered by the complexity of the algorithm, we evaluate various heuristics in numerical simulations of cloud environments. After the verification of the selected heuristic algorithm, we present the implementation of the proposed method as a custom compute scheduler for OpenStack.

the use of social networking sites (SNSs) continues to dramatically increase. People are spending unexpected and unprecedented amounts of time online. Such excessive and compulsive use has been categorized as a behavioral addiction. We assessed the symptoms of excessive SNS usage by studying user behavior and emotion in SNSs. In previous studies, we developed a data collection application as a tool for collecting data from questionnaires and SNSs by APIs. We experimentally collected data from undergraduate students at the thai-Nichi Institute of Technology (TNI), thailand. To improve our data analysis, we employed web log data and analyzed, including the combination with questionnaires data to clarify SNS usage behaviors and the factors associated with SNS addiction. Our analytical results identified the variables that distinguish excessive users from normal users.

the automotive industry currently faces several challenges, including a growing complexity in system architecture. At the same time, the task load as well as the needs for performance increase. To address this problem, the A3Fa research project evaluates scalable distributed concepts for future vehicle system architectures. these can be seen as comparable to cluster-computing systems, which are applied in high-performance or high-availability use-cases. Methods used in such scenarios will also be important features in future vehicle architectures such as horizontal application scalability, application load balancing and reallocation, as well as functionality upgrades triggered by the user. this paper focuses on concepts and methods for the reliability of applications and hardware in future in-vehicle distributed system architectures. It is argued that future automotive computing systems will evolve towards enterprise IT systems similar to today’s data centers. Furthermore, it is stated these vehicle systems can benefit greatly from IT systems. In particular, the safety against failure of functions and hardware in such systems is discussed. For this purpose, various of such mechanisms used in information technology are investigated. A layer-based classification is proposed, representing the different fail-safe levels. Recently, fog computing has become a highly virtualized platform that provides computation, storage, and networking services between end devices and traditional cloud data centers. In this paper, we address the resource provision (RP) problem for delay-sensitive users in cooperative fog computing. Our objective is to find a feasible provision scheme that minimizes the total monetary cost proportional to the number of fog nodes for network operators under the deadline and capacity constraints by considering the cooperation of fog nodes. We consider two cases of our RP problem: the Unlimited-Processor Fog Nodes (UPFN) case and the Limited-Processor Fog Nodes (LPFN) case. For the UPFN case, each fog node has unlimited processors. the requests on each fog node can be processed in parallel ideally, i.e. with no scheduling delay. the LPFN case corresponds to a more realistic scenario where the scheduling delay is non-eligible. In either case, our RP problem is proven to be NP-hard. For the UPFN case, we propose two greedy algorithms which iteratively remove fog nodes according to their global or local cooperative influences until there is no feasible provision that can guarantee users' deadlines. For the LPFN case, it is not trivial to check the existence of a feasible provision due to the interactive influence on the scheduling delay for requests. We find a near-optimal solution with bound 8/3 OPT + epsilon(2)/8m alpha using the continuous congestion game and check the feasibility, where m is the number of fog nodes and a is a constant value related to the delay function. Extensive simulations demonstrate the efficiency of our schemes.

Scene classification is considered as an imperative issue for computer vision and has got extensive consideration in the recent past. Due to recent developments in high performance computing units such as GPUs, popularly known deep learning algorithm namely, convolutional neural networks (CNNs), exploits huge datasets to give powerful models. the paper proposes the use of transfer learning technique, by which a pre-trained model known as Places-CNN is used to generate feature vectors for each scene image of the dataset. the scene-classification experiments are conducted on the Oliva Torralba (OT) scene dataset, which consists of eight outdoor scene categories. the features were extracted from the fully connected layer of the pre-trained Places CNN architecture. the deep features were extracted from the input color images and the grayscale images converted using two different techniques based on singular value decomposition (SVD). the results obtained from classification experiments show that, models trained on SVD-Decolorized and Modified-SVD decolorized images give comparable performance to the input color images. Unlike the color images, which use three planes (RGB) of information, the grayscale images use only one plane of information. the grayscale images were able to retain the required shape and texture information from the original RGB images and, thus sufficient to categorize the classes of scene images. this paper introduces HSAStore, a newly designed storage system whose goal goes to build an efficient storage system for computing systems that containing large-scale intermediate data. HSAStore involves three sub-systems to work together, a distributed file system which is in charge of the intermediate data, a centralized Network Attached Storage (NAS) which stores the raw input data and the results data, and a local file system that serves for the local data. the HSAStore takes full advantage of the network bandwidth of the computing cluster. Moreover, HSAStore adopts the distributed file system, so it is helpful for efficient execution of parallel programs. Experiments show that HSAStore has a significant improvement on efficiency in the computing systems that containing large-scale intermediate data.
