the current power grid system in the Philippines allows the consumers to utilize any amount of electrical energy as long as they can pay for it. As a response, the utilities need to meet the demand at all times by purchasing energy from the generating plants whatever the cost may be. Today, these distribution utilities started to explore the usage of distributed energy resources in order to cater these varying demands, especially the peak demand. Moreover, the number of consumers which implemented transactive energy schemes also continues to increase. If this interaction between the utility and the consumers will be well-coordinated, reduction in the electricity price and energy consumption would be possible. this paper describes a computing tool and was able to (1) solve for the electricity tariff, (2) produce schedule of energy dispatch from distributed generators and storage systems and (3) perform proper demand-side management through scheduling of appliance operations, in order to reduce the cost of customer energy consumption at the same time maximize the allowable utility profit.

the ever-increasing demand for cloud services results in large electricity costs to cloud providers and causes significant impact on the environment. this has pushed cloud providers to power their data centers with renewable energy sources more than ever. Among the different ways of adopting renewable energy sources, on-site power generation using wind and solar energy has gained considerable attention by large companies and proved its potential to reduce data centers' carbon footprint and energy costs. Efficient utilization of renewable energy sources is challenging due to their intermittency and unpredictability. Cloud providers with multiple Geo-distributed data centers in a region can exploit the temporal variations in on-site power and grid power price by routing the load to a suitable data center in order to reduce cost and increase renewable energy utilization. To achieve this goal, we propose a fuzzy logic-based load balancing algorithm that acts with no knowledge of future. We conduct extensive experiments using a case study based on real world traces obtained from National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and Energy Information Administration (EIA) in the US, and Google cluster-usage. Compared to other benchmark algorithms, our method is able to significantly reduce the cost without a priori knowledge of the future electricity price, renewable energy availability, and workloads.

this paper presents enhancements of Service Oriented SystemJ (SOSJ) framework, which extends a system-level language based on GALS model of computation SystemJ with services, into a new programming paradigm amenable for designing dynamic distributed automation systems such as reconfigurable manufacturing systems. the new paradigm combines correct-by-construction software systems development available in SystemJ withthe dynamic features of service oriented architecture. the new approach introduces macro states into fundamental concurrent and distributed entities of SOSJ, called clock domains, which address typical behaviors in dynamic distributed systems. We showcase the use of the new paradigm on an example of reconfigurable manufacturing scenarios in a dynamic manufacturing system.

Storage Set-vice Provider (SSP) of GDSS has dedicated buffer to cache metadata. the design, implementation and evaluation of RCMMS are discussed in this paper. On the other side, gridcomputing is an emerging "standard" to develop and deploy distributed, high performance applications over geographic networks, in different domains, and in particular for data intensive applications. this paper proposes an approach to integrate cluster of computers within a grid infrastructure to use them, enriched by specific data mining services, as the deployment platform for high performance distributed data mining and knowledge discovery.
