In a RADAR system, the introduction of a jamming signal in the received signal path makes the distinguishing of targets a challenging task. the most frequently used signals in radar are of the continuous and pulsed wave types. When using pulsed radar signals, modification of the waveform is required in the radar operations for improved target sensitivity and range resolution. In addition, for the monostatic radar case, two antennas are used, one each at the transmitter and receiver sides. In the work discussed here, along with the monostatic model radar signals such as the stepped frequency waveform (SFW) and the 4-level pulse amplitude modulation (PAM4) waveform are considered, and they are observed to be powerful modulation techniques capable of avoiding jamming SFW is used to obtain high range resolution, while PAM4 is used to obtain lower bandwidth. Combination of SFW and PAM4 provides a compound pulsed radar modulation technique which shows efficient results in target detection. To examine the performance of SFW and PAM4, simulation is done using a monostatic radar model under different conditions such as multipath propagation, fading and jamming the compound pulsed radar modulation techniques are shown as being able to detect targets in the presence of a jamming signal. the results are analyzed in terms of the critical radar parameters such as range speed response, burn-through range, cross-over range and signal jammer noise ratio. Applications like Big Data, Machine Learning, Deep Learning and even other Engineering and Scientific research requires a lot of computing power; making High-Performance computing (HPC) an important field. But access to Supercomputers is out of range from the majority. Nowadays Supercomputers are actually clusters of computers usually made-up of commodity hardware. Such clusters are called Beowulf Clusters. the history of which goes back to 1994 when NASA built a Supercomputer by creating a cluster of commodity hardware. In recent times a lot of effort has been done in making HPC Clusters of even single board computers (SBCs). Although the creation of clusters of commodity hardware is possible but is a cumbersome task. Moreover, the maintenance of such systems is also difficult and requires special expertise and time. the concept of cloud is to provide on-demand resources that can be services, platform or even infrastructure and this is done by sharing a big resource pool. Cloud computing has resolved problems like maintenance of hardware and requirement of having expertise in networking etc. An effort is made of bringing concepts from cloud computing to HPC in order to get benefits of cloud. the main target is to create a system which can develop a capability of providing computing power as a service which to further be referred to as Supercomputer as a service. A prototype was made using Raspberry Pi (RPi) 3B and 3B+ Single Board Computers. the reason for using RPi boards was increasing popularity of ARM processors in the field of HPC.

Information security research has been a highly active and widely studied research direction. In the domain of Enterprise Social Networks (ESNs), the security challenges are amplified as they aim to incorporate the social technologies in an enterprise setup and thus asserting greater control on information security. Further, the security challenges may not be limited to the boundaries of a single enterprise and need to be catered for a federated environment where users from different ESNs can collaborate. In this paper, we address the problem of federated authorization for the ESNs and present an approach for combining user level policies with the enterprise policies. We present the formal verification technique for ESNs and how it can be used to identify the conflicts in the policies. It allows us to bridge the gap between user-centric or enterprise-centric approaches as required by the domain of ESN. We apply our specification of ESNs on a scenario and discuss the model checking results.

Cluster management system is a core part of any computing infrastructure. Such system includes components for allocating and controlling over resources for different computing tasks, components for configuration management and software distribution on the computing hardware, components for monitoring and management software for the whole distributed infrastructure. the main goals of such system are to create autonomic computing system with functional areas such as self-configuration, self-healing, self-optimization and self-protection or to help to reduce the overall cost and complexity of IT management by simplifying the tasks of installing, configuring, operating, and maintaining clusters. In the presented work current implementation of the multicomponent cluster management system for HEP computing center will be shown. the flexibility of future production systems envisioned by Industry 4.0 requires safe but efficient Human-Robot Collaboration (HRC). An important enabler of HRC is a sophisticated collision avoidance mechanism which can detect objects and potential collision events and as a response, it calculates detour trajectories avoiding physical contacts. Digital twins provide a novel way to test the impact of different control decisions in a simulated virtual environment even in parallel. the required computational power can be provided by cloud platforms but at the cost of higher delay and jitter. Moreover, clouds bring a versatile set of novel techniques easing the life of both developers and operators. Can digital twins exploit the benefits of these concepts? Can the robots tolerate the delay characteristics coming with the cloud platforms? In this paper, we answer these questions by building on public and private cloud solutions providing different techniques for parallel computation. Our contribution is threefold. First, we introduce a measurement methodology to characterize different approaches in terms of latency. Second, a real HRC use-case is elaborated and a relevant KPI is defined. third, we evaluate the pros/cons of different solutions and their impact on the performance.

How to predict the influence of users in micro-blog is a challenging task. Although numerous attempts have been made for this topic, few of them analyze the influence of users from the perspective filtration mechanism. In this paper, we propose a novel Activation Forwarding Relationship Independent Cascade algorithm for analyzing the influence of users. the algorithm mainly consists of two parts: forwarding prediction and activation process. We predict the forwarding relationship by Random Forest (RF) and improve the Independent Cascade algorithm to construct an activation network. the algorithm can filter non influence users during the construction of the activation network, thus reducing the amount of ranking time. By calculating the user's activation capability, we rank user's influence. the experimental results show that our algorithm can achieve 95% accuracy in predicting forwarding relationships. Besides, our algorithm not only saves computing time, but also shows that the Top-10 users in the ranking list have better ability to spread information than the existing ranking algorithms.

the Internet of things (IoT) represents the global network which interconnects digital and physical entities. It aims at providing objects with intelligence that allows them to perceive, decide and cooperate with other objects, machines, systems and even humans to enable a whole new class of applications and services. Agent-Based computing paradigm has been exploited to deal with the IoT system development. Many research works focus on making objects able to think by themselves thus imitating human brain. Swarm intelligence-based systems provide decentralized, self-organized and robust systems with consideration of coordination frameworks. We explore in this paper the exploitation of swarm intelligence-based features in IoT-based systems. therefore, we present a reference swarm-based architectural model that enables cooperation among devices in IoT systems.

ITEP-FRRC HPC facility was built in 2011-2014 as a common project of State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM and Helmholtz Association of German Research Canters. It utilizes the concept of "green computing" which was invented by GSI/FAIR scientists. Facility is used for FAIR related studies by various groups from ITEP and other Russian physics centers. After 7 years of successful HPC facility operation we want to summarize the experience we got running the hardware and supporting the requested software. © 2018 Ivan E. Korolko, Mikhail S. Dealing with cluster systems you have multiple ordinary situations which can be solved using automation tools. StackStorm is a quite good event-driven system which helps to manage typical problems and to communicate with cluster via ChatOps extension. Just write a rule for such event and it will be triggered and solved. In the presented work will be shown an example of a real event-driven system on IHEP computing cluster which use Nagios, Check-MK, StackStorm, Mattermost for routine work automation as a part of multicomponent cluster management system. © 2018 Anna Kotliar, Victor Kotliar.
