Data encryption is gaining much attention these days from the research community and industry for transmitting secure information over access networks, i.e. 'fiber-to-the-home (FTth)' networks and data centers. It is important that the newly designed encrypted networks are fully functional, reconfigurable, compatible, flexible and scalable withthe existing deployed optical fiber networks around the globe. the prime benefit of having FTth networks is the optical end-to-end data encryption that can best be implemented by quantum-key-distribution (QKD) protocols using state-of-the-art telecommunication components, i.e. continuous-variable quantum key distribution (CV-QKD). In this paper, we numerically investigate the quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK) based CV-QKD network that is compatible withthe next generation (NG) services such as point-to-point (P2P) transmission and multicast overlay (MCO) traffic for audio/video signalling. We have further investigated the performance of quantum signals on multi-user fibers by emulating 7-, 12- and 19-core multi-core fibers (MCF). 100 Mbits/s secure key rates (SKRs) can be generated for inter-core crosstalk (XT) values of <= -20 dB. these results and theoretical framework will allow the telecommunication industry to extend these scenarios not only to accommodate more complex trust constraints, but also to take into account the robustness and resiliency of a complex encrypted network.

In the era of IoT, large volumes of event data from different sources are collected in the form of streams. As these logs need to be online processed to extract further knowledge about the underlying business process, it is becoming more and more important to give support to run-time monitoring. In particular, increasing attention has been turned to conformance checking as a way to identify when a sequence of events deviates from the expected behavior. Albeit rather straightforward on a small log file, conformance verification techniques may show poor performance when dealing with big data, making increasingly attractive the possibility to improve scalability through distributed computation. In this paper, we adopt a previously implemented framework for compliance verification (which provides a high-level logic based notation for the monitoring specification) and we show how it can be efficiently distributed on a set of computing nodes to support scalable run-time monitoring when dealing with large volumes of event logs.

To tackle the problem of long-term disasters of river basin by big dams and at the same time to meet the energy demands we propose a novel distributed allocation of power generation units along the river. the presented approach is applicable where a distribution of resources is required subject to challenges posed by uncertainty in the behavior of the environment. the problem of uncertainty is split into two parts. the short-term variations are taken care of using a distance based partitioning approach to determine the power unit co-ordinates and corresponding partitions of the geographic area based on the power demand. the key idea is to minimize the distance between probability distribution of the generated power and the total demand supposed to be catered in a local geographic partition. the long-term uncertainty is handled by assigning sleep/wake periods to the placed run-of-the-river (ROR)s. Numerical simulations on the water flow data of the Mississippi river is performed and it is shown that the proposed formulation is applicable for determining the initial unit placements and also in deciding the sleep/wake periods of the placed units. A comprehensive study of ROR placements upon varying the demand density, locality preference and time is performed. the solution based on the idea of disturb and settle can be computed in an efficient polynomial order complexity and offers exponential savings from the brute-force.

As can be seen, the number of cars worldwide is growing day after day. the deployment of VANETs technology which is composed of several types of communications has interested many researchers. So that to stabilize and handle this number of vehicles, we have focused our search on Quality of Service (QoS) and increased packet delivery ratio between vehicles by implementing Clustering scheme. this paper describes a new distributed algorithm connectivity-based to form stable clusters. To evaluate our proposal scheme, we have conducted various simulations in OMNeT++ and SUMO simulators. the obtained results are promising in terms of packet delivery ratio and overhead.

In deregulated electricity market determination of available transfer capability (ATC) in advance becomes necessary to use whole existing transmission network efficiently and economically. this work considers optimal power flow (OPF) based method to estimate ATC when probabilistic solar power is injected into the system as active power source. Novel voltage sensitivity indices are considered for the optimal placement of solar power generation into the transmission network. Probabilistic demand is incorporated by considering load variations as normally distributed random variables. Monte Carlo sampling (MCS) and Latin Hypercube sampling (LHS) techniques are considered to extract samples from the normally distributed load samples. Simulation result shows a significant reduction in ATC values occur when probabilistic load is taken into account, as compare to the steady load.
